I will be 71 years young in September and a natural, soft everyday look is my go to and I just amp it up a little for special occasions!!

I'm 43. I enjoy laura gellar. I buy more make up and varied for my teenager over myself. I'm for anything simple and easy. Not keen on the feel of liquid foundation. X

I've been seeing this 60th birthday as the beginning of my revolution. The song "What's Going On" by 4 Non Blondes is my anthem right now! You should listen. And Wednesday I stood on my porch, took a breathe and yelled, "What's going on!"

I retired from public school teaching and administration after 32 years at age 53. Went on to teach college for four years then was recruited by a private Catholic girls school to start a journalism program. They had no J classes and publications were after school clubs.-what an enormous task. I was 58 but it was my love and I took it/ built a complete print and broadcast program but had to quit at 70 due to health. Retirement for me is excruciating. I am weird!
But turning 60 felt no different / I was still working 10-12 hours a day but you know high school kids keep you young. Now turning 75 this year was really hard!!
Yes, my aunt was a teacher All her life from leaving school, to uni, to teaching.. retired at 75, but couldn't stand it, did private tutouring until 80, is 82 and has the energy of a 20yr old. Age is just numbers, its the life in you that is important, I'm 64 and run to keep up with her😂😂
I think when we love something so much it gives us energy. I loved every minute of teaching, but I have no doubt that the stress and long hours was taking a toll on my body. So many of my teacher friends are dealing with health issues due to the stress of the job. I am looking forward to better sleep, feeling less worry, and having more time for my family. (I worry about the kids constantly!) xoxo
When I turned 60, I was afraid of what the future would bring. I’m 67 now and I don’t feel that way anymore. I liked the first lipstick better when you applied it with the tool. I liked the second one best for your look today. My favorite was the “lilac” one that was close to your own lip color. I did not care for the coral one at all. I enjoy watching your videos. Your teaching background really comes through. Nikki La Rose said in one of her videos that when a cream product starts to dry out, she spritzes it with setting spray. Btw, I agree with your daughter about the brows! Happy Birthday!🎈🎉
You look beautiful in your new top, Laura Rae!! The last time I wore "light" lipstick was in the 1960's when frosted white lipstick was the rage. Like you, I prefer color on my lips. Whisky Business was my favorite on you. You will continue to rock all decades. I'm closed to 71, then 70. My dear friend of 40+ years turned 90, in June. She is beautiful, and amazing. Remember we were taught “if you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all.” Well I always apply that to online comments as well. Unless someone asks for opinions on a certain thing, then if I don’t like it I will at less put it as nicely as I can. I rarely say anything negative online though.
Thanks Laura I’ve got to get the Revlon jelly makeup blender. Sometimes brushes are irritating. Like you, I have a hard time getting my inner eye corner blended using my finger. Agree the whiskey business looked great on you, I think for me I’d prefer the daylight delight. I’ll be hitting 75, the new 45 😊

Absolutely I agree with you! I turned 60 this year and I'm truly making decisions about my life and my future. And also reflecting about my past decisions. It's a milestone year and I'm very blessed to have lived this long. And I want the best possible life for the rest of my life.

I will hit 60 later this year. In the beginning of the video you talked about how kind your daughters are when trying to help you. I remember one time I was shopping with our son. I came out of the dressing room and asked him what he thought. He was 12 at the time and the other ladies looked at me like I was off my rocker to ask his opinion. LOL He looked at the dress carefully and said, "you know Mom, that dress doesn't make you look as pretty as you are." Needless to say, the dress stayed at the store. I love the CG Ink eye liners. They are so smooth and easy to use.

Happy Birthday, Beautiful Laura! Makeup has come a long way in my 63 years of life. Growing up in a rural area there wasn’t anything like a Sephora or Ulta. The drug stores didn’t have very much in my area. I remember being so excited when the opportunity arose to go to a mall. My best memories are going to the department store counter at the mall and being helped by the beauty consultants. I loved getting makeovers. It was a real treat. Hi Laura I’m 52 so my next decade will be my sixties🫢😂. I hope you had a wonderful birthday 🎂 🎉.
The ingredients in tinted sunscreen you mentioned are iron oxides (we get very little blue light from devices in comparison to how much we get from the sun btw). Iron oxides are also in foundation or tinted moisturiser so you get that protection from those as well as from tinted spf. That means a clear spf plus foundation gives you the same protection as tinted spf (for those who have a favourite non tinted spf like me).
The lipstick in the lilac shade will look great on you with any makeup as it is so close to your natural lip colour (also will show less wear off😂), but with the slightly bronzy look of the makeup today the whiskey business does look really good. I wasn’t a big fan of the brown craze of the nineties first time around 😂, but that’s because it didn’t suit me then or now (brown lipstick makes me look ill😂). I’m super pale and cool toned with grey eyes and ashy blonde hair so I look better in grey or taupe eye products and a more pink or lilac cheek and lip. Fortunately I have never worried about following trends and just do my own thing so I will be skipping the brown lipstick thing this time around too😂. Best wishes x

Laura, I am 61 and it seems every decade brings different things, it is a time for assessment and reflection. Every decade I ask myself how do I want to approach the next ten years? What changes do I need to make? What products do I need to add? What products do I need to remove? What conversations do I need to have and with whom? What are some things I need to work on? How can I be a better person? Am I living my life in a way that would make a difference in the world? These are some examples I use in my assessment. I am giving myself grace. ❤

Pretty lady, i want to share that i flew from Los Angeles to Bangkok - about 20 hour trip - i put on the Elf Mascara & it worked great - no smudging - no smearing for over 20 hours. i loved it so much i bought one for my sister & of course a backup.😀

Im 61 and just remind myself that everyday is a gift and it o.k. to relax, self care, etc and don't feel hurried by a self imposed to do list. Also tubing mascara is made to be taken off with warm water. 😀
Yes! I’m always picking up the latest cutesy makeup sponges, puffs, etc-BUT, those old school white sponges? They’re the best. That sharp edge helps me w/my baby wing AND w/my concealer. ❤ You’re a peach 🍑

I much prefer a tubing mascara, I use an Australian brand 'Naito' , its fantastic, and I often also use a volumising mascara over the top if I want more dramatic lashes

I love the idea of cream eyeshadow because I think one and done is the best look I can have. My problem is that the eye shadow never seems to come out correctly when I try to apply. I need to watch how you apply cream shadow.
As far as turning's 60, I became obsessed with redefining myself. At 75, I've become extremely reflective. ..nostalgic, really.

I’m 58, and not sure about my feelings turning 60. It just is and growing older is part of life. I’m enjoying my time in life with my four older children and three grandkids.
Hi Laura Ray. I am older, much. Lol. I temple thinking how old I thought 30 was, how wrong I was then. I am in my late 70’s and love make up. I don’t wear it everyday now. I feel when we retire it’s a different journey. I am on the tip of life’s journey, Autumn of my life. Friends we had for years leave, loved ones too. I have always taken care of myself and many say I look like I am in my 60’s. We change so will our hair, clothes and make up. One thing I noticed is often times older people aren’t “seen as important “ I enjoy your channel and the world you do in showing dupe’s, and makeup that is great and affordable. Have a great weekend.

I love the Candied Rose & the Whiskey. I think they both look so pretty on you. I'm 69 and since I have normal to dry skin, so I'm loving all things cream & liquid. I only use a little powder as possible. And the biggest tip I can give is lots of water and keep moving, after all age is only a number and make sure you have at least one BFF.

Happy birthday, Laura! I so love your smoky taupe Covergirl eyeliner trick for brows. It's one of my favorites. Turning 60 was okay for me. In working with the public, I always reminded women that they will never be as young and beautiful as they are today, so love how you look and accentuate your best features. Celebrate today and don't spend any energy on how you've aged. In every moment, focus on being the best person you can be. The world needs more of that. 💖 PS - Tubing mascara is all I use. Just love them!
Oh my goodness, I love all your videos! Your voice is so soothing and I always learn something new! I don’t wear a lot of makeup anymore as I spend so much time outside doing fun things! Use tons of sport sunscreen. I retired at 58 and my alarm was set to 4:00am as well each morning. Went to bed always early and now I am a night owl! Never in my life have I’ve ever been on this schedule. Usually wake around 7 or 8 each morning. It did take a little while to get acclimated to not having to wake up early for work! Turned 60 last October and honestly it never phased me for whatever reason! As my parents have always shared that I have always acted extremely young for my age! lol. I am so thankful to my Heavenly Father for each day He provides for me! My hubby and I retired at the same time, so it’s been fun! We play golf a whole bunch ❤❤❤

That is exactly what happened to me!! I could NOT figure out what the issue was! I had a thought it was me and not the product….. I finally watched a video of someone trying it on and figured it out that way. Not thrilled with that experience but do like the color and the shadow!

I tried the Revlon eye shadow in a pinky tone. It was a great “wash” of color. The only thing is that I didn’t like using my fingers or having to grab a brush. I love the stick eye shadows (ex Laura Mercier.). Have you reviewed the Thrive Eye Brightener eye shadows? I’d love to hear your take on them and the entire line. I love your shadows!!
I haven’t tried the Thrive. The Jane Iredale sticks are beautiful!❤️❤️

I use the Elf mascara daily. It’s awesome. I far prefer the serum tint than the foundation.

You looked great with just the sunscreen! I have the Revlon skin tint as well and love it too. It has light coverage, which is what I am wearing more and more these days. I think I might have to try that Cerave sunscreen.

I'm 72 now. I love makeup and fashion. I can still wear some trendy clothes mixed in with classic pieces. My challenge at this age is keeping a sophisticated balance in both. I really appreciate your very down to earth style while still finding beautiful, affordable and innovative products for us.

Hi Laura , I bought two of the eyeshadows, and I had such a hard time opening them too, it took me a couple of days to finally open them 😅. But it was worth the wait, they’re really lovely eyeshadows ❤
Have you ever mixed a little setting spray with your foundation before you apply it? I’ve seen a couple of RUclipsrs so that and it seemed to work well. That way you’re not spraying your face.
I love all the lip sticks but my favorite is 802 daylight delight! Going to go and get some of them to try thank you!

Since I turned 60, I keep forgetting how old I am. It’s like my internal chronological clock stopped. I don’t mind, but others find it odd. I’m heading toward 70. It will be interesting to see what happens then.
Thanks especially for the Smoky Taupe tip. It’s so difficult to find eyebrow colors that work well for slightly grayed eyebrows. Most taupes are a bit too deep for me. And it’s so affordable!
That Laidback Lilac is exactly the color I want, but I can’t wear those lipsticks because of the lanolin. Bummer!
While in the US, I had the chance to try products that are not available in my country. Loved your suggestions of Charlotte Tillbury and Fenty. A one way road, for sure. Magic cream, the countour and blushes, the eyeshadow pencisl and the magic wand, OMG worth it. Loved trying those at Sephora !!!! Affordable ones ? I got 2 primers from ELF, a putty blush from ELF, absolutely amazing THANKS for all your recommendations, and how to use them.
