“Don’t you just love shopping for craft stuff that you might not ever use?” Yes. Yes So Much. There are two hobbies. One is crafting, the second is shopping for crafting things.
if this was a drinking game, "cute" would be deadly. honestly japan has such a huge stationary variety and options available; its def one of the reasons I want to go as an art n crafts lover
That’s why I want to go to Japan. They have so much cool and cute things I want to buy it alllll. Also their cafes have themes, I especially want to visit a cat cafe
"I had no self control in Japan". Yo, talk about keepin' it real 😆👍👍 . Every human who's travelled to Japan can relate in some capacity to that playful confession of yours. I laughed out loud when your thumbnail popped up on my page. Having lived and worked through a long boring dark English winter is so worth it when I'm finally in Japan, shopping and eating to my heart's content. Course I have self control financially but there's a certain lavish indulgence when holidaying that feels wild and gives the illusion of no self-control. Which gives me enormous joy. Thanks for not gatekeeping Natasha-- you're doing your bit for the Japanese economy and for art in general. THANK YOU!! PS= Doesn't everybody love it when they return home and go through all the stuff they'd forgotten they bought when in Japan and then sits and edits all their travel photos whilst drinking a huge cup of coffee? Is that not THE BEST?! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Since forever I always go crazy about school supplies stores or stationary stores. When my kid’s started school it was heaven for me, but even when they went to college. Unfortunately they are grown and no longer in need of anything like that. BUT … Now I have a granddaughter 🥳🤗 and of course I’m at it again 😂. Happy shopping everyone 😊
love your genuine excitement over seeing the colors and designs of even some of the little and niche things haha I totally am the same at the store and its fun to vicariously through you until I can make my own Japan trip! Love your art and hope you had a great time!
I went to Japan in 2017 and if I knew about these art stores I would still be there now. I love Japanese stationary, they have everything imaginable and stuff that you never thought you needed.
High Tide and Sekaido were my favorites for sure, not too big that you get overwhelmed but not too simple with quality goods. I would definitely go a little crazy with pens. Id look for one that has ink and stylus combined but like a good battery stylus and ink pen. Those arts books were really good, the hand book will be invaluable ❤
After watched your video and read the comments, I don't feel lonely anymore, happy to know a lot of people love to go those shops and buy stuff that never are going to be used :). My favorite item is the cabbage shaver, love it, very useful. Keep enjoying!
You would love Rainbowholic's shop in Jujo Ginza (Jujo Station's just a couple of train stops along from Ikebukuro). So much cute stuff, inc washi tape & stickers. And they serve melon soda floats 💚
woweeee the production quality of this video is so nice!! I love how you did a mix of vlog and haul style. 💛 Also I love love your white jacket with the characters on it that you're wearing in the haul clips, so cute 🤩
3:55 ohh barbapapa!! i know that show! i only discovered it recently since my little brother started watching it but the show is really cute! title is such a mouthful to say though lmao. but once you get the gist of it it gets pretty easy to remember.
"How do I stop myself" you don't. We slowly just accept the fact cute things call to us and want us to buy them. I'm not even a craft person but the amount of things I want and would never use scares me lol.
So so sorry to hear about your US trip! The devastation! 😭 Hopefully you’ll get another chance soon 💛 This video was really fun though. I tried to go to the Hightide Store in Los Angeles and they were closed that day 😭 but I have the same Penco nesting boxes, I love them so much!!
very interesting video, with some very interesting shopping ideas, thanks for sharing. (by the way sorry for what happened to you and wynn in the airport hope everyhting gets better soon for you both)
Earlier this year I visited Japan for the first time exclusively to visit stationery shops and your video perfectly captures the experience! Although I managed to find a beautiful coloring book at Sekaido, I will make sure to spend more time by their books section next time I visit :)
My wife saw me watching this video and she said that she was so glad that we don't live in Japan as she thinks that I spend too much money already in UK craft stores! 😆 ...I think she would worry that we would have no money left for food if I was let loose in one of these Japanese stores! Excellent video, thank you.👍
loved this, natasha!! you were wondering if we liked this style of video, and i can safely say I enjoy watching any of the things you like to share, simply because your personality is just so wonderful!! you just honestly always brighten my day; your friends and wynn are so lucky to be around you in person! ~ also i will never understand why shops wouldn't like you recording in the store when it's free advertising 😂
In most cases, this is to protect the privacy of the customer. Normally in Japan, posting other people on the internet without permission is a violation of portrait rights and can lead to a lawsuit. Japanese RUclipsrs get permission from everyone who appears in their videos. Or they edit the video before posting it, such as blurring passersby who appear unintentionally. Irresponsibly posting other people's images on the internet can bring about various dangers, such as putting someone who has successfully escaped a stalker or abusive partner back in danger. Would you be responsible if they were killed?
I’m the same way with planners and journaling!! I love digital art, but I need a digital free place to think and declutter my mind. Funny you mentioned the copics, I actually got a few small sets to play with off Amazon last week. I’m starting a digital free art space for myself too so I have a place to unload and not worry about sharing things to social or making it perfect or whatever. I’ve also never really played with markers or copics before, so I’m excited for them to arrive. I didn’t get the crazy pack though just skin tones and nature colors. This was such a nice video! I love your channel, style and personality so much. You’re so fun and upbeat to watch and listen to when I’m feeling low or uninspired 😊
I'm with you on digital screens. I refuse to read books on them I find it difficult to keep track of were I am or I find I don't take notice as much as if I have a physical book.
I can’t believe your video just popped up on my main page. First, you are just so much fun! I love your sweet spunky energy! I would go nuts over there in all these shops. Right at this very moment my nephew is on a plane to Japan. He is in the Air Force and has waited forever to take this trip with a few of his AF buddies. I wish I knew what to tell him to get me.😄
Instant sub, you have the best vibes ever! I'd be so scared to ever travel to Japan... I would have absolutely 0 self control and literally spend all my savings 🥲
Im going to Japan in June and staying in Ginza, i absoloutly cant wait to go to all the art stores, that washi section alone looked amazing! I think my partner might get fed up of waiting for me, all the shops are so many stories 😂😂
Omg these art stores are a true dream. 😍 We usually have much smaller art stores in my country, so I would actually get lost in these, haha. Loved the hauls and the pieces you got, they were all so wonderful! ☺️💖
I honestly wasn’t expecting anything from this video, just your standard art store tour but your personality was so vibrant and warm that I couldn’t help but gush over the same things you loved. I recently took a trip to sekaido and fell in love with everything. edit: pls tell me where u got that killua poster behind u❤
I would be in so much trouble with my wallet. I would go crazy over the pens and stationary. I am so jealous, to see what you get to acquire. We have just now are getting Daiso's here. Those are fun. For me this is like a land of chocolate. Wow! Your shops have so much stuff. How cool. 😀😁
Natasha, I just found your videos and as a fellow ‘art/craft supplies hoarder’ I love them!! Question: Have you ever thought about designing a colouring book and/or day-planner??
Hi, can you recommend a place to buy some embroidery and cross stitch related materials? Very interested in threads, fabric and cross stitch kits but don’t know how to search
wow!!! Japan seems to have a better selection of art supplies than the Stores back in the U.S. I didn't see any Blick art supplies though hahaha. You got Michaels and Hobby Lobby, that's it.
Great video! And I love the vibe of your vlog. Thanks for sharing your art stores experience in Japan! ✨ Also couldn't help but notice the Jeonghan and Hoshi lockscreen 😆🩷🩵
The art boooooks! 😍 I’m dying over the Sanrio art books and I’d love to know what the title of the how to draw hands book is- I also struggle with hands and that book looks so… ~handy~ *badumtish* 😂
it got handsy when I flipped to the perfect page at the store 😙😙😙 There’s a close up shot of the book when I talk about it! you can see the title on it 🌷
I found your channel the other day, and have been watching your videos literally whenever I can😂😂 I love your style, and also feel happy when hearing about Japan and Japanese words from you! Btw, you reminded me of my favorite book called "ミッケ!".

Hi! I love your video! Thank you for sharing; it is very helpful. I am traveling to Tokyo and I'm wondering if you happened to come across any crochet hooks. Where can I find them? Thank you so much!
Great video! I'm going to Tokyo very soon and I'm currently in my watercolor phase so this is great help :D Sekaido is already on my list so i'm excited!!
“Don’t you just love shopping for craft stuff that you might not ever use?”
Yes. Yes So Much.
There are two hobbies. One is crafting, the second is shopping for crafting things.
haha, so true. I have so many beads, but it's never enough. I need a separate room for my crafts, cause my room looks cluttered 😆
Yes, yes, Yes! I have drawers full of stuff I might not ever use!! My thing is Pens!⚠
You guys are lucky. My yarn keeps exploding. But at least my fountain pens still all fit in my one case. 🤣
I relate so much!! Hahaha
I fall into the shop for things to make crafts then abandon the craft. 😂
if this was a drinking game, "cute" would be deadly. honestly japan has such a huge stationary variety and options available; its def one of the reasons I want to go as an art n crafts lover
DONT PLAY THIS DRINKING GAME LOL
OMG SAMEE 😭 but i live like the other side of the world away from japan-
"so pretty" and "I love this" would also be killers
When I was in Japan I must have heard CUTE in conversations about 150x a day
That’s why I want to go to Japan. They have so much cool and cute things I want to buy it alllll. Also their cafes have themes, I especially want to visit a cat cafe
I live vicariously through these videos on the chance that someday i'll go on a stationery/art supply splurge in Tokyo!
Same!
It is wonderful when artists are supported that way by the community.

I live in Japan, so I'm blessed with many art stores, but my favorite is yours ♡Sadshrimps🌷💘
You’re so kind!! I’m so happy to hear that 🥰🥰🥰 I’ll make more stationery in the future~
love your genuine excitement over seeing the colors and designs of even some of the little and niche things haha I totally am the same at the store and its fun to vicariously through you until I can make my own Japan trip! Love your art and hope you had a great time!
Sometimes I am just happy youtube recommended me a new video to enjoy- this was so light hearted I enjoyed it so much! Very soothing!
Art, craft and stationery are my weakness. Always have been and always will be. And THANK YOU for making this video!!!!
I went to Japan in 2017 and if I knew about these art stores I would still be there now. I love Japanese stationary, they have everything imaginable and stuff that you never thought you needed.
living my artstore in tokyo dreams through this video... I love all the outfits you both wore throughout soo much!!
Tokyo art supply stores are the absolute bestest!! And i love that glass bottle book!
Totally agree! Out of all 5, I’d go back to these 2 😇😇

Ahh! I hope you get to go again 💗 I wonder if the stores have a similar concept or sell similar things even in a different country 😙
A stationery & art supplies store in Japan could bankrupt me! 😍
very interesting video, with some very interesting shopping ideas, thanks for sharing. (by the way sorry for what happened to you and wynn in the airport hope everyhting gets better soon for you both)
What happened to them?

Aaaah! Me too! ^_^
Ohh me too! Good to know Barbapapa was the actual name not just how I remembered it 😅

Yeah I can’t do digital calendars at all… can’t register them as actual things HAHAHA it will be my downfall 😵
Nice shopping haul! You use the front bits of the metal stand to fix book pages if you use it for books.
The silicone cups can be used to freeze portions of food or mold ice cream. Very handy.
I haven't thought about Barbapapa in so long, thank you for making me relive my memories lol

I’m going to Yokohama. My cousin lives there so your video is perfect for me and shopping

Loved this video so much! I hope to go to Japan next year. Can't wait!!!
You’re so fun! Yes. I love shopping for craft stuff that I will never use. Just ask my husband!

I have the crafting and visual arts skill of a mollusk. But I love these videos because of the way you present everything. Thanks for what you do
omfgggg I'M SURE YOURE FINE HAHAHA what a sweetheart :'-)
Oh I loved Barbapapa as a child but literally no one does know the series.
I was really surprised you mentioned it 😊
I will REFUSE to believe you brought that little in itoya, I BROUGHT SOOOOO MUCHHHHH!!

Very fun! I wil send you like to my daughter she spent a university year there.

Money well spend.

I would have absolutely WRECKED that acrylic gouache section! lol. Those tubes cost 4 times as much here in the US.
