I guess that's where he lost him.
YES you are right .. just a good product high priced and pair of unprepared ducks 🦆 CAUSE THEY DONT KNOW HOW TO WORK ACTUALLY NOR HAVE THE DIGITAL KNOWLEDGE FOR IT .. they just depending on some basics and not selling even
that is how you lose a great offer...let's hope it a blessing in disguise
@@RicJamesProductions I mean a RUclipsr did recently review this product (wasn't sponsored and he adored it). And this was filmed in the summer so I wonder their sales now 🤔
Exactly. Either they didn't know the answer or, and this is possibly worse, they didn't do their research on the sharks because I'm pretty sure Cuban would have been able to follow any techie answer they gave. Shot themselves in the foot here. Point blank.
At the end when they said they don't get how they didn't get an offer I literally laughed out loud. Business is more than an awesome pitch guys
Meanwhile, during the show, Mark asks a question trying to understand how the business works and they respond with “let’s not over complicate this” 💀😂
Product is the only thing that matters. They're just starting, how can you expect great sales so early? They can establish the business with proper guidance.
There's no point in investing thousands in a tremendously profitable business, they should help these budding guys instead.
He said that sentence because in the beginning everyone loved the product and suddenly when they hear sales they go like "It's nothing special". These are just excuses, if you want sales, don't talk bad about the product. If you love the product, why can't you invest and help them to kickstart?
@@_sayandas it’s pretty simple. They are looking to invest in a company with competent people running it, not just a product (they like almost every product on the show, btw). There obviously already very successful and not looking to run another company full time. The point of the show is to mentor and help talented entrepreneurs build there company and these guys were obviously lacking a whole lot of talent lmao. And this product wasn’t even that good😂
7:25
This is a great example of how things can turn from good to bad 😂
If they have a patent on the technology to resist the stains, they need to be focusing on licensing that technology to other companies rather than building a clothing brand.
*No they don't. I saw a video of similar thing years ago and it wasn't these guys I saw in that video.*
the pathent pending is on the collars xD they are never gonna get it... the argmentation is... They were right, they hit their target each of the next 6 quarters and crossed the million dollar mark just for the year 2021
they did? wooooo Amazing
A big part of that was the advertisement they got for being on Shark Tank
Cool
BECAUSE of Shark Tank, that's the ONLY reason why.
@@Moon_Presence only reason? The product is amazing too
They blew it....dudes needed to be prepared for questions and allow each other to speak.
The shirt is amazing, and sells itself. However they dropped the ball in explaining the business side of this for an investor. I think they need to change their prices and target the large department stores which will allow bulk orders
They might have to change the cotton type to accomplish a sizable price decrease. Pima cotton is legit, and pricey for a reason.
nah, the stain repelling property can;t be demostrated in the racks of department stores, it's a social media product.
@@simonbutler377 i agree.. plus they've had sprays that do the same technology for years. Can literally coat anything with it, which is why he struggled to explain their process. Their pitch was cringy and their communication was awful. Nice shirts tho lol

The game of the "thieves masters" (.)
Lmao the way Robert just got free intel from them about how they make their shirts for his own company then backing out
Basically lmao he's going to buttercloth and letting them know the tech and will make this brand nonexistent
I absolutely agree and you can't blame him, he is a shark after all lol. But those Buttercloth Icy Cotton Polos are game changing. They are pricey, but you can literally feel the cooling fibers when you wear them.
There are tons of companies that use cost their fabrics in some sort of formula during the manufacturing process to make them stain resistant. He’s just gonna go find their competitors, make an exclusive deal and take over that market.
Shark at its finest
It's not the krabby patty secret formula, this technology is been used for decades
Literally just needed to say how they get customer's attention, how they manage that relationship digitally, what digital marketing tools they use to convert to sale, how they nurture repeat sales. All they said was we use Facebook ads and sometimes Instagram. When a customer clicks do they buy from a landing page? Do they go to their website or amazon or shopify store? Do they follow up via email? Do they use fb data to re target ads for follow up sales...
Also, how durable is the stain repellant treatment? Can you wash with any detergent? Is there anything you can't wash with... Probably lots of this needs better communication to convert more sales
The pitch was not the problem. They needed to listen, interprete, and leverage the opportunities thrown at them via questions.
Agreed. I found the raised hands and let’s not overcomplicate response a bit defensive bordering on dismissive rather than assured.
Yeah, I wonder why they didn't answer the question? Cuban was just asking how they advertise
They got too caught up in the pitch and didn't realize what was being asked before was too late. Hopefully they realize and adjust
interpret*
The thing is they don't own the technology
This mean anyone can create the same business
I believe Mark was in it for them to win it but they could not answer his question because they were not prepared. If you are going to come on a show like this make sure you are able to answer the top questions about your product. These sharks want to know how you think ahead of the game of everyone else if they are going to invest their time their money and their reputation. Be prepared
YES you are right .. just a good product high priced and pair of unprepared ducks 🦆 CAUSE THEY DONT KNOW HOW TO WORK ACTUALLY NOR HAVE THE DIGITAL KNOWLEDGE FOR IT .. they just depending on some basics and not selling even
This!! You have to know the inherent issues of your product.
It’s also a lot on the product. These sharks could easily hire consultants to team up with the entrepreneurs and help them up their game but the problem is that these polo shirts are very competitive in the market. There are a few below average pitching but get good deals on shark tank for example
Your average consumer is not going to pay $98 for a polo shirt.
The average consumer doesn’t have even 500 dollars in savings. They shouldn’t be buying iPhones, however they do
The fact that the person in the white shirt kept on interrupting his partner just shows how they didn't quite talk it through beforehand, but more wants to get things get done his way.
been looking for this comment. I felt bad for the other guy
Tough day at the office but it was (for me at least) pretty obvious that Mark was very interested, and I was shaking my head at the answer(s) they were giving him to his question, it was almost like digital marketing wasn't their specialty and were just trying to finesse their way around that explanation. @Digby Dooright duh . If it’s polo it’s going to be pretty high .
They should focus on fast food workers and companies like that etc. they would love to get uniforms like this for the workers
There is no way in hell any fast food company would give their workers $98 shirts, nor should they.
It's not the shirt they need, it's the shirt they deserve
Why would any fast food corporation buy premium uniforms for expendable minimum wage employees that are in an industry of high turn-over rates. If you aren't a high class restaurant, you'll go out of business for being stupid and buying these products. Besides, corporations don't care at all about their employees so pitching this stuff to them would NEVER work.
@@xlncy No it’s not, because cheap shirts work perfectly fine for fast food jobs.

These shirts are coated with a water/liquid-repellent chemical (hydrophobic chemicals). This chemical/technology has been used for at least 15-20 years for coating fabric, boots, paper so that they don't get destroyed. You can buy it in spray form pretty cheaply. I came across it at least 15 years ago in form of spray coating for workmen's shoes. This is not new and certainly requires no research and development. In fact, there is some concern over the hazardous effects of these chemicals once they seep into the earth. Probably because of legal environmental issues big clothing manufacturers did not run with it.
