Dying light 2 has smoother combat a better variety of moves you can do and it actually has that horror aspect. More zombie variants all with different abilities. More weapons and mods. Better weapon and zombie designs. Although the physics and graphics are better in dead island it’s still not that far off especially considering they were made like a year and a half to 2 years apart. As far as the story that’s a little more opinion based

I dont understand. Dying light 2 only uses like 3 zombie models, but why doesnt it have this much gore? Dead island 2 had so many zombie model variants yet it had a much better gore system. The designs are even better as they look like real people by the way they dress. In DL2, all zombies look the same, yet the gore system is much less detailed.

The movement in DI2 is great, I can actually make pretty accurate movements without having to overcorrect myself. The gunplay is better than the first as well and my goodness, the variety in zombies compared to the first is great. The enviornment is grand, and chalked full of goodies to scratch that itch of all completionists. I've made my friends come over from DL1-2. and they've even said it's more enjoyable than DL2. I also prefer the skill system of DI2 over DL2, you can make more precise builds. and can swap them up on the fly. Adventuring around the areas and competing side quests rewards you with actual meaningful things, like skill cards. The NPC's also feel more personable. and you can see your attempts to help them throughout the game, I can't say if it impacts much as I've not gone back enough times to verify that, but being able to see those that I've helped in safe locations is great detail to attention. That and DI2 actually looks and runs great on launch, compared to DL2... and I have a 40 series before you try to say anything.
