Ichigo taking down three lieutenants bare-handed is one of the biggest flexes in Bleach. I think that establishes him as a Captain-level threat even more efficiently than having him actually go toe-to-toe with a Captain.
Even if 1 of them in particular doesnt make much sense. But we can just assume he was caught off guard

imagine being thousands of years old, having thousands of years worth of experience and achieving bankai only to get bodied by some 17 year old kid that unlocked his bankai in three days. This is why I never like main characters of any anime

Ichigo is Floating because of the Cloak the Yoruichi gave him. I'm not sure if y'all noticed but Both the Cloak and the Weapon that Ukitake used to destroy the Phoenix both have Yoruichi's family seal on because they both belong to her family.

I dont think so, and by the way, at some point everyone will start floating and they will not explain this. I think Ishida will mention some quincy technique, but that is all.

In Japanese mythology, Shinigami, or Soul Reapers as the dub names them, are associated with the colour black. E.g. Ryuk from Death Note. Kubo was originally going to call the manga "Snipe", as all the Shinigami used guns in the first draft, but he decided to stick to swords. Then he thought "White" should be the title as the Hollows are white and the opposite of Shinigami. But he settled on "Bleach," another English word for White. He always planned to have the title be a single English word to make it stand out in Japan.
Now I want to watch Bleach but with guns.

Rukia is nothing like Sakura even in this arc when they have to rescue her, Rukia lost her powers in the first chapter and then in the soul society they used methods to absorb her spiritual energy, but she is still relevant to the plot beyond of being the one the protagonist must rescue. Not even Orihime, who is often a supposedly "useless" character due to her sweet and non-violent personality. Sometimes she plays a filler character, but someone has to be one, she and Chad share that condition.

Yoruichis family, a very old one with very cool artifacts, like the flying wing she had, the cape, the shield etc

Yoruichi is the real mvp of this saga, even when she is not on screen, she is helping out some way, cause she definitly gave that to Ukitake

- "Ichigo is so far away" Well we the viewers have no perception as to how far away Ichigo was. We know he was training and he had a certain amount of time left, but we don't know when he finished or how far away he was from the Hill. (Plus he had the special flying item from Yoruichi)
So let's talk about the name Bleach lol. So the author, Tite Kubo was originally gonna call the show Black. Since it's written as a manga in black and white, Kubo kinda incorporated that into the show. Captains wear mostly white, regular reapers wear mostly black, and hollows will usually play with that a little bit too. So he was gonna call it Black but thought it was a little generic, was gonna call it White but instead went with Bleach. I'm pretty sure its supposed to represent soul reapers cleansing hollows when they kill them.
One thing a lot of people forget is that Ichigo actually "floated" for like a second while fighting Orihime's brother in the early episodes.
The characters are actually able to stand on the air by utilizing the spirit particles in the air and essentially form “platforms” to stand on. You’ll see more of it as the show goes on.
They can't in the Sereitei though, they never do it there so thats why they assume they can't. Heck Ichigo only does it once in the whole prior arc and its super fast.

Most older anime have good pacing as well. It's mainly just anime by Pierrot(the studio behind Naruto and Bleach) and Toei(the studio behind Dragon Ball and One Piece) that don't.
Most older anime also weren't long running weekly shows that didn't have to worry about doing filler

Kubo, the mangaka first title he came up with was Black, but as he explained in an interview, he felt that it was too simple a title, as was the inversion, "White." So, Kubo changed "White" to Bleach, referring to how he "bleached" the black clothes of the Reapers to give his new shonen manga an unexpected name.
Its not his Bankai but it will come. Just like Goku. His base power is just a lot higher now.

I just finished TYBW Part 2 yesterday, now that arc is pretty awesome but man, nothing feels quite as good as the soul society arc.

soul reapers can just stand in the air! They manipulate the ambient reishi to gain traction on nothing! They’ve been doing it since the start of the series! Idk how reactors keep forgetting this xD ( granted ichigo did arrive their so quickly because of the flying cloak BUT STILL )

Sakura isn't trash because of bad writing for wombmen...Hinata, Tsunade, Temari, Karin, Kushina were all written extremely well. Sakura is trash because her skill set is trash compared to the speed and skill sets of everybody around them in Shippuuden. Sakura is the equivalent of Ultra Trunks, really strong but too slow to actually hit anybody that matters...which during and after the Pein Arc, that would be everybody.

The shield thing and Ichigo’s cloak both have the same creat of Yoruichi’s family, which one of the 4 noble houses. Byakuya’s family is one of those nobles. Ganju’s family; Shiba we’re originally one of those families back when there were 5. The 5 families help form the Soul Society, hence why they’re a big deal.
I've been waiting a long time to comment this, but Chris beat me to it, but I'll say it, before that scene where Naruto shows up with the squad this was the almost equivalent version of that to me. I remember when me and my older brother saw this back in '06 and we saw Ichigo show up to save Rukia we were so hyped.

I NEVER even questioned why Bleach is called Bleach after watching ALL of it. 😂
you never find out the title of the show from the show. I'm sure there is a legitimate answer, I just don't want to go searching for it. I always thought it was called Bleach because soul reapers purify the spirit of hollows, essentially bleaching their souls. There are also a lot of themes in the show focused on the color white.
Okay, so three Shikai's were revealed.
Marechiyo's, the lieutenant with the purple collar, zanpakuto's name is Gegetsuburi (which translates to "Five-Formed Head").
Chōjirō's, the head captain's lieutenant, zanpakuto's name is Gonryōmaru (which translates to "Stern Spirit")
And Isane's, the lieutenant with the two braids, zanpakuto's name is Itegumo (which translates to "Frozen Cloud").
For the pacing issue people compare live action tv all the time but overlook that even walking in a room and talking cost time animation wise. Pacing is slow cause you just gotta draw a lot. Sometimes I think westerners aren’t able to comprehend this. Their animated shows like sponge bob or family guy don’t animate the same. Also you went backwards. You went from hype seasonal short series to old shows. Of course your noticing tropes and annoyed of pacing. Just enjoy the other aspects. Saying nothing happened till now in the most loved arc is like how people are saying jjk shyibua incident is slow and nothing is happening in its best arc. People’s expectations surpassed what is humanly possible or something. Maybe we need ai to just mass produce fast shows lol.

If you bleach black hair it will turn orange you have to add other chemicals like a lightener to get blonde. However most likely the title refers to turning dark to light as a general concept same as yin and yang.

As afar as I know Kubo has never confirmed why its called Bleach. People around him have said that its called Bleach because originally had had several possible names based on the appearance of the Shinigami and settled on Black, but either that was in use or he was unsatisfied with it. so he changed the name to White but that had the same problems... so he chosen Bleach because that is associated with the color white.
If we explain why its called bleech then the anime becomes more simpler to understand but also more confusing.
Huh, reading the comments has taught me the actual origin of the name Bleach. I had always assumed it was a reference to Ichigo’s hair.
If you bleach black hair without any toner, it tends to turn that shade of orange - one of the reasons Ichigo has gotten so tough at fighting is because people always assume he’s bleaching his hair to look cool, and in Japan (especially in the time period the manga premiered in), any youth who bleaches/dyes their hair from it’s natural black is kinda considered a delinquent who’s asking for trouble by trying to stand out. Ichigo gets discriminated against on sight and considered a ruffian by fellow kids and authority figures alike for these reasons, even though it’s his natural hair color.
Not me thinking this whole time that the title was a tongue-in-cheek reference to that dichotomy and how it can be applied to the larger narrative as a whole.

Why is Bleach anime called Bleach?
After that, the series was meant to be named "Black" due to the color of the Soul Reapers' clothes, but Kubo thought the title was too generic. He later tried the name of "White", but came to like "Bleach" more for its association with the color white and that he did not find it too obvious.
Series is Bleach to involk the concept of White, which is lore important for spoiler reasons.
Just think of how Hollow Ichigo is a White Colored Ichigo.
since this was reacted to like 4 months ago I'll assume you've seen Ichigo use bankai after which byakuya gets angry claiming that small sword isn't bankai. The reason byakuya says this is while most bankais become giant specticals like the giant samurai titan or the scientist's yellow poison baby ichigo's tensa zangetsu just looks like a normal sword and byakuya assumed Ichigo was shit talking by instead of going from shikai to bankai he went from shikai to its sealed normal form and calling it a bankai to fuck with him and disrespect the soul society saying bankai ain't shit

To add to the other comments on the title. After he went through other titles then settled on bleach for a couple reasons. Bleach is meant to be another word for white or cleanse. The idea is the soul reapers cleanse the souls of the hollows when they kill them. They are there to maintain balance and order even if it means they are a necessary evil. That’s what it means. To keep things pure. So the tittle reflex’s that as it’s about cleaning and purifying.
Ichigo is spirit technically so floating isn’t a crazy idea
