It might seem sweet, but Dwight wasn't being "sweet." The joke is that Dwight refuses to find the guy unattractive because Dwight too has a broad face (and maybe other similar physical features). It characterizes Dwight as being confident yet egoistic, which are in-tune with how his character was written early on in the series, before they started to make him more dynamic.

Most of the other women in the office are out of Jim’s league, mainly because of the age difference, but in the episode when there was a fire in the office they all said they were attracted to him. Angela seemed to be the only one that didn’t find him attractive because he was lazy.
You know, I've always been curious about that. I'm straight so I have horrible attractive-man radar and wondered if this haircut was doing it for him. I actually think Rain (Dwight) looked good in his early years.

Apparently Cathy’s actress still gets viciously harassed today for what she “did to Jim”. Are people _really_ becoming too deranged and dim to understand what acting is? Because she’s not the first example of this I’ve heard of, I think a woman who portrayed some villain in Game of Thrones was another.
Dwight was always seconds best character on the show, after, of course, Michael, even with latter not being in the last 2 seasons. Jim was like a main background character for me as he never made a punchline to the joke i found funnier compare to other two, he was just always setting up the joke for Michael or Dwight to react or say something funny. Along with Pam, Jim and her's whole story arc was always in the back going, but it did not matter much to me compared to Michael's story . Creed was third, or he would've been if he was given more lines, but even with so less screentime, he made his mark on the show.
I just want to appreciate the dedication of whoever runs this channel. You could just sit back and relax as we replay the old videos. But no, you consistently bring us joy by choosing to post new ones. You're a real one.
