That particular encounter you were not prepared for at the end is a rather special duck lord encounter honestly that's stronger than other duck lord encounters. Fight is honestly near IS4 final boss level for the amount of BS it is. Luckily the encounter has a rather special scene picture so it's easy to identify as an encounter you don't want to touch with low prep. If you got monstrous artifacts/team though that fight that steam rolled you on floor 5 is actually incredibly lucrative because it'll grant you 3 artifacts for dealing with the map leakless.
@@JamesP7 he's never worth picking up over Jaye and Ethan, now to be fair, there are more IS stages where Verdant is more useful than Rope, Shaw, Gravel and THRM-EX, but if you want a generalist then you already have Jaye and if you want a semi immortal dps you already got Ethan
@@GBlockbreaker I find blocking and building DP more valuable in the first few floors. Jaye I only found excellent in IS2, while Ethan is only necessary if you need melee AOE damage. Neither one is worth it in IS4, as Collapsals will either be in the air, deal fast and high damage, or will swiftly run past your operators. Plus Verdant is excellent for baiting.
One thing that would help A LOT is raising your 3 stars. Theyre extremely cheap to level, and so much better then the IS 3 stars. I recommend at least leveling ansel/hibiscus, fang, midnight, spot, kroos, steward and orchid.
@@JarediannTulip is broken btw. ALWAYS get her when she pops up, even if you are already set on vanguards. She has a great DPS skill and can even hit arial enemies or enemies 2 tiles away with. She makes good work for those annoying hovering seaborn in IS3.
IS4 is definitely a learning experience. By that I mean, learning how smooth my brain is. I did finally get my first clear recently. Which means little, since it's the basic bitch difficulty. But as a few tips from the struggle it's worth considering using a Support unit from the run starter packs (orange button, top right) to grab a core powerhouse. I have an old account but came back in the last month, so I missed a ton of the wacky OP units (Tho I did pull Zuo Le and Chongyue, which was useful), but have a lot of older gen operators built out. Picking a Degen support basically enabled that first win, with a couple late game grabs that also saved the day. And the first win finally got the roguelite upgrade tree rolling, which has helped out on its own right. Also never underestimate how fucking useful Deepcolor is early on, just on her adding bodies to block and distract enemies with while also being a source of low dp cost arts damage. And doing so at a hope cost of 2. Just a really great support unit to get through the early floors and build up the team proper. Also: at the very least, the more you crash and burn, the better you get at feeling out what the roster you have can take in terms of combat encounters. At least that's my cope.
8:00 From my experience, it's best to use this combination on shops because all the recruitment tickets you buy there will will give you free unit. And if you combine the same color like you did, there's also a chance of getting free 6*
Ah yes, going unprepared into that Ducklord stage is something. Just the first look at what is already there and is spawning and immidiatly starts walking to you ^^ Also trying to get get Typhon on E2 befor the first Boss will make any First Boss sooo much easier Her S3 kills all of them in no time.
That was an incredible run after only attempting this game mode a few times. And hey, even a loss gets you closer to that all-important Typhon skin. I think you're really getting the hang of this!
Some advice: You can check the range on some skills by pressing the plus tile button next to the skill when the ops are on the field it will show red striped titles indicating the range. Hope this helps even a little.
Another good tip for IS4 specifically. This IS really punishes you for not having a good ground unit due to the large swarms of fast moving enemies. So having OP's like Texas or Typhon won't help you much if there isn't anyone to keep enemies in their range. It's also the reason why this is the only IS where regular defenders are actually useful, as opposed to the previous iterations where pure blocking didn't have much value.
For IS4 , honestly my best shot were starting with Vanguard, and choosing Ines right away. Even more so when you get the "Vanguard has a chance to be randomly promoted". Then as soon as you get a Guard ticket, you get Qiubai . Preferably you have masteries on these two , but for Qiubai you want S1M3 and S3M3 , and Ines I personally use S2. AsPD + Camouflage is great. Also those two can both hit aerial enemies, and they bind enemies , which help a lot in IS4. Quibai also has a talent that increase her damage against bound (and slowed) enemies. And there is a relic that increase the duration of those status. Now yes, Typhon is amazing there as well , but early on the two i mentionned are more usable , more so Ines with S2 lv7 being good enough, and she provide both dps and DP. Ines can also act like a makeshift fast redeploy as well, if needed. From there its just....bring your best Operator, GG as usual is god in IS content with global range (and her s3 slows a bit...which Qiubai can use for more damage). The Temporary Op thats free is a good way , however, to play and discover how some 4 stars (and i believe it can sometimes be 5stars) operator plays , even if you didnt build them up, but since its random, its not as reliable as starting with a good core operator. Now i heard you with "Lord brain mindset" But sadly here Thorn doesnt perform as well, Enemies tend to rush you early and his S3 takes enough time to charge that I'd rather just stick to Typhon for ranged DPS with an infinite skill. Silverash is okay i guess, Lappland wouldn't add much, her silence is not as required in IS4 . You can also start your run borrowing someone's support operator , you could technically just forego using Ines at the start if you wanted to use an operator which you do not have. A good pick can be Gnosis , low cost, good damage, he freeze enemies. I would not advise starting with Mlynar , but he is also one of the more powerful operator for IS in general. Outside of that its all about favorites and whatnot , provided they are decently good in general. The content does not cost sanity and is a great place to try out all sort of operator , early stage of progression in IS is just learning how the stage plays out , what certain enemies do, their pathing etc. IS4 gets better the more you learn about it, and it end up rather easy until you start doing the higher difficulties (12+ )
Clearing IS 4 was so fun to me. After you play enough you just remember every detail about every stage so you won't make mistakes like at 2:40 . Have fun, I did, it's not that hard, it's just the right amount of difficult
Much better! I also lost a few times due to being greedy with special stages (are usually hard). You'll get upgrades and more map knowledge as you play through, you will eventually beat the thing.
IS rarely introduces new stage mechanics, so playing old events can help inform you on how the mechanics of various enemies, tiles, and effects work. For example: the wind vents are present in Darknights Memoir iirc, dominion is present with the emperor's blade boss units (kal'tsit's event has one iirc), the wild animals with directional indicators is from the Monster Hunter Collab (unplayable lol). The Rhine enemies are quite common along with the Saria event enemies.
That last level got me good when I first tried it. Be lucky you encountered it though, it took me many weeks of grinding to find it even once (completing my photo gallery), and it took many more weeks to get it again. Pretty sure it has a low chance of being encountered.
Building all 3 star and below ops is worth for IS. And there are 4/5 stars that shine in respective IS modes, such as Kroos Alter for IS3. You may just look up a few videos or tier lists for recommended IS ops. There are plenty of 6 stars that work well in general, like Texas Alter and Yato Alter.
Also consider just running the squad with 20 originium ingot and hope surplus and rush to the first shop and just investing. I personally don't do that cause i savor every run and i am already at max IS battlepass level but i've seen people below my level that already has maxed investment while i trudge slowly in sub 400 territory. Yeah investment is a big buff to the shop, i recommend grinding investment with that tactic to get it outta your mind, and max is 500 ingots so you got a LOT to go lol. 2:37 Also also this map has a cheat tile for the jetpack guys to not actually fly and instead fall to their demise. You see the bottom airflow vent? You see that it blows upward and the air only touches one ranged tile in the middle there? Place a ranged unit, make sure a healer or a defender healer can heal it, and voila. The jetpack guys will stop to shoot that operator occasionally instead of running, and without full momentum from the run, will not be able to fly.

i highly recommend getting all your 3 stars leveled up, especially Ansel is really useful in IS because of his massive range on skill Tulip is actually part of a handful of IS exclusive 5 stars (the others being Stormeye, Pith, Sharp and Touch), most of which are part of Rhodes Island's Elite Operator squad which Blaze and Rosmontis are also part of Touch, Tulip and Stormeye are incredibly strong with Touch being a contender for best medic in the entire game, i recommend picking those 3 up whenever they show their faces Sharp and Pith are good too but but nowhere near as busted as the other 3, but they do cost 0 hope to recruit so usually it's worth taking them too when they show up going into Encounter nodes is always a gamble and generally never worth it, best case scenario you get a special battle you can win, worst case scenario you get nothing, it's best to use Foldartals to replace them with something useful or just avoid them altogether also U-Official is pretty useful on floor 1 and even 2 in case you don't get a medic voucher, i would recommend taking her over Orchid or the reserve Caster early on, just make sure to deploy her first to avoid the stun, on later floors she drops off hard but can still be used as a stun grenade on melee enemies if need be
Another tip that you might not use but may come in handy if you ever use it, the lightsaber guys in the first boss is considerably strong but their health will drain if you move them. So pullers and pusher can bite half of their HP off. Not recommended to hyperfixate on since pusher and pullers are less useful or powerful overall but if you get them from free recruitment you can employ that trick. And the rocket carts in the same stage from the upper spawn is 3 block. Either put a defender in front o the upper blue box (keep this in mind) or burst them down. Though on the occasion that you didn't burst them with Texalter you seem to just let them go and wave bye bye to your life points lmao
just adding another info to this already nice tip, the rocket car is very susceptible against arts damage (0 res), making most caster able to spawn camp them since they idle so long near their spawn.
If you have Reed Alter or borrow her, her s2 can easily handle the early floors combined with Popukar plus Orchid. Plus her s3 DECIMATES the one of the final boss mechanics, she’s super optimal.
Another thing to note, If you want to maximize as much points as you can during a run. Don't shy away from Emergency Operations, Unless you know it's absolutely a horrible match up with what you currently have. Try and take Bosky Passages as well. They count as their own floors which give a good sum of points; They can get a bit quirky ~~at night~~ but usually it's worth it. You have to be smart with spending Anti-index as well. Two to four is where you'll mostly be throughout runs, Which can dictate most optional things requiring them. Always recruit a free operator as well, When given the chance. If you're not planning on spending hope. Steps taken, Collectibles, and Combat Nodes are taken into account as well but that's overall up to how the layout and run goes. Boss fights are a given as well with points, Meaning you obviously want to finish runs.
what i choose to start always if i dont choose the difficulty of braving nature 6+, i choose Special training squad, and first move advantage. I take Dorothy, kroos, and vanilla as my starting ops. and its really easy. Now the reason why i say not to do this if you go 6+ difficulty, is cause at 6, it increased the amount of hope by 1 to recruit anything above 4 stars
Personally I don't like picking the random ops starting, cuz it's random. That's just me being lazy, so don't mind me. For investment you can just pick the squad that give a lot of ingots, go to shop, invest until you can't, restart. Ines for vg, degen or executor for guard, texas or yato for specialist, Jessica for defender, reed alt for healer, typhon or pozy for sniper. My usual pick.
Virtuosa is a pretty good unit to start with in IS4. The map at 1:50 for instance just her passive Necrosis will wipe most of the enemies before they break their chains.
Dominion/The Black Mist irreversibly taints the land and space it affects with Collapsal Pollution. Operators are debuffed with -50 lowered aspd up to -75. You can also check your Collapsal Paradigm at any time when clicking the top middle Anti-index with the Numbers. Foldartals are a one time use thing on the floor you're on, unless stated that it gives one back. You usually want to try and trigger a concord by using ones of the same color, To get an extra bonus. "Envoy of Justice" the stage you lost to, Was also a run ender for me the first time I tried it blind. I got steamrolled pretty hard because I was also on a high difficulty, Which didn't help.
Idk if you have her or if she's built but Lin could've saved you that level her talent allows her to ignore damage under a certain amount and does big aoe arts damage and could've soloed the large group and mech guys with her s3
lil suggestion from me though, if you plan to play more IS game (specifically IS 2, 3, and 4) you should upgrade your 3* unit, they make things easier to manage. i recommend popukar, fang, steward, ansel, and cardigan. and yeah, that ducklord level is just awful
Don’t feel too discouraged. This is usually how IS goes. The first several runs is dedicated to learning the maps. Once you have a general knowledge of how the enemies path, the game mode becomes significantly easier and more enjoyable. Good luck!
I put off playing IS4 when it came out for a good 3 months cause i found it too hard (i had maxed IS2 and 3 already) and 1 month later after i tried it again i got better enough to consistenly clear ending 1 and 2, only ending 3 and 4 are pure RNG and skill check, character investment also important, both 3* and some 4* are more desirable than some 6*, good luck, you learn as you go (by losing a lot) its called "long term exploration" for a reason
The difficulty of IS is peak the moment you just start playing it. I like using Typhon + gummy + lava as my starter team, and I'll use the ranged specialist team (cheaper casters and snipers). This IS seems tough at first, and it's true the more you play the more you know what to expect from the levels and which levels you want to avoid/take. Not sure if you have typhon, but starting off with her makes the mode a lot easier (skill 2 is particularly good for most levels). Ofc, typical of IS it does get easier as you unlock passives, so it'll get easier over time because: 1) you're learning the levels 2) you're passively getting stronger I've learned to like this IS too, and listening to that 1 insane background song! That being said, there are some levels that just straight up murder my run and I have not learned to deal with... the robot level for instance, the closest I get with dealing with it is having Typhon S2 on the top left tile. You can hold onto at least 1 foldertal combo which swaps out a combat level for something benign like a scout-tile and if you get a tough level, swap it out, and pray the game isn't trolling you with the red version of the same level further down your chosen path. But, such random things make the mode fun, and your next run will be better :D
nice run and a sizeable improvement considered u had among the worst 4 stars in the game like verdant and gitano. also mattherhorn is only good against arts and if u have nightingale with s2 hes just redundant. dont get why random 4 star ops are better than the ops u have even if maxed. U have typhoon so the best start is the defender/caster/sniper cause covers u eventually if u have bad luck with medic voucher early on. Infact if u take spot right away he will cover heal and tank aspect and then sub in Shu as soon as possible. for a good run is important to perfect the first floor so u get a good stack of hope. also Ines, being functional even at e1 with s2, solves alone alot of the rushy stages and buys alot of time for u to deploy the expensive ops faster.
@@abrahamwijaya6631 if u have nithingale, as he does, arts damage is not a concern anymore. Also to smooth IS's inital experience doesnt make sense to use random 4 stars instead all the 6 stars he has already that also happen to be the best choices in this mode.
Um I'm no teacher tbh. I'm just a launch player with a sh*t ton of 6* ops at E2... I probably have only like 8 5* units at E2 and barely use them (btw upgraded 5* units are just because they're cool and I like them) The only 4* I use are Myrtle and maybe Gravel. I just use 3* for IS4 starting stages and just transition to 6* every time.. I'm kinda stuck at difficulty 11, but I kinda don't care to beat it...
Can you please just max build the 3 star now especially: kroos, all medics like ansel and hibiscus, fang, plume, all guard, orchid, cardigan or just all defender and all the caster especially steward🙏🥺 Please, your action today need correction and Pronto! Tips
You can play Runs just to Unlock Squads or complete a certain challenge
like in 0:23
-Clear the 3rd floor
-earn 200 OI
-etc
or do normal runs while having them in mind
if u can do them without Effecting the Run, do them
cause some will help later for example my personal favorite is Special Training Squad
which Give your +3 Shields and Promoting Ops for free (which is huge if u are always low on hope)
Another thing for Life Points and Shields
both are different
if you lost shields the battle still counts as Perfect
But If u lost LP you Get +Collapse and lose the perfect streak if u have one
little personal Suggestions
Degen S1 / S3 if promote (Her S3 makes her invis for any boss that can stun with hits, so basically a must)
Arturia S1 or S3 depend on stage
Shu/Saria S1 or S3 Depend on Stage (if u want burst healing or Continuous healing)
EyjaBerry If u have her
Kal for Lane holding
Texas/Yato Alter will be Super Helpful (Both Even Better)

Sharp and Pith are good too but but nowhere near as busted as the other 3, but they do cost 0 hope to recruit so usually it's worth taking them too when they show up
going into Encounter nodes is always a gamble and generally never worth it, best case scenario you get a special battle you can win, worst case scenario you get nothing, it's best to use Foldartals to replace them with something useful or just avoid them altogether
also U-Official is pretty useful on floor 1 and even 2 in case you don't get a medic voucher, i would recommend taking her over Orchid or the reserve Caster early on, just make sure to deploy her first to avoid the stun, on later floors she drops off hard but can still be used as a stun grenade on melee enemies if need be
Another tip that you might not use but may come in handy if you ever use it, the lightsaber guys in the first boss is considerably strong but their health will drain if you move them.
Yea that's why I realized I should've put my defender in the top lane instead, but I wasn't aware of the lightsaber tip, very cool!
If you have Reed Alter or borrow her, her s2 can easily handle the early floors combined with Popukar plus Orchid. Plus her s3 DECIMATES the one of the final boss mechanics, she’s super optimal.
typhon so OP
Boss fights are a given as well with points, Meaning you obviously want to finish runs.
dude you really getting better, congrats
@@galuhdesuka7378 thank you!
@@Jarediann your last run looks pretty clean. Better luck next time though, you can do it
Once you learn the stages it won't be so hard.
what i choose to start always if i dont choose the difficulty of braving nature 6+, i choose Special training squad, and first move advantage.
Krill issues
Virtuosa is a pretty good unit to start with in IS4. The map at 1:50 for instance just her passive Necrosis will wipe most of the enemies before they break their chains.
Never ever eve challenges the Duck Lord in level 3,4,5 he is never alone wait until you face the gank of all animals😊 see you in the next video bro💅
Jar.

It didn't happen at all.
The mechs are stun immune
Jar
wait until he encounter 6(or 4?) "normal enemies"
This would have been ten times worse without texalter.
Correct
You should get Typhoon skin no matter what
That's the plan hopefully
lil suggestion from me though, if you plan to play more IS game (specifically IS 2, 3, and 4) you should upgrade your 3* unit, they make things easier to manage.
i recommend popukar, fang, steward, ansel, and cardigan.
and yeah, that ducklord level is just awful
See even people asking this😢
IS Pro tip: NEVER MESS WITH DUCK LORD above floor 3
the stages are just a troll, its not worth the risk, reward, and the hassle.
also Jar
Duck lord is fine, unless it's the sp stage where all the duck lord gang come for party, then it's not fine.
@@porokichin7878Yeah, the duck lord and crying thief stages are free. It’s the Gopnik stage that ends runs when unprepared.
You should really build at least one 3-star from each class. You never wanna take reserve operators, they're so bad
you choosing shu over hoshiguma made me lose faith in you
Same!!!!!!🤔
Heaven's forfend! It's like my 5th run!
just watch ur first is lol
Jar?
Don’t feel too discouraged. This is usually how IS goes. The first several runs is dedicated to learning the maps. Once you have a general knowledge of how the enemies path, the game mode becomes significantly easier and more enjoyable. Good luck!
Yooooo wtf Texas really is easy mode huh...
As a certified yato alter simp.... This pains me
I put off playing IS4 when it came out for a good 3 months cause i found it too hard (i had maxed IS2 and 3 already) and 1 month later after i tried it again i got better enough to consistenly clear ending 1 and 2, only ending 3 and 4 are pure RNG and skill check, character investment also important, both 3* and some 4* are more desirable than some 6*, good luck, you learn as you go (by losing a lot) its called "long term exploration" for a reason
Ofc, typical of IS it does get easier as you unlock passives, so it'll get easier over time because:
1) you're learning the levels
2) you're passively getting stronger
I've learned to like this IS too, and listening to that 1 insane background song!
Funny how people say gitano yeah she kinda but verdant?
Did you use him correctly? He meant to tank arts damage
@@abrahamwijaya6631 if u have nithingale arts damage its not a concern anymore.
@@abrahamwijaya6631 if u have nithingale, as he does, arts damage is not a concern anymore. Also to smooth IS's inital experience doesnt make sense to use random 4 stars instead all the 6 stars he has already that also happen to be the best choices in this mode.
You are doing great. Cheer up
3:26 ansel and hibiscus are better than that operator; because they have a skill unlike that one
This man doesn't have all low star fully build 😅
No wonder he bring the NPC medic😂
@@abrahamwijaya6631ah I didn’t notice
Welcome to the pain
Um I'm no teacher tbh. I'm just a launch player with a sh*t ton of 6* ops at E2... I probably have only like 8 5* units at E2 and barely use them (btw upgraded 5* units are just because they're cool and I like them)
The only 4* I use are Myrtle and maybe Gravel.
I just use 3* for IS4 starting stages and just transition to 6* every time..
I'm kinda stuck at difficulty 11, but I kinda don't care to beat it...
IS4 the higher level you get the easier it gets
Can you please just max build the 3 star now especially: kroos, all medics like ansel and hibiscus, fang, plume, all guard, orchid, cardigan or just all defender and all the caster especially steward🙏🥺
Please, your action today need correction and Pronto!
Luckily IS5 make four star can be recruit using 0 hope therefore some of your options is good.😊
If you want to beat the whole thing only use six stars unless it's a medic or vanguard. Need your carry to be E2 before first boss.
