Thanks for sharing this with us man! I put this together last night and have an absolute blast with it. I love chain lighting but couldn’t find a build that maximizes consistent output without having mana issues. You’re a genius man.
Thanks for sharing this build. Ive really enjoy chain lightning, I tried respecting to lightning spear, just didn’t have the right gear. I got lucky with a AV drop, it’s nice to find a build that compliments it. The mana regain is insane! It’s nice not to run out. Thank you
@@lonmeasley752 what i dont like about this version is the very low cooldown reduction since you miss out on shakos CD, 12 seconds cooldown on teleport is just very much and I dont see it get reduced much if at all in your gameplay by other CD reducing interactions.
Worth noting is the higher your max health the less mana you get back. i.e. 10k hp will proc mana return twice as often as 20k hp. I'm running a similar build and found that pushing max hp too high to avoid being one shot could sometimes leave me with mana issues.
Have yo try this. I really like the new chain unique. Season 5 i started a sorc and drop the unique in the first cache from season reward. It was level 18. Later i changed to fireball because i dropped the uniques and in the end i ended up using LS becausr fireball single target is awful, cant kill the councils. But i miss CL.
Ahh, I've been meaninig to try out fireball...is the single target really bad? Dang. I just got a pretty decent fractured winterglass to drop too 🤣 CL is super fun and cool though!
I run another sorcerer for that bluid. I have several mythic unique, so it s kinda easy. A lvl 64, I finish a ND lvl 98, very long to kill last boss but I did it. On my gear : andariel, tyrael, starlight ring, doombringer (yeah really !! :) and amu is selig and this one is very important for tankiness. At this point, I am lvl 70 and I must wait lvl 80 for axial pant to finish my gear. I think near lvl 90, doombringer will be replace with a staff.
If you equip different weapons (i.e. a 2-Hander versus 1H+OH), the proc damage on the helm actually changes! As in the numbers on the tooltip actually update!
Hey! That helmet is seriously build enabler. That life on hit solves all mana issues but I just can't get it to drop. Anyway how did you get that potion to barrier while damaged on axiom pants? I'm still new to D4. Thanks
I think that is an innate trait that exists on the pants (not part of the affixes on the bottom half). I could check again later in game though! As for Andariel's, yeah it certainly solves mana regen with Starlight Aspect, but if you don't have the helm, Recharging aspect plus tempering "lucky hit: chance to restore primary resource" on rings should help quite a bit as well. Trying to decide if I should keep my Andy’s and do the chain lightning build here or salvage it for my fourth spark and craft me a shako. Not sure what to do
@@lonmeasley752 Trying to get where I can farm t7/8 and kill tormented bosses consistently. The Andy’s CL looks amazing and the damage is honestly very decent across all modes. The LS build is just god mode honestly lol. I like being different at times and that’s what is attracting me to the CL build, I think I’m going to try it and save my other gear which is set up for LS, and if I don’t like it then make the switch and salvage Andy’s for a shako and go full LS.
@@lonmeasley752 The gear I have now is literally set up for LS with CS/CD/CDR tempers, and I have gear I’ve been working on that has vulnerable tempers, so worse case I’ll be going LS if I don’t like CL lol
Im using this without andys. You can stack a decent number of life on hit from gear until then and rarely run out of mana. A GA life on hit weapon, GA life on hit off hand is pretty good and no one wants them atm - someone just gave me one for free.

Hey no need to be angry at me. I don't have it either. But I decided not to go for massive life on hit. Dmg suffers tremendously if you craft on each gear. 20k life you simply need 500+ life per hit, so craft is just too small. As for helmet. 1 spark from mother I think? 1 from kill of end game boss 1 from Lilith and just need 1 more from any Uber unique salvaged. I only need someone to kill Lilith for me and I get one choice craft
@lonmeasley752 update: I switched to andarials with doombringer and survivability decreased but damage increased! A little bit of adjustments and im still able to clear t7 with ease.. haven't tried 8 yet.
I played Chain Lightning build originally in the season because it looked fun, but then lightning spear was like, nah im the goat. But before I swapped I ran andarials with it and it slapped hard, andy's with any decent lucky hit and fast attacks is uber.
For sure, Lightning Spear is just on its own (God) tier among all of the builds in the game right now. Let's see what the mid-season patch (if any) brings!

I added starlight a few days ago on ammy (I only have two non-uniques in the build) - yes, you can do resource aspects on ammy now. I dropped the lucky hit resource off weapon bc it was no longer necessary. I also dropped all the mana nodes off paragon bc again, no longer necessary. Still at 150 mana bc axial gives a big boost. BTW, I use Tal's, because it's perma 80%[x] damage with all 4 elements, which is easy to get (CL + fire enchant + andy poison + 1 cold hit from ice blades), and gives more [x] than shredding blades on an ammy. Once all 4 are up, any hit refreshes so it's perma-uptime. (Edit: looking at your gear, the other ring I'm using you don't have is Starless Skies. Not only is it 50%[x], but mine has +4 ranks of CL which is also a 25% dmg boost on the skill's listed dmg (I have 13 ranks total atm). Another thing is I don't generate vuln from ice blades, I get it purely from Static Surge and that seems to give 100% uptime on everything.

I have done the full screen thing before in another one of my videos but neglected it here, trying to get through it too quickly and maybe worrying that people would find it boring if the whole screen was filled up. This is amazing. My sorc is a mega tank now with unlimited mana. The only change is I equipped Soulbrand so the damage increase with Barriers is always active.
All these fck builds... everything needs Harlequin of Visage.. farmed a shit ton of tormented bosses but totaly nothing. it makes these builds shit without it sigh....
Tough luck! And it doesn't help that those aren't tradable either I suppose. But I would say my Chain Lightning + Lightning Spear (previous video) works decently well. It might be a little slower in Tier 7 but it's quite comfortable in Tier 6!

Love the lightning build but man... after this comment i did Duriel about 10 times without anything yet again. This game seems to hate me. Did atleast 40-50 Ubers.
You’re planner isn’t reflecting what you’re showing in the video for some reason. You’re running orange herald on boots but in planner you have fortune aspect on them with points for convulsions, and it looks like on your tree in the video you used points for convulsions but not on your planner so I’m confused on it
Ah! Im sorry! I've updated the planner to Orange Herald. As for Convulsion on boots, I think those would be enough points to not have to put extra points in it on the skill tree, so I've moved those points to teleport and maxing out Precision Magic and Align the Elements.

Doesn't make Andariel's NOT busted though! But yes, Lightning Spear is pretty much stronger than almost everything by a mile, maybe with the exception of Landslide druid, but haven't we seen enough videos on it already?

@lonmeasley752 you should test it out. I feel like there'd be multiple Poison and Burn explosions. Poison explosion from Andy, burn explosions from Firebolt enchantment, and another Poison explosion from from the DoT after Andy. I don't have the helmet yet but I've been drooling over this idea since I got the ring. Also. Since there's another 2 or 3 possible instances of damage being applied, it might feed further into Andy procs.
Put star light on ammy, I run both tal rasha and starless. I only run 3 legendary pieces on my build. I run, andarials/tyraels/fist of fate/doom bringer/tal rasha and starless. Boots have orange herald aspect Off hand storm swell Amulet starlight Works great no mana issues and have 10-12 chains constantly

Agreed, i have 12 characters.. and found 3 mythics passed 2 days lol ... from 5 seasons

Glad to hear this! I suppose with Spear you really have to hit a certain breakpoint with your gear to really be able to spam Spears with no cooldown!

If you want the absolute strongest build, which is Lightning Spear, then I think Shako pairs better for the CDR

u can do t8 with both shako and andariels, although using andariels for attack speed and life on hit, so for sorc atm andariels ftw

Yes you can. But don't forget every hit to love is big damage boost lost from gear
P.S the more life you have , the more life on hit you need. At 15k life only helmet can make a difference

You should be getting it, it could be because the "vulnerable" from combat text (in your gameplay settings) was turned off!

Haven't actually tested yet, but I'd imagine it'd be pretty hard, especially the Council members. Tier 8 isn't very efficient anwyay though!

Is the CL damage from the unique (like LS aspect) or CL itself?
It's mainly from Andariel's and the Axial Conduit pants, but Chain lightning's damage itself isn't that bad either!

You can swap starless sky ring for tal rasha if u need to, but you need the starlight aspect on one of ur rings or the build isnt working.
