With a gravity grip and the stability shaft that putter is a marriage made in heaven!!! I've had 2 putter fittings in the past 2 years (one with Evnroll) and I have subsequently bought 4 putters (with a 5th on the way) and sold 2 of them (with a 3rd on the market). However, through playing on the course with these and with my 40 year-old Ping Anser, I've come to the conclusion that I am visually happiest with a blade putter and that what is most important to me is having an alignment aid (white line) on the upper leading edge of the blade! I think putter fittings are important for you to understand your stroke and your tendencies.... Yet I still feel putting is a question of feel, and only by trial and error will you learn what you best handle on the greens. Hey, you've just married a brunette with a great waist line after having played with a brunette with a great waist line for soooo long....Didn't see you going for the blond (ER5) or the redhead (ER10)...😉😊
Thanks so much for your videos that encourage us to attempt to play our best. I am 75 year old male and have enjoyed and learned from many of your videos.
Thank you for the honest review. I drove down to Carlsbad and got fitted for an ER2 today. I have been using the same putter for 25 years. I couldnt be happier with the choice.
I use a second hand Scotty Cameron Studio Select Fastback No 1.5 with a 3.0 Super Stroke putter grip. I turned the flat part of the putter grip opposite (away) from the face of the putter. When I put my right hand on the putter grip my putter is aligned exactly how I want it. I could line up my putt blind with the way the grip is on my putter. Love it.
I had a Rife Two Bar mallet for many years and when he came out with the EVNROLL putters I had to try one. Bought an ER3 at the PGA Superstore in Orlando. Made everything I looked at early on but still missed the balance of a mallet. When they came out with the ER 7 Center shaft I ordered one right away and have been gaming it for a few years now. Put a Gravity grip on it over the winter and love it. Hopefully cataract surgery will help my lousy green reading so I can get back to being a really good putter again!!
Hey Matt, I met you and your very skilled daughter at Atlanta Nat’l a couple weeks ago. I’ve been playing Evnroll putters for 4 years now, first the ER7 , now the murdered out ER5 Hatchback with gravity grip. I love them, very consistent on off center hits. Good video, hope the Evnroll stays in the bag for you. I’m surprised they don’t have more traction with tour pros.
One reason is endorsements cost us. Try to get a discount on a Scotty. The Evenroll I bought today was on sale for $299 from over $400 list. Whatever a Scotty is priced at is the selling price. No knock on Scotty’s. I have one I really like. So, Evenroll basically doesn’t advertise or pay pros to play and endorse. A good thing.
The putter! An instrument that is as important to scoring well as anything in your bag. Spend the time making sure that your love will forever endure with your putter, or just give up the game. Thanks Matt!
Nice something new... 2 putter fittings in 3 years over £600 spent. , changed up recently went back to my ping my day that I used 20+ years ago and I have never felt so comfortable and holed so many putts as I have since I changed. Probably just a reminder of when I was much younger and had less fear lol. Whatever works I suppose, great vid as always.
PSA-Evnroll is the bomb! Just finished my fitting at their HQ and was glad I went! Alan is great and takes his time with you and getting you setup with the correct putter. Highly recommend if you have the chance to get fitted while you’re in Carlsbad do it!
That would be nice but that's a long trip from where I live! I haven't been there since back in the early '90s and the late '90s when I got fitted for my Callaways at their headquarters!
Thanks for not making a long winded putter fitting video. Seen a few and they are a punish to watch. Good luck with the Evnroll… I have the ER10. Best putter I have owned.
I have been a fan of the Guerin Rifes philosophy on the face in relation to roll since the original Two Bar. I rolled a Rife Mr. Beasley for about 10 years until the ER2 hit my bag and that has been in ever since. The ER2 face is one of the softest sounding/ feeling without going to an insert. Give it a few sessions and a few rounds you won’t regret kicking the Camry!
MrShortGame, I myself have just finished a Putter Talent Search! Tried every brands offerings, took 3-4weeks of almost everyday, visiting the PGA Store to get through all the Putters! I myself got it down to 3 Putters, The Evinroll with Gravity Grip same as yours, the New Scotty Cameron X 11, the semi old Ping Heppler Tomcat 14... Ended up choosing the Heppler Tomcat 14. I literally made more Putts, longer putts, over and over! I did notice it's better on longer putts on slow to medium speed greens and less so on short putts on fast & super fast greens. May be the weight. Heavier Face Balanced Mallet Putters MAY.... BE.... Better for Longer Putts on Slower Greens and the Lighter Blade Style Putters MAY... BE... Better for short putts with lots of break on super fast greens! This is my thoughts & observations! Anybody here think there's any truth to my perceived observations? Feels that way too me!
Nice putter and detailed testing. Your putting is generally really good from all the vids I seen you play. Be interesting to hear your views about the new putter in a months time. Take care Matt👍
I got the Evnroll ER2 in silver with the black and silver Gravity Grip and absolutely love the putter. Last two rounds for me were 29 putts each, and my lowest score this Saturday in the men's club tournament of 75 won first place! So much better than my TaylorMade Spider and my Odyssey Double-Wide.
ER 2.2 with Gravity grip also, best putter ever. The tech on the face is not bs . I can't do black putter coz I have a hard time lining up the face to target
Recently switched from a Scotty Phantom mallet to an Evnroll Zero (the weird looking one) and have never rolled putts so well in my life, its almost impossible not to come through square with all the outside weights. I also took a putting lesson which helped massively as well.
Matt, I played my 9 hole course this week and shot a 33, 2 under par. The thing is I had 9 one putt greens! Who has ever done that before. Not me. Did it with my old 2 ball Odyssey that I went back to this year.
Purchased my all-black ER5B last summer, my only issue is the all-black without an indicator on top that is painted a different color (i.e. white / red), in various light conditions it confuses my address and sometimes the strike. Like it's not square at the address or thought I hit the ball sooner than expected, I hope you have better success. I still like the putter but want to add a painted two dots on top.
hello my friend, I wonder if you could have an video section with Putting psychology on the green. I usually can be on green with -1, and two pars or 1 par in. However with -2 on (because of birdie chance) I tend to be nervous and every time it becomes 3 pars in! worse than average!
Been waiting for this video! I have been playing an EvnRoll ER5 for the last few months and I've never holed so many long putts in my life. Great video Matt!
Matt the EvnRoll putter is beautiful. I new Guerin Rife when he had a shop in Winter Park Fl. He so far ahead of other putter inverters and a wealth of knowledge on putting. Enjoyed.
I'm curious how many models you tried. Did you try one of the more radical designs like the ER-Z, or did you pretty much stick with the blade styles? Would love another video that detailed the fitting process a bit more and what you learned.
Just wen through the same process and ordered a Cleveland Frontline Elevado to replace my current MLA mallet which has the same gravity grip. Like the size and looks of the gravity grip but my accuracy was better before I installed it.
It’s a great putter for sure. I’ve had my 1.2 for 2 seasons and it’s staying in the bag! I do need to regrip it. What do you think of the gravity grip?
I played golf for a week in Myrtle Beach and hated my putter (Ping) all week. Bought an EvnRoll the day we flew out and havent looked back since. Easily the best putter out there.
Questions for follow up 1. Did all the testing get in your head and hurt your performance or all the testing cause you to focus and perform better regardless of putter? 2. How does the even roll differ from your scotty? Or is this all marketing hype of a fitting?. Personally a color change is a change enough. I use a black ping tyne sigma 2 blue dot short and am married for life. Love the black love the putter. Your even roll looks pretty dang nice! (Also after seeing the scotty cameron putting aid price ill support the even roll choice as well!)
What made you decide on Evnroll specifically? I got fitted there as well and loved it! Got bored and bought a LAB and honestly baffled why everyone does not play with a torque free putter. Would love a review on any of the torque free putters out there thanks for the video!
ER 1.2 Blade Putter. I love this putter more than every other club in my back. Switched to it after a long long marriage to my 30 years old ping anser.
Had to laugh at your opening statement! I've bought and sold and given away almost 100 putters in my life. At 60 I finally figured out what you've said and I stuck with one putter and I'm selling the rest. Love the new wand!
Great looking putter Matt. You will be back using your Scotty Cameron very soon. Why? Because a putter fitting removes the most important factor of putting. . . . FEEL. Enjoyed watching the fitting process though.
Wow, what day did you go to evnroll? I literally just got fitted into the exact same putter (ER1.2) yesterday. Mine is silver head though. Great putter for sure!!
I love the Evnroll putters. I've held off buying one until I can decide on three things: 1) Do I want the Er1.2? 2) Do I want the Er2.2? and 3) When will I be able to afford one? 😎⛳ BTW, do you know anyone that wants to sell a used Scotty Newport 2? 😉.
Hey man, which feels better and more premium? The Evnroll or the Scotty Cameron? To be honest I don't really care about performance per se, I just like playing with golf clubs that make me feel good haha, and I'm privileged to say that I don't mind paying premium price. I've only been playing for 8 months but consistently and avidly. I only play golf to spend time with my grandpa and my cousins so I don't pressure myself to religiously lower my scores, I just vibe at the gold course haha. Which of these putters would you prefer in terms of premium quality? Thanks!
Only issue is on course you can start to go back to some bad tendencies you might have had with the other putter. Need to practice to work those out of the system before really knowing if this is the one.
If I may ask, how much was the fitting? I agree it is probably the least area of fitting in golf. I have done my driver, irons, wedges, but never a putter and I am a good putter. May need to look into it. Thanks and may you hit noting but fairways and greens, PLUS, make more putts!!!!
Per the website it's $150 and usually last 1-1.5 hours. As long as they have the parts in stock they will also build your putter for you before you go. Seems like a pretty fair price to me!

I’ll take a redhead ER10 please. 😁
Love my Evnroll ER2B - had it for 2-3 years. By far the most consistent rolling putter I've ever had. Great on the off-center hits. Phenomenal feel.
Thanks so much for your videos that encourage us to attempt to play our best. I am 75 year old male and have enjoyed and learned from many of your videos.

Had to watch. Yesterday, I was "Quintec" fit. Unexpectedly, I am now an Evnroll 5 putter owner 😊
Nice something new... 2 putter fittings in 3 years over £600 spent. , changed up recently went back to my ping my day that I used 20+ years ago and I have never felt so comfortable and holed so many putts as I have since I changed. I almost bought an Evnroll last week (mallet style) and was super impressed with the feel. Want a proper fitting now
i use a mallet by evnroll... soft feel... rolls the ball great... i had to do away with the gravity grip.... but other than that the putter is great!!
Thanks for not making a long winded putter fitting video. Seen a few and they are a punish to watch. Good luck with the Evnroll… I have the ER10. Best putter I have owned.
I play the ER2. I have had it for about 4 years now and absolutely love it. Just don’t like fat grips so put on a slim grip.
I have been a fan of the Guerin Rifes philosophy on the face in relation to roll since the original Two Bar. Same boat with you coming from SC Newport 2, went with the ER2v with long slant neck and Gravity grip.. night and day!
MrShortGame,
I myself have just finished a Putter Talent Search! Tried every brands offerings, took 3-4weeks of almost everyday, visiting the PGA Store to get through all the Putters!
I myself got it down to 3 Putters,
The Evinroll with Gravity Grip same as yours, the New Scotty Cameron X 11, the semi old Ping Heppler Tomcat 14...

I like the extra confidence a fit putter gives you on the green. It’s nice to know the tool your using is correct for your swing type. Looks great!!
I have only played with one putter (30 years), Achusnet 35B mallet 1.
Nice putter and detailed testing. Your putting is generally really good from all the vids I seen you play. Be interesting to hear your views about the new putter in a months time. Take care Matt👍
Whichever putter one chooses, you have to be comfortable with it's feel. The rest is confidence and your ability to accurately read greens.
I just bought the ER7v because once I picked it up and stood over a ball it felt part of my hands and arms. Can not wait to play it!
I have one, freaking love it. The way the ball comes off the face clearly stood out when I got a fitting
ER 2.2 with Gravity grip also, best putter ever. The tech on the face is not bs . I can't do black putter coz I have a hard time lining up the face to target

It would really be nice to know where you could get fitted for a putter! Especially the Evnroll

Hurray and so happy you made it out of Centurion alive!!! 😀
Been waiting for this video! I have been playing an EvnRoll ER5 for the last few months and I've never holed so many long putts in my life. Great video Matt!
I play the ER5 as well and man the feel is incredible off the center of the putter
Retired my Scottie for Evnroll !!! I got fitted there last year by Allan !! It was an awesome experience! I highly recommend !!
ER5 mallet. Great putter.
Love my Evnroll ER10. Got fitted in Carlsbad and it was a great experience. Did not like the Gravity grip though.
Where can you go get fitted and straightened up like that around Birmingham, Alabama?
Matt the EvnRoll putter is beautiful. I new Guerin Rife when he had a shop in Winter Park Fl.
He so far ahead of other putter inverters and a wealth of knowledge on putting. Enjoyed.
The black looks great 👍🏽
I'm curious how many models you tried. Did you try one of the more radical designs like the ER-Z, or did you pretty much stick with the blade styles? Would love another video that detailed the fitting process a bit more and what you learned.
This is the next golf youtube channel to hit a miljon subscribers. Great content.
It's a great looking club, nice choice! Enjoy your new "life long commitment" :-)
So you're cheating on your SC with the slick new EV but I didn't see as many putts dropping as usual - so I'm predicting THIS IS A FLING
😂😂😂
I played golf for a week in Myrtle Beach and hated my putter (Ping) all week. Bought an EvnRoll the day we flew out and havent looked back since. Easily the best putter out there.

I have used the same putter for almost 20 years the odyssey 2 ball blade because practice always beats buying a new putter.
I like, looking forward to trying one.👍great video !
love it! thanks for the review, i'm contemplating making the switch to EVNroll!
What made you decide on Evnroll specifically? I got fitted there as well and loved it!
Got bored and bought a LAB and honestly baffled why everyone does not play with a torque free putter. Would love a review on any of the torque free putters out there thanks for the video!
Just personal preference wether it be a mallet of blade the alignment mark mist be on the top for me.
I do like an all black putter. Sweet!
ER 1.2 Blade Putter. I love this putter more than every other club in my back. Switched to it after a long long marriage to my 30 years old ping anser.
Love my Evnroll, especially with the black color and the gravity grip is awesome.
Love the black!!
I like the putter, looks like my Bettinardi Studio Stock 18, prefer the silver though.
Love my ER2. Great feel of the face and just buttery feel
what hitting mat do you use in your studio?
Had to laugh at your opening statement! I've bought and sold and given away almost 100 putters in my life. At 60 I finally figured out what you've said and I stuck with one putter and I'm selling the rest. Love the new wand!
I thought I saw I new putter you were using recently
I play an er5 and love it! Right now have the tourtac grip but want to try out the gravity grip
Evnroll ER8v is what I play. Such an accurate putter!!
Great looking putter Matt. You will be back using your Scotty Cameron very soon. Why? Because a putter fitting removes the most important factor of putting. . . . FEEL. Enjoyed watching the fitting process though.
What's the deal with the numbering system! With yours being 1.2 or the RN2 or RN1
Wow, what day did you go to evnroll? I literally just got fitted into the exact same putter (ER1.2) yesterday. Mine is silver head though. Great putter for sure!!
I love the black. Looks great!
Very true Mr.Seal, great video and excellent putting :)
Evnroll ER2 has been in my bag for the past 2 years, not sure that I will ever change from it.
Great video! Love to see this. Started gaming an ER2 about 3 years ago and have not looked back!
I love the gravity grip. I had one on my Cobra Agera for quite a while.
So did you put it in the bag?
I’ve been playing the ER2 for a couple of years now - hands down the best putter I’ve ever had

Which of these putters would you prefer in terms of premium quality? Thanks!
I got fitted last year for one , brillant , not cheap but worth it!!!
So what about the la golf shaft In your new putter?
Every time I hear the name of the putter I hear even flow by Pearl Jam . 😂
Only issue is on course you can start to go back to some bad tendencies you might have had with the other putter. Need to practice to work those out of the system before really knowing if this is the one.
Looks brilliant. How much was it? Expensive no doubt
Putter is sharp. Have always heard good things about Evnroll. Great content.
Hey Matt, with now the Good Good in the bag...did you sell this putter?
If it works for you, awesome! Haven’t seen a putter yet that can compete with LAB technology.
I see a number of guys i know using the L.A.B. Mezz1 putter. May try it.
If I may ask, how much was the fitting? I agree it is probably the least area of fitting in golf. I have done my driver, irons, wedges, but never a putter and I am a good putter. May need to look into it. Thanks and may you hit noting but fairways and greens, PLUS, make more putts!!!!

Great video. Putter looks awesome.
Weird question lol... But I love your hats, what is the the base hat you use?? Love the channel thanks!
Fling for sure - he will be back to the Scotty in no time.
did you try the Evnroll Zero and if so what did you think of it.
Looks awesome love it
I would like the same shape, same weight, length, etc as my Tank 7, but with the Evnroll face technology.
Matt should I swap my phantom 5.5 for a Evnroll EV2? Looking for more blade like and heavier putter. Just don’t want to regret leaving scotty
Beautiful reminds me of my Newport
There is a groove worn out in the mat?
Looks nice
Love the videos you are one of the best golf RUclipsr
I wish I had evenroll money. I am making due with a $20 Wilson blade for now, I like it
Eventoll is a fantastic putter
You will be back with the Scotty
Your putter looks very nice!!!
I had the same putter for 20 years…and then I got a younger, way more sexy, taller one!…love my new girl…I mean putter!
I play the ER2B and it’s awesome
