- This is the late show and from Clint Weyrauch the Program Director at KTIM who did the actual recording and broadcast of the show.This is from the original PRE-FM Reel To Reel Tapes.Clint recorded this show on a small 12 channel mixer direct to a Revox 2-Track Reel To Reel tape recorder.
There are a couple bootlegs of this show uploaded on youtube and they are TERRIBLE,songs are not in the correct order,lots of hiss and interference due to severe weather that night and the radio signal was bad,one bootlegger said he used 3 different sources to compile the shows,but he rearranged the song order and cut off the beginnning of some of the songs and it still sounded terrible . I got this from Clint Weyrauch the Program Director at KTIM who did the actual recording and broadcast.This is from his original MASTER PRE-FM Reel to Reel Tapes so there's no interference and NO FM compression and the songs are complete and in the correct order,just as the show was broadcast.This is the highest quality you can get.

Have had this one on cassette since late 1970s. Great show, "Wild Children" my fave from this set. "Rod's crying like a baby thinking about the time, James Dean took that fatal ride...in LA, in LA, in LA."
I love these older Van sets. Just so dang nostalgic I guess. Used to have the early and late Troubadour sets. Always burning copies for friends and newbies.
This is absolutely brilliant. What a performance..... peerless.
Listen to the Lion live. First heard it on Too Late to Stop Now release and have been hooked on live Van ever since.

@@SouthernFriendlyMemories Did not know that Doug was on this one!! There's a very interesting interview of him on youtube talking about Van during the early 70s- how one time he wanted to play 'stairway to heaven'. Never happened but would've for sure been interesting to hear Van's take on it

This seems to be some form of The Caledonian soul band but it might not be the great 😂David Shaw on drums ( Van seem to introduce another name for the drummer ? Hard to understand. I think it’s the great Caledonian Soul band which is my fav band Van used. They have such a sense of Groove and tight ,

Nice...KTIM was My high school radio station's sponsor. KPVH in Pinole I still have a few KTIM marked records they gave us...including a copy of Magical Mystery Tour. I forgot that they also did live broadcasts...thanks for this one.
