I used less water though so it made its own stock basically -- I got AAA beef roast and cut it into steaks and the meat just fell apart in the bowl and nice and pink in the center. it was REALLY good but I needed way more carrots, potatoes etc lol. The potatoes were also so good, just touch it and it burst open and nice and fluffy inside and soaks up all the broth. I've been wanting to make it again for a while

Almost all those stores he shops at in Kensington Market are now gone. All gentrified away and replaced with bakeries where it costs $15 for a loaf of bread.
Soups like that are super easy to make just as dave mentioned. You can use any ingredients you want. I tend to add chopped up celery to it and will cut up my veggies into smaller chunks and use less water compared to Dave’s style. You can’t get any healthier than this though. Very natural and pure. Unless you go with chicken, which will be even healthier. Some people will add extra beef or chicken broth by that defeats the purpose of the natural taste. If you add even less water or no water but very little water and more oil with Asian Annise 5-Star spice, then you got a more tasty stew that you can serve over pasta or rice. Omg, it’ll be fucking bomb!!!!!!!!

I made this with a clubhouse beef stew packet instead of salt and pepper, and celery instead of carrots (I don't like cooked carrots :| ) and it was delicious! threw it in the slow cooker for 8 hours and it was awesome
Dave's stew sucks. Use the fat from the beef to make a roux with the flour, simple thickener. Dave makes beef soup, two hours on the stovetop? Not nearly enough time. If you make the roux, you have a thicker broth, and the liquid content is much less, gets drunk by the roux. At this point, you'd add more seasoning and finishing garnish herbs, let a bay leaf or two in there, some crushed rosemary. Let simmer on low for another hour. Let everyone settle at the base of your groin.
