konstantin, thank you. i was about to blow a gasket reading and listening to reviews. you've provided all the info i need without a word. we need more people like you. brian i agree the polytune is the steadiest. maybe the handiest [i use one]. but my ear is a pain in the ass. 441 is too far north of A for me. The Korg Sledgehammer is still providing information even when konstantin is micro adjusting the peg. we're never perfectly in tune, only close. The SledgeHammer reflects that. I'm buying one and returning the Poly.
Put the poly tune in Strob mode, press lower side button a couple times for extremely accurate tuning +-0.02C but a tiny bit slower but much more accurate. Plus with poly tune, strum al strings shows you all strings tuning sharp, flat in tune at the same time.
Korg Sledgehammer Pro is the overall winner here. Great piece of equipment! Very accurate. The strobe mode let's you even more to tune it with the greatest accurassay possible.
Not really. Polytune has a delay which really sucks. It gives an illusion, because it's steady and because it keeps showing the information for a while even if you mute the string therefore it seems like it has the best sensor, but it's not true. If you want accuracy, buy korg. If you want ease of use and don't care much, but polytune. Both are fair choices, but different.
they all look big and bogus . For an practically unseen one look for the D'Addario sound hole mini . It fits on the edge and inside the sound hole and turns on and off very easily . I love mine. i put it in my uke . The only thing you have to watch out for is if the bracing of your guitar is close to the sound hole it might stop it from attaching perfectly .
Except for the Sledgehammer Pro, the readouts are all too small to see quickly in a performance setting. (Lights flashing on stage). Unfortunately the muted color tones on the Sledgehammer Pro don’t leap out at you, so again your left with dead-staring at a very small field. I suspect the Korg people wanted to emulate the experience of the Peterson IStroboClip HD which I think is far superior to anything here.

Exactly. Also, korg reacts to pitch change in real time while polytume has a delay which I hate, personally.
Did you buy sledgehammer? How was the experience?
lol. There goes the Polytune being the only one to shut itself off when you're still obviously in the middle of tuning, as usual.

I came in here looking for the Polytune, but now I do like the Korg SH (sledgehammer) :D
So which is the best tuner for something like a Jackson DK2 dinky electric guitar?
Great video, very helpful. thanks a lot :)
TC PolyTune
Polytune clip is the steadiest and most accurate. The others are fairly good, but tend to jump around a lot.
that boss as all boss tuners is horrible. even the best boss tuners only come within 1 cent + or -.
The Polytune turned itself off whilst in use - how can that be called "Steady".And the dipslay just breaks at 6:19 wtf!

Polytune.

Nick Urech not putting anything into the sound hole of my acoustic guitars, could damage them and will very certainly affect the sound.

TC Polytune clip
some poor quality tuning pegs there. some quality pegs like 18 to 1 turn ratio would make it more stable tuning.
BS
Its not accurate
Snark wins.
