Thanks for posting another great video! Loved seeing behind the scenes at Popsugar!! I'm currently on levothyroxine, I was wondering what symptoms led to you start taking testosterone? I don't know if I should be taking that too...??
Thanks for your posts on hypothyroidism. I have a friend who struggles with this condition. She is taking natural thyroid medication also. What I appreciate most from these posts of your life with hypothyroidism is that I have gained a deeper understanding and thereby giving me more sympathy for her daily struggles as she shares with me. I now have a more compassion for her daily battle. Keep the posts coming. And again, thanks!
*hey girl, I love this video because I struggle with thyroid problems too and they run in my family. It's also really hard because your thyroid controls EVERYTHING. I realize what personally has really helped me was getting plenty of sleep/rest, and being happy and not stressed. OF COURSE, that can be really hard but I think those factors really do make a huge difference, and of course plenty of healthy fat and veggies* :) please continue doing these videos, I love how helpful they are. It's nice to know I'm not alone and they way you talk about your different medications is so helpful!
2:30 I so get this! It is impossible for anyone to understand unless they've experienced it! I had a friend with adrenal fatigue (had never heard of it), I remember asking if she felt and slept better after working out, cuz I did... she said no, it made it much worse. I remember being so confused. Then I got adrenal fatigue and boy did I get it. I felt like I had the flu 24/7. After trying so many things for months, so much money seeing naturopaths and doctors... I kept praying about it/begging for help. Then I kept meeting all these women friends feeling so much better eating raw. So I did that for 9 months and healed myself. That was 8 years ago. In retrospect, I think I'd been malnourished even though I tried to eat well. Juice feasts helped so much. Hang in there! Keep trying new things. You will feel better! xoxoxo
I literally just got diagnosed with hypothyroidism this week (which is actually how I found your channel and am now catching up on your videos) and its beens really nice to see a positive and healthy and fit role model! Its definitely nice to finally have some answers to what has been going on with me, and to finally confirm that this wasn't all in my head, but it is also overwhelming to think of now learning to deal with it all. The energy has been really hard lately as I just started taking medication for the first time two days ago, so its really nice to not be alone and know that it will get better ! Thanks :)
Thank you for being such an open book! I wasn't diagnosed with hypo until I was 22 and the thing that led me into the doctor & labs was that I was falling asleep at the wheel. It has been a serious struggle, especially with weight gain/loss. I own all of the guides that you have made, I am watching the hypo playlist & praying I see results and can take as much of my health back as possible. Thanks for being you, Katie! ♡♡♡
Yes please more hypo videos!! Especially grocery hauls, and what you eat in a day. I like how you share what vitamins and medications you’re taking, but I find it really helpful knowing what you do to help your hypo in your daily diet as well! You seem so knowledgeable and helpful so I find your tips the best! Thanks for sharing!!
I have hypothyroidism too, I have always felt that I was lazy for always feeling so tired. You make me feel a little less crazy that there is someone else who gets the struggle. Thank you for your updates and reminding me I'm not alone!
I was on BC for 6-7 years and had the same thought of not wanting a family now, but worrying about what it would do to my future of having kids. My body did freak out for a couple of months my periods were out of whack & they are back to being horrible 😭 but your body does normal out and not only is it a better feeling that you’re not changing your natural hormones, but it’s also so nice to have one less medication to take and remember! ❤️ 💗
Thanks for sharing Katie. I have hypothyroidism too. I get the fatigue. Sometimes it’s so hard when you sleep 9 hours and then wake up tired. Keep the vlogs coming.
I actually just got off of my birth control about a month ago and got my hypo blood work done yesterday! Haha I got off the birth control because it was making me feel bad (anxiety, hormonal, foggy in my brain) all kinds of stuff. After about a week of getting off of it I felt so much more like my normal self. I loved my birth control for a while, I just think I was on it way too long. Now I am still on levothoroxin for my thyroid but my levels have actual gotten better since I stopped my birth control. So I say do it, give your body some time to adjust and see how you feel. I personally feel so much better. I am very happy with my decision. Love you, keep us updated! Love the vlogs! ❤
Yessssss!! Omg I have hashimotos and hypothyroidism and it's a constant struggle. I've been working with my doctor's and working out and living a healthy lifestyle for a year now and it honestly sucks not having people that understand what I go through. I have no support group for this and it sucks because yeah people listen but do they really and can they relate? I rather not bore or nag so I don't really talk about it.
I have been dieting and exercising for the past 6 years at it’s been so discouraging not being able to lose those last few pounds or get to that next level. I was diagnosed with hypothyroid this week and found your channel so I hope that might be the reason it’s been such a struggle! I’m nervous to start medication but seeing how it has helped so many makes me feel better. Definitely going to browse through your meal plans and see if I need to tweak my diet even more. Again, thank you for sharing !
Hi Val! I totally understand how discouraging it can be to navigate hypothyroidism. I think my Hypo 101 Meal Plan will be amazing for you! :) my.lovesweatfitness.com/collections/nutrition-plans/products/hypo-101-4-week-meal-plan
i absolutely love these videos!!!! i recently found out i suffer from hypothyroidism and feel so lost and unsure what to do! i have so many symptoms, weight gain, fatigue, hair loss, moody, the list goes on! i've seen so many dr's and have been on several pills to try and fix things. so its so nice to be able to hear your journey and relate to you in that way!! i was on birth control since about 18 and went off of it when i was about 25, so ive been off it for about 4 years now. it still hard and my body is still adjusting. when i first went off my period cycle was longer than 28-30 days, i would get a yeast infection the week before my period for months, i would get really bad cramping and bleeding. i wanted to go back on it so bad but i stuck it out because i knew it was best for my body. now my periods are about 28-30 day cylces, i dont get yeast infections anymore, only bad cramps the first day but a head pad fixes that. it was totally worth it! i have also been doing research on the side-effects of the pill and hypothyroidism, i dont want to scare you but i did read that women who were on the pill have a trace of copper in their body, not sure if that is accurate but just wanted to share with you. ohhh and one thing i found super helpful with my acne and fatigue was celery juice!!! juice 8-16oz in the am then wait about 30-60 min before eating or drinking anything else. i barely have breakouts, i stopped drinking coffee because i feel like i dont need it anymore, it just makes me feel awake and refreshed! hope this helps! thanks for sharing your journey!!!
Thanks for the update and info! I have Hashimoto’s hypothyroidism and just moved to another state, which means a new doc. The stress of the move (we have 2 kids) I think has really knocked me for a loop and my tsh is now high again, but still “in range” according to the doc...my previous doc always wanted it around 2, but now it’s at 4 and I’m bloated, fatigued, and just blah. And gaining weight! The struggle is REAL! I hope you feel better soon. Oh, and I use the Mirena iud because my periods were crazy horrendous at it doesn’t work for everyone, but it’s really helped me, hormone-wise. Good luck!
I just went off the pill for the summer and felt a million times better. My skin cleared up and my mood improved and I felt like I had more energy. I switched a no estrogen one when I went back on in September and although it’s wayyy better I still think about going off again all the time
Love your blogs, keep them coming. I feel you with the fatigue. With endometriosis, fatigue goes right along with it. But working out everyday sure does help with energy.
Hey Katie! Thanks for being so open and honest about your thyroid issues! I have commented before that I have had the same issues, but I never was on the pill. After being on synthroid for 35 yrs and then added cytomel for 4 yrs I decided to try to take a break from it. My holistic MD helped me get off of these 2 synthetic drugs and to take natural supplements, modify my diet, etc- the entire”right” way! I was so hopeful and feeling I was being kind to my body. It was an adjustment , as you are experiencing . I never felt awesome, but continued for a year. Not trying to scare you , as this is my story. My bloodwork was just ok after 6 months. Then I plummeted ! My yearly bloodwork showed that my kidneys and pancreas functions weren’t normal ! I was almost pre-diabetic, which I had never fit the profile for. I had to see a kidney specialist and nutritionist and be on a very strict diet and was so weak- I lost 7 lbs, which I didn’t have to loose. After going back on the meds I felt great! For me, I will never experiment with this again. All labs have been normal for 3 yrs now and I feel great ! I hope your story is one of complete success ❤️
I have hashimotos hypothyroidism and I totally get it! 12 years ago I was diagnosed and it’s been quite a journey. The fatigue is REAL. Food for thought... have your adrenals checked. You may want to slap me right now, but sloooowwwwn girl. When you described what you’re up to in one day I had to go take a nap. And yes, bc pills are not in the least bit good. You are on the right track! I went on naturethoid and left it within a year. Back to synthroid. Also check out the Autoimmune protocol (AIP diet) avoiding nightshades, dairy, nuts legumes, seeds, seed based spices, all grains and of course processed foods.
We are on this journey together girl!!!!! No joke just went to my Doc to try n get off my birth control... I want to try n be more natural and keep my body clean and focus on my hypothyroid ... I'm so sick of being tired !!!! Thank you for your amazing videos ... it's nice having someone who can relate!!!!!😘💗 your amazing !!!!!💪💓
I got off birth control for the same reason. I was reading a lot of different studies showing how the hormones in birth control affect the thyroid hormones. After 4 years of being on birth control I stopped. My period is heavier and I get more cramps but I am happy to be birth control free. Thank you for posting videos on hypothyroidism, it has been a long journey for me as well that I am constantly trying to improve. You are so inspiring! Thank you for sharing your story.
I have been on mine for 13 years and just went off for three months. Felt great but I started breaking out worse and my periods got terrible again so I got back on it not knowing what else to do. I wasn’t as tired which was amazing but the cramping and breakouts wasn’t worth it. Keep us updated!!!
So thankful I found your videos..I struggle with hashimotos and have those same frustrating struggles with energy and especially my workouts at the gym. It’s so frustrating and took me forever to get on the right dose of medication. Finally at 150mg of unithroid I found my happy medium.. for now. Your videos are so encouraging when you feel everyone around doesn’t understand the ups and downs! ❤️
Hi Katie, love your vlogs! Very informative regarding your hypothyroidism and am learning so much. You mentioned you were thinking of going off the pill after being on it for a long time. I was on the pill for at least 10 years and went off in Jan and was pregnant by August but wanted to be. So don’t be concerned about any issues. Keep the info coming! Thank you 🙏❤️
Any advice from anyone that doesn’t have a thyroid and has all kinds of symptoms? My levels have been in the normal range since I had my thyroid out. There’s so much out there about hypo when you still have your thyroid but not a lot on having no thyroid. I had mine taken out 1 year ago. I’m 45, have absolutely no energy, major brain fog and hypoglocemic, depression, insanely dry skin and thin hair! I’m also depressed and I’ve gained so much weight. Katie I do enjoy your videos!! I so love everything about you! You’re a blessing to me and help me not to be as depressed as I have been!!
😭 I'm so happy to find you in youtube. Can relate to everything your saying. Its been a real struggle since covid started. But hearing your story give me hope to be my inner beautiful self.
I totally understand you! I have hyperthyroidism and have been on medication since 2015. My body goes through these ups and downs moments and it is frustrating.
I was on BC for years and years and didn’t think at the time that I had any bad side effects from it.... but the longer I was off it the more I realized how much it affected my body. Recently started birth control again for a few months and decided again to go off of it because it’s just not worth it if it’s avoidable I’ve found. I would say it won’t hurt to go off (just be careful!) and you can always go back on if you need.
I’m going through the exact same thing with my hypothyroidism. I’m always tired and I’m breaking out like crazy. I’m on synthroid 80mcg and I’m absolutely fed up. I’m going to try and give Nature Thyroid a try. I understand the fatigue so incredibly much... nobody understands and it’s really hard. Hang in there girl!
I’ve been watching your videos for a while, mostly because I love the tips you offer. I did pay attention when you would mention hypothyroidism but just because I’m interested in medical issues. I recently got blood tests, my TSH was high and they put me on levothyroxine. I’m not diagnosed with hypothyroidism but I’m glad at least I have your channel to refer to if I need any advice!
I have the same issues. Unless u have actually experienced it u can never understand! ⭐️ for all the people who love those with Hypo you are the real MVPs!
+Love Sweat Fitness Ever since I got diagnosed with hypothyroidism I struggle with fatigue, my weight, I am close to 200 lbs.😢 and no interest in intimacy. My poor husband suffers. He does not understand my fatigue. I want to start excercising but I have no energy. Am I just supposed to force myself even if I don't feel like doing excercise?
Judith Gaeta girl I feel the exact same way. Like I’ll even plan working out and I just CANT DO IT. I don’t even get it. I’m so winded all the time! :/
I got hypothyroidism during my pregnancy. I just force myself to workout. It sucks, but I have a time every day and I HAVE to do it. And it’s working. I’m losing very slowly (about half a pound to a pound a week), but it’s working. I have to be very strict with my diet, but it is possible.
@@Samsartescape Hey girl!! If you can't workout then make sure that you DONT push your body because it increases your cortisol levels which make your thyroid levels go EVEN HIGHER!! So eat clean, but instead of doing that HITT workout, try going for a 30 minute walk or a light jog!! and girls i promise it gets better!! Try LOTS OF NATURAL HERBS (SELENIUM AND OMEGA 3 ARE THE BEST!!) and you will feel a change.
I am so glad that you shared this information. I am concerned about the impact of taking a synthetic med everyday for the last 20 years. I will definitely talk to my doctor to see if I can switch to a natural thyroid med.
Oh my gosh! 😍 I would love to go to a workout session outside after the sun goes down... some of my favorite childhood memories were of when me, my sister, and our friends in the neighborhood would go to one of our backyards after school and make up/practice dance routines 💕 I feel like exercising in a simular setting would be so cool! Uh so awesome 💓
I use the Natural Cycles app, birth control never agreed with my body and I feel soo much better being off it! I don't have hypo but I still feel a huge difference. Good luck with everything!
*Thanks for keeping it real with us! It was nice to see you raw without makeup and vlogging the trip by yourself without help. How often do you go down there to film?*
I was also on bc since I was 15. I went off of it a little over two years ago and switched to a copper IUD (a great non-hormonal method you might want to look into). The first few weeks was tough, but you definitely level out. I had gone on for acne, and now that I am off that continues to be something i struggle with. BUT being in tune with my body and cycle is so worth it. It is a journey!
yes! i had terrrriiiibblllee periods --- but once i got off birth control i seriously felt like a weight had been lifted and i then was able to get in some of the best shape of my life after that - and i have hypo too- i will say that now i have hit some additional health roadblocks as you know our hormones are always changing so my periods have actually gotten more intense again but i feel like its an eb and flow - and once you peel off the bandaid of birth control you can really start getting to the root cause - which is what we all need to be doing more fo anyway :) good luck!
Hey Katie!! I love you so much and you always inspire me to do better. The LSF workouts are the only ones I love because they are so easy to follow and not too hard to do! I had been on birth control pills when I was 16, changed to different ones and then changed to Nuvaring thinking the pills were causing my migraines. I switched to Paragard IUD which has no hormones in it in 2011 and have had no problems with it. My migraines didn't stop coming, and I did develop Hypothyroidism. But I love not having to remember to take a pill or insert the Nuvaring every month! I now take Armour Thyroid and my doctor said its helping my levels in only 6 weeks. I'm still very fatigued, but it is improving. Love you! 💙 Thank you so much for this video and please keep making great ones! Also, you need this for you car! 😉 Drop Stop - The Original Patented Car Seat Gap Filler (AS SEEN ON SHARK TANK) - Set of 2 www.amazon.com/dp/B00BYH6C1E/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_KhEvCb85D32Z8
I was on levothyroxine for several years but kept feeling very symptomatic despite having normal TSH and T4 levels ( I was never able to get an expanded panel ordered), and then was switched to Nature-Throid by another provider when I mentioned the fatigue and weight gain despite normal labs. In November, it was unavailable due to a shortage, and thus was switched to Armour. While I didn't notice much symptom improvement on Nature-Throid, I have noticed a difference on Armour. I have more energy, and I am finally able to lose weight again. I also only have to take a very small dose of Armour vs Nature-Throid. While I still struggle sometimes, life is much better in terms of symptom control/management.
I was on birth control for years and my body never really reacted well with it. so, I decided to go off of it & get an IUD to prevent pregnancy instead (there are lots of horror stories about IUDs but they aren’t bad whatsoever especially if you have a good doctor) but ever since I’ve been off of it, it’s been better for me acne wise, mood wise, etc! I think it’ll do good things for you!! that’s a good decision for your body
Hypo fatigue is frustrating! Family and friends have a hard time understanding why you’re so tired all of the time. I had to stop caffeine. The book Adrenal Fatigue by James Wilson is awesome! He recommends a diet pretty much the way you eat. Loving the vlogs!💕
Katie, I struggled with the same thoughts about birth control, and I was on it for 11 years. I just came off of it in August, and it wasn't a bad experience. My periods are a lot better, not awful like they were before I was on it, and my time of the month actually shortened. I just didn't want to keep putting it into my system because it's the only 'medication' I was on. Nothing crazy happened coming off of it either, I didn't get crazy acne, didn't experience difficulty in tracking my cycle-- it was regular right after stopping. However, with all things, it's different for each person.
Really enjoyed this post I have hypo and right now managing it on diet or trying to because the pills scare the heck out of me with messing with the body thanks for sharing your journey. Just nice knowing not alone thanks for putting yourself out there for all of us :)
I actually found your channel soon after I was diagnosed with a hypothyroid. I'd been gaining weight for about a year with no reason. My fatigue was debilitating, among other things. I went from a very active lifestyle to not being able to hold my phone to my face. By the time they'd started me on medication I was over a hundred pounds my usual weight. My weight has been stable for 6 months, since I started levothyroxine, but I've only lost about 6 pounds of the gain. It's so frustrating to have to wait on finding the right dose, and to rely on that medication to function. I miss exercising, I miss actually liking how I look. I had just recovered from an eating disorder, and it's been creeping back ever since I started gaining weight.
Spirulina has made a huge difference to me. Fatigue and anxiety was a big issue with me, now I feel so much better, it's worth a try! I use Pure Hawaiian Spirulina.
Go on ketogeic diet! With intermittent fasting definitely!! I did that and actually came off of Levothroxine for good! The doctor said I don’t need it anymore! All blood work came out so good! Trust me!!!😘😘😘best of luck my friend!
Love you Katie!!! I love how genuine you are and you’re more beautiful for it! Yes go off the birth control! You don’t need it especially when you’re already in a loving relationship. I stopped for a long time because of health concern. I don’t want to put more pills inside my body if it’s not natural. When I stopped the birth control, my skin brakes out ALOT! And I don’t get pimples even as a teenager. But it went away and I’m back to my clear skin. The only issue is that my period was not predictable like when I was on the pill. I also love your workout videos, you made it easy to follow and fun. I want to get rid of the extra weight and bloating that comes and go. The struggles are real when we are dealing with hypo! Thank you for your videos, it really helps me a lot! ❤️🌈👍💪🌸
I take nature throid as well and love it. I’ve lost 43 pounds since taking it. My hormones are finally balancing and I also quit my birth control to help with my hormones. Love watching your hypo videos!
Almost 10 years ago I had my thyroid completely removed because of Hashimoto’s disease. I honestly believe that birth control was a huge cause of many of my thyroid problems. I’d definitely recommend getting off of it ASAP. Also, recent bloodwork revealed that I have almost zero testosterone in my body, so my doc is putting me on a compounded testosterone cream. What’s been your experience with the testosterone pellets? Enquiring minds want to know! I must just say, it’s so encouraging to see someone keeping it real with the weight loss/fatigue struggles. So many people think I shouldn’t struggle because I’m on pure T3, and A LOT of it. But that’s simply untrue. The struggle is real!!! I’m borderline OCD with what I put in my body and how I workout. If I’m not, it’s entirely possible for my body to gain 15-20 pounds in a month! Ugh.... Ps.. LOVE your channel!
I would recommend working directly with your doctor as to when you plan on going off birth control. After I went off birth control I had not had my thyroid levels checked and ended up having too high of a dose of Levo which built up in my system and landed me in the hospital. My body just did not handle the change in hormone levels well with my medication level and elimination of birth control. Once everything was adjusted it has been fine. My situation may be an extreme and not a regular occurrence but it’s not something I had thought about when I went off the pill and felt it should be shared if it can potentially help someone else!
Have your doctor check your ferritin levels. My even when my tsh was finally at a good level, I was so exhausted and they found out my ferritin was extremely low, it was a 7. I have Hashimotos hypothyroidism. Blessings of health to you!
Girl! I totally hear what you're saying! Dealing with Hypothyroidism sucks! After being with an endocrinologist for over a year, I finally just fired/broke-up with her. (I know...a bit dramatic, but...) She would only focus on treating my Type 1 Diabetes and not my Thyroid because my numbers were in the "normal range." After gaining over 25 lbs (between my ill-functioning thyroid and constant increases in insulin intake), losing a ton of my hair, and getting so depressed I didn't want to get out of bed, I finally stood my ground with her and called her out on not treating ALL of me. When I realized I needed a doctor that would actually LISTEN to my symptoms and partner with me, I found a DO endocrinologist. What a difference he has made! It's taken me almost a year to finally start feeling better but the after effects have been devastating. I lost so much muscle-mass and strength and when you add on the weight I gained, I feel like such a weakling! It's been a rough and slow process but I'm working on it. Keep doing what you're doing cause I certainly appreciate you!
I went off the pill a few months ago after about 12 years. Be prepared for your period to go back to what it was like before (or to at least be different from how it is now). It takes a few months for your body to adjust so you might feel much better or much worse initially before it levels out. I felt much better. Because of that, be careful about relying on tracking for at least 6 months. There are also non hormonal birth control options that are more effective than tracking which might be good to look into.
I'm 22 (about to be 23 in March) and I had thyroid cancer when I was 15 and was also diagnosed with Hashimoto's disease during that time. So I've been hypothyroid for almost 8 years, and I remember when I was taking birth control at age 18 for about a year, (specifically I was taking TriSprintec - the pill). I gained 25 pounds and was so depressed and anxious. I stopped taking it, and immediately felt so much better. I have been tracking my ovulation and avoid having sex during that time (and I am married so I'm not too concerned about not taking /using a form of birth control at this time.) So I definitely support the decision of getting off of birth control and using other methods of protection, even if it's just to try it. I wish you all the best
I took natural thyroid did wonderful but now there is a nation wide shortage so I am now on 180 mg of armourthyroid and it helps a lot but yes the struggle is real! Today out out of no where I just passed out and took an hour nap... feel the struggle. I hope you start feeling better
Awesome video, would love to know what the pellets are that you mentioned. I have struggled with hypo for 17 years, and Am really struggling with it recently. I find these videos really help
I was on BC for a LONG time as well.....I went off to try to get pregnant and I have been trying to 6 years.........we have kind of given up. When I went off I did struggle with mood swings and sleep for probably 3-6 months. But then all was good. Good luck!!! 🍀Jessica
Love your channel! I don't have hypothyroidism, but I do have a low serotonin condition that presents as anxiety, OCD-like symptoms. After years of different medications, I found that 5-HTP supplements work really well! (go fig psych med industry!). However, if I take the 5-HTP supplements with the extra vitamin B, I get these awful cystic acne bumps on my jawline and my neck from too much vitamin B! It took me awhile to figure out the connection!! I can relate to annoying skin issues that seem out of your control :) Hang in there, I hope it gets better soon!
I have Hashimoto's and struggled with extreme eczema for years, until I came across the Medline Olivamine products. The skin repair cream is awesome as a daily moisturizer and the one with dimethicone was what enabled the eczema to heal. Seriously look into it - not greasy, smells nice, awesome.
I've been on 25 mcg of levothyroxine for 7-8 years and I always felt like it did absolutely nothing for me. My doctor always told me that based on my test results 25 mcg is the dose I should be at. Losing weight for me has always been such a struggle. I was able to lose 55 pounds over the course of about 10-12 months, but unfortunately was not able to keep it all off
I've said this before... But even if I don't do the workouts or anything but I'm just glad I found someone with hypothyroidism and I love you for it! I'm not on birth control, but I've always had irregular periods with super long cycles (thyroid doesn't help lol)... I think it was last summer (I think 2017) where i brought it up to my nurse practitioner who did a complete blood count and it came back normal but I wasn't happy with it cause it had been a month since getting it done so she had all my hormones checked and by the time the appointment for that results appointments came it finally showed up 144 day cycle... I'm normally anywhere between 35-80 days cycle wise so anything longer freaked me out but I know not to freak so much anymore
Thanks for the great video Katie ! I really like this kind of videos where you give your personal insights :) I have a question : while doing the HBSG 2.0, what kind of weights should we use during the workouts ?
I am 3 years Keto. The best thing I have done for the hypothyroid weight gain. Down 60 pounds and holding. And now I am adding cbd oil to control my ADD, Brain fog, inflammation and rest.
Completely feeling this vlog. Was diagnosed neither hypo years ago, just thought I was tired and overworked but it came up in a blood test. And also... my periods were SO AWFUL and I was also put on birth control to try and calm it down. I'm still on Levothyroxine now but lately have been having some new symptoms - mood swings, very dry eyelids and dry face and fatigue. I joined F45 in my neighborhood and it's changed my life as I've finally lost weight and feel amazing but just wanted to post and say this time you took to post this, speak about it makes me feel less crazy in the day to day of living with hypo. I'm going to try ashwaganda! I'm already on the maca train. My only question is are you seeing your regular physician for all your testing or it a combination with a naturopath? Did you get testing for vitamin deficiencies also? I'm just curious as I find with hypo it seems we are all just out here gathering as much info as we can to try and balance everything. Anyway, shout out from Toronto + thanks again :)
I have hyperPARAthyroidism, and had to have 1 of my parathyroids removed. I also have chronic pancreatitis. The fatigue I have is unreal and sometimes I feel like such a loser bc of it. I exercise, drink plenty of water, take supplements, am eating much cleaner and I still feel extreme fatigue. This is my biggest life challenge.
Hi, i have been hypothyroid since 2014 and been struggling with weight loss. I used to be very very fatigued but since a few months now sleeping for 6-7 hours every night has been helping. My blood reports haven't been normal since 6 months now but i don't have any symptoms now. My skin is getting better, hair is getting more soft and hair fall lesser. No more mood swings. Except for one thing that have been bugging me... My hair is greying in an alarming speed. I am 34. And when i say hair i mean all my body hair... Even found one in my eyebrow last week. I was crying and laughing at the same time. I am so glad, i found you. Looking at you i feel motivated to work harder in losing my weight. Can you please help on the greying issue.
Hey! So disclaimer I do not have hypothyroidism and am by no means a medical professional but like you, I had also been on the pill for an extremly long time. I had horrible 2-3 week long periods when I was 12 so I went on the pill at that time, I am now 26. I just recently decided to go off of it in August. I don't plan on getting pregnant I just wanted to go off of it because I don't like the idea of what it may or may not be doing to my body. I was super afraid to go off of the pill because everything I read was telling me I would most likely have the same symptoms as before I started going on it. Honestly going off the pill is Way easier than I expected! Everything stayed pretty normal (knock on wood) , just my period is now 4-5 days and a little heavier instead of 7 like when I was on the pill. I have a little more pain but not bad. The worst has been the sugar cravings I've gained a little weight because of the cravings but honestly it's not something that can't be managed. Definetly talk to your doctor about it first but I say ditch the pill! It's been a pretty great experience for me! Good luck!! ♥
Hi, great video as always. I am also , hypo and I take Armour Thyroid and it has literally saved me. I have had my thyroid out for almost 18 yrs. now and for the first 10 yrs. i was on all 3 that you mentioned and never felt any different. went on Armour 90 mg and felt great, then we just kept playing around with it . so now i take 90 mg one day and 60 mg next day and just alternate, stinks but Armour doesn't have a 150. The struggle is real and awful. hope you get balanced out soon.
Thanks for sharing! Luckily I quit birth control (on it for 10 yrs +) before I was diagnosed with hypo and didn't have any issues going off it (minor bacne). I also took vitex and evening primrose oil to help regulate hormones. Just on a low dose of Synthroid now for my thyroid and started trying with my hubby!
I recently was diagnosed with reactivated epstein barr virus as well as low testosterone. My symptoms sound so similar to yours. I recently came off of birth control also. My doctor felt like the extra estrogen was amplifying my ebv symptoms. I mention all of this because I have done so much reading on ebv and it is a huge factor for hashis.
I keep peeping that Lole bag!! I've had mine FOREVER and use it to haul my life! Tip: I use the yoga mat section for snacks so I don't get granola crumbs in my wallet haha (shoes also fit)
I have IIH, idiopathic intercranial hypertension. The first thing my dr did was have me quit taking hormonal birth control. I felt somewhat weird for about 2 weeks, but after that I actually felt WAY better than I had before. This combined with healthy diet changes, exercise, and weight loss, actually was able to put my IIH in remission, and has been for almost 2 years. It’s almost like I forgot how I felt before the birth control ( I had also been taking it for many years too). I also have much easier and lighter periods, that are more predictable and less ups and downs.
I have hypothyroidism too. I’m on trisoint. I was also on BC... only been on bc for 1 year and gained at least 80pound. I stopped taking bc November 2018. I just recently told my doc, and she said it was fine to stop taking it.
I was on the pill for about two years and hated taking it because it was an added thing I didn’t NEED to take. I recently switched to an IUD called Kyleena and it’s been the best thing I’ve done. It only releases hormones into the ovaries and not your whole body. I’m not going to lie getting it put in sucks but it’s so nice not having to remember to take something everyday!
I just came across your channel because I was just diagnosed with Hypothyroidism. For the past 4 years I blamed my birth control hormones (I had an IUD) for weight gain, extreme fatigue and over all feeling like crap. I had gained 40 pounds in 4 years after being skinny my whole life (I'm 49). So I decide to quit smoking, give up sugar (started Keto diet) and get my IUD out all in a 3 month period. Now I'm a swollen (edema), hormonal, FAT mess that landed in the ER with severe muscle weakness and dehydration. I had lost 9 lbs. until I got my IUD out. That seemed to be the last straw for my body. I have not only put that weight back on but another 5 lbs. and can barely stay awake longer than 5 hours without needing a nap! I don't know yet if you got off your birth control and what happened BUT I'm pretty sure that IUD was the start of my thyroid problems! I'll look up more of your vids and see how you're doing now!! XX
Omg!!!! Sometime i cant get up!!!! I even think is depresión.. but then i rememeber is my hipo!!!! I feel horrible!!! And everybody think that im lazy!!! :(
You are not lazy and I completely get you!! It never gets easy with the symptoms but we can only keep pushing. You do not have to keep explaining yourself to people because they will never understand until they are in your shoes. Be strong girl. Love you!!
Hey! I have been on the pill for 15 years so long!!! And i recently got off of it about almost a month ago. And i feel good im not as sluggish as i was. But there r no crazy mood swings so far or anything
I've been fatigued since post menopause. I've tried hormone replacement for quite a while but eventually didn't work well. I have thyroid nodules but my blood labs always look normal. My mom had thyroid issues as early as 32 and was on thyroid meds when she was older. I went to the endocrinologist he told me my thyroid is normal even though I have all the symptoms and my mom had long term thyroid issues. I"ve had fuzzy brain for almost 10 years now and it makes life difficult.
@@mickyp3668 I think you might be right. The other day it occurred to me i haven't been able to eat meat much since my postmenopause and my gall bladder coming out in 2012. I tried a supplement last week but it sped me up to much so I've been eating shrimp, etc. I've had a constant battle with constipation since 2012 which before my surgery and post menopause i never had an issue. My bones are deteriorating too including my teeth. I told my dentist the other day who I have known since the early 2000s that people don't know how I was before not like now confused a lot. I didn't even think about the b12 thing until last week. I was even playing with the idea of being a vegetarian but I sense this isn't the right time. thanks for your response.
@@BrunaPereiraPalis full panel. Years ago one of my doctors told me I had an under functioning pituitary gland and increased my estrogen. Right now I'm on no HRT.
Hi girls! Are you liking the VLOGs? Any other hypo questions drop them below! xoxo
May you share the best "on the go" snacks that are good for hyo?
Thanks for posting another great video! Loved seeing behind the scenes at Popsugar!! I'm currently on levothyroxine, I was wondering what symptoms led to you start taking testosterone? I don't know if I should be taking that too...??
Love the vlogs!
Love Sweat Fitness love the vlogs!💗
Dont leave too late for the baby .wish best of luck for future love u.
I struggle with hypothyroidism! And struggle with my weight. Thanks for sharing your story
Yes, the struggle is real! It is so amazing hearing your story! It just shows we are not in it alone!
Thanks :)
I loved this style of video. Felt way more personal, and felt like I could connect even more! Thanks for sharing your struggles!
Yes, I will try to keep that in mind! Thanks for the input!
I have hypothyroidism too, I have always felt that I was lazy for always feeling so tired. You make me feel a little less crazy that there is someone else who gets the struggle. Thank you for your updates and reminding me I'm not alone!
You are SO not alone :) welcome to LSF!
When I came off of birth control I noticed an increase in energy and my overall mood was so much better. Love your videos, they are so encouraging!
Thanks for sharing!! I will for sure try to keep you all updated with how it goes!
Thanks for sharing yours! It’s a lot to deal with for anyone, we all have to stick together 😘
Ya, I do notice when I workout I have more energy too!
Hi natasha u can not just stop taking ur tablets ur on them for ur life.
king Yousaf talked to doctor before stopped and got back on. Thankyou for ur concerns though!
So happy you found my channel Lauren :) glad you are loving the vids
I'm so happy to hear that! Thanks for sharing!!
Yes, so true girl! That is very sweet of you to say!!

Ever since I got diagnosed with hypothyroidism I struggle with fatigue, my weight, I am close to 200 lbs.😢 and no interest in intimacy.
+yvonnezido Yes!! That's me too. I end up hating myself for not following through.
+Neha Nauman
Thanks for tips. I will try those vitamins☺
More of these please! You are so inspirational and beautiful! Thank you!

Same thing happened to me!
I've been on armour thyroid for 5 years, has been working fine, I've been asymptomatic
Thats good that it was an easy transition for you!
Thank you for sharing your story ! You’re awesome Katie ! 🙌🏽🙌🏽
Go on ketogeic diet! With intermittent fasting definitely!! I did that and actually came off of Levothroxine for good! The doctor said I don’t need it anymore! All blood work came out so good! Trust me!!!😘😘😘best of luck my friend!
And also get off the birth control definitely!!!!!! Good job 👏🏻
Thx babe! Yessss all about the non BC life :)
Love the vlogs! Cannot wait to see more vlogs!!!!!!!!!!
LOVING these vlogs! Keep 'em coming!
So happy you’re loving them. Every Thursday!
Have your doctor check your ferritin levels. My even when my tsh was finally at a good level, I was so exhausted and they found out my ferritin was extremely low, it was a 7. I have Hashimotos hypothyroidism. Blessings of health to you!
Thanks for the advice! I will have to check that out!
Wow, thanks for sharing!!! Im glad to hear things are starting to slowly work out for the better for you!!
Thanks so much for your support!
I took natural thyroid did wonderful but now there is a nation wide shortage so I am now on 180 mg of armourthyroid and it helps a lot but yes the struggle is real! Today out out of no where I just passed out and took an hour nap... feel the struggle. I hope you start feeling better
You guys are the best Love your Greece and Aspen videos
Please keep these vlogs coming! 💗
Awesome video, would love to know what the pellets are that you mentioned. I have struggled with hypo for 17 years, and Am really struggling with it recently. I find these videos really help
Yay, so good to hear that!
WOW, thanks so much for sharing! It can be hard sometimes, but can be managed for sure!!!
Can’t wait for the app!!! What is a good whey protein powder??
I have Hashimoto's and struggled with extreme eczema for years, until I came across the Medline Olivamine products. The skin repair cream is awesome as a daily moisturizer and the one with dimethicone was what enabled the eczema to heal. Seriously look into it - not greasy, smells nice, awesome.
Went off the pill about two years ago, definitely a weird time period after. But tracking is important and my diet & exercise helped a lot!!
I've been on 25 mcg of levothyroxine for 7-8 years and I always felt like it did absolutely nothing for me. My doctor always told me that based on my test results 25 mcg is the dose I should be at.
Losing weight for me has always been such a struggle. I was able to lose 55 pounds over the course of about 10-12 months, but unfortunately was not able to keep it all off
Girl cant wait for the app to come out
Omg me too. Dyyying
hypothyroidism controls my life! My struggle with weight is real.
Such a fun day! Thanks for taking us along!!
I really like this kind of videos where you give your personal insights :)
I have a question : while doing the HBSG 2.0, what kind of weights should we use during the workouts ?
I am 3 years Keto.
The best thing I have done for the hypothyroid weight gain. Down 60 pounds and holding.
And now I am adding cbd oil to control my ADD, Brain fog, inflammation and rest.
Thank you for sharing! I was also diagnosed with hypo at a young age and have struggled to keep a consistent weight
Aww, I'm glad you can relate!
Hashimoto's Gal here! Kick ass vlog! You did great 😊
I have hyperPARAthyroidism, and had to have 1 of my parathyroids removed.
Luckily I quit birth control (on it for 10 yrs +) before I was diagnosed with hypo and didn't have any issues going off it
(minor bacne). I also took vitex and evening primrose oil to help regulate hormones. Just on a low dose of Synthroid now for my thyroid and started trying with my hubby!
Wow, thanks for sharing!
Loved the vlog what doctor do you recommend for making sure my thyroid works well and my hormones?
I love ur vlog !!!!girl❤❤❤❤❤
Wow, thanks for sharing girl! I'll have to remember to check that out!
Love you!!
@@ellaonwuegbu awwww you're so sweet!! Thank you so much!!! And you are right!! I don't have to be explaining! Thank you again 😘😘😘
Have you had your b12 checked .
@@mickyp3668 I, also, started veggie capsules and it seems to be helping. just a bunch of dried vegetables.
Life tobelived have you done a full panel or just TSH?
@@BrunaPereiraPalis full panel. Years ago one of my doctors told me I had an under functioning pituitary gland and increased my estrogen. Right now I'm on no HRT.
Hi! You might look into the copper IUD. It doesn’t have hormones.
Man I'm always so close to being first! How do you gals do it so fast?
#LSFNotificationSquad 💪🏻😘
Love your vlogs! I have Hashimoto's and I'm taking Armour Thyroid 120mg and Cytomel 5mcg. My body doesn't convert t3 very well
