Great video with a lot of nice gift ideas. Also, I knit almost all of my socks and they go right in the washer and dryer with my other clothes. They are superwash wool. I find that Opal sock yarn lasts the longest. Thanks for all of the great ideas!
This is my first time watching one of your videos and I really enjoyed it! Currently crocheting my daughter, she's 3, a cute beanie, it matches a headband I just made for myself. I'll be making another matching one for my baby girl, 7 months. Happy holidays and I'm looking forward to seeing more of your content :)
Salena Baca is an awesome crochet teacher. She’s the founder of the American Crochet Association. I knew the basics of crochet but through her I’ve learned sooo much. I’ve made most of her bag’s.
I just found your channel and really enjoyed this video. I just recorded a gift giving video on my RUclips channel that is coming up this Friday and it was fun to see what other RUclips friends are suggesting. I really enjoyed watching you and can’t wait to watch more episodes.
I put my superwash merino / nylon handknit socks in the dryer all the time and have never had an issue. It did take me a couple of years to get comfortable with the idea, though.
Great list of gift knits! I knit the Mara scarf this past spring and love that one. It is a 1 skein, fingering weight, bandana style, scarf with a little lace, and ribbing in the pattern repeat. It is also one you can weigh your yarn and start the decreases when you've worked through half of it.
Definitely loved this review. There are a few that I am thinking of giving a try. I like knitting or crocheting hats because they are a great quick gift.
I'm on my 4th Oslo Hat. I find the extra thickness of the brim flatters my head better. The mindless knit is necessary and a good break as I'm also attempting my first colorwork socks 😐
Loved this Cheek. So many good ideas thanks. Presently working on Anne Ventzel's Hilly Hood in brown merino dk with lace cashmere/possum/silk (Zealana Air lace) as a warm layer hopefully fitting under a push bike helmet for adult son riding to work in freezing Boston ha. Enjoyable creation and approaching joining in the round under the chin ha. I love these journeys we take! You have convinced me that he also needs a dark Oslo.....🥶 🥰 😂 🙏
i'm making cloudburst fingerless gloves for the first time. almost done with the first glove and I'm super happy with this project! only takes about 50 grams of fingering weight yarn, and the pattern is free.
Hi Natalie! I'm in Southern CA too. Yes it's definitely a little more chilly than usual so started my gift knitting early. Doing another Oslo hat for my son. Made 2 last year and it had a slouch so will knit about 5inches instead of the 7 it calls out for.
I knit the Aran weight solo scarf for myself last year, it’s pretty bulky but I still love it. I’ve also knit about 6 musselburgh hats, they’re nice gifts but take a long time. I think I’ll try the Oslo. I like the cloudburst mitts for gift knits and it’s a free pattern
i have some yarns in my stash that can handle tumble dry low!! there's definitely knitpicks ones you could use, if you want to knit for mr. cheeks. i know cascade heritage is listed as dryer safe as well!
My go to gift knits are penny gloves, Sophie scarf, and slippers. I did an Oslo hat for my mister. MIT was superwash and is way too large for him. I think I will pull it all out and knit again in a smaller size.
I really love your Sorgenfri scarf. Is there a special trick I need to know in order to get the pattern? I went to the website and subscribed. I found the pattern after a long search, but there is no offer to download the pattern. Anyway, thanks for your work in gathering this list of lovely knits,
So when I signed up for the newsletter I was send an email with a link to download the pattern. If my memory is correct ( it was a while ago), It took over day to get the email. I am not sure if this is still the way to download this pattern. I went ahead and emailed the designer so that I can get clear instructions on how to get the pattern for you and future viewers. :)
All my superwash sock yarn socks go in the dryer in a dryer bag on low. The superwash needs to go in the dryer occasionally to go back into shape. I have friends who just wash and dry them in their regular laundry.

I have a lot of socks I have knit and I always machine wash and dry them. They have held up beautifully and I wear and wear and wear them.

Nice! I’ll look her up. Thanks for the tip 🥰

Thank you! I just subscribed to your channel! Can’t wait to binge watch some of your videos 😊
@ omg!! That is so nice of you to say that and I’m loving your channel also dear 😘❤️
Hold two strands of sock yarn together to make quick, squishy socks.
I put my superwash merino / nylon handknit socks in the dryer all the time and have never had an issue. It did take me a couple of years to get comfortable with the idea, though.
Someone else said they do too! Maybe I should try it….

I just checked and I have added the Mara scarf to my favorites!
Thanks for the suggestion ❤️
Beautiful ideas, thank you very much!
You’re so welcome! Thanks for tuning in!
Thank you for your video. Sophie scarf is a quick knit and nice for a gift.
I’ll keep in mind for my inevitable way to late last minute Christmas knitting 😅

Glad it was helpful! Me too!! 🥰
This is great, thank you Natalie 🤗
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching.

How are your socks going? My first pair was a mess, but it gets easier!!
If you use wool free sock yarn, socks can go in the washer and dryer. My recipients of the socks prefer these to wool sock for its durability.
My family is allergic to wool, I use other blends, like bamboo or cotton with nylon. Works great, washer and dryer.
What kind of wool free sock yarn? I’ll have to look into for gifts🥰

I love the idea of hoods! I haven’t made one yet but you’re definitely convincing me. Hope you and your family stay warm!

oh those are cute! Love that. Thanks for suggestion!
I'm working on the musselburgh right now for my daughter for her birthday. I enjoyed your podcast. Thank you! ❤🧶
Nice! Thank you for commenting! And I’m glad you enjoyed it🥰

It’s such a good pattern. I’m thinking of trying to make a baby version for my friends baby next!
Superwash sock yarn does fine in the dryer
I’m so scared to try! Thanks for information. I should definitely be brave and try it.

Yeah I'm loving the cloud burst pattern! Deffinently adding to my list. Thanks for input :)

Great idea!! I’ll definitely be attempting to knit him some dryer safe socks

The super wash Olslo hat that I knit ended up really big too, but luckily the recipient has really thick curly hair so it worked!

Yeah my august socks stretched out a bit. So they may need to go into dryer
Thanks for info!!!
Headbands ❤
Always a good gift knit!
I make socks with crochet cotton.
That sounds intense! Does it hurt your hands?
Decreasing uses more yarn than increasing.
Thanks for info! ☺️
Super off topic, but are your eyes different colors?
Either way, you have beautiful eyes.
Aww thanks! No, they are both green/hazel. 😉
