Thank you for the inspiration list. I prefer these multi-craft lists over single-craft ones. I will just say that your social circle seems to expect much larger gifts or much more conspicuous monetary investment than I'm used to!
ohh thats an interesting perspective, I didn’t think about that! but definitely probably true! present giving was a really big thing in my family growing up, to the point where it actually got quite stressful, so we’re pivoting to much smaller gifts (like a book) this year 😊 I’m actually very relieved!! (also I guess as a couple we’re DINKs who work in tech, and my love language is definitely spending money as I didn’t always have such a disposable income) thanks so much for taking the time to comment! and sorry for the spiel aha 🧡
oh dear 😅😅 don’t listen to me, I’m just spouting nonsense on the internet! I think I’m just not understanding the usefulness - what do you tend to put in it?? I feel like coins would just fall out 🧐
I made 3 rybka pouches for this Christmas and am 100% sure they're all going to love them. None of them are people who carry hot sauce around either ahahah. Classifying a gift as cute or tacky really only depends on the recipient, not some inherent quality. I would favor any quirky gift like that over something that feels a bit more impersonal, like a pillow cover or oven mitts (unless I knew that they needed them, and were willing to wait until Christmas to get that necessity, and would absolutely love that specific design)
I think I struggle with gifts that I don’t feel have some kind of utilitarian use - i think it’s my anti-capitalist feelings around Christmas speaking!! but totally open to be proven wrong, i think im just not understanding what they’re for 😅😅 I feel the same way about amigurumis but i know im in the minority on that one!! and i totally agree - if the recipient loves it, that’s all that matters! not what some lame youtuber on the internet is saying 😂
@@nadia_makes I actually agree with you on amigurumis! I don't love things that I feel only take up space. The way I see it, the rybkas have a double purpose: the more useful one of carrying something (mine for earbuds, change, whatever, and others I made for pens which I know the person carries a lot) but also for expressing personality! Like the bag charms that have been in fashion lately, but more personal. They're a bit like accessories in my mind, not a necessity but a sweet thing to make you happy. Thank you for understanding, and lovely video ❤️ (Plus I asked people directly if they wanted them! Some said yes, some said no)
ah yess, I just watched Florence’s video and she mentioned there’s a pencil case size that I didn’t realize - I can definitely get on board with that!! forgive my ignorance and poor choice of words 🙏 I’m sure your recipients will treasure their gifts! and thanks so much for your comments, I truly appreciate it 🧡
Love aaaaall these ideas~ Definitely cool girl vibes all around 💛 I wish I had thought of these before starting my random collection of basic gift knits GAHH
So many great ideas!! For this Christmas, I’m making a headband, tabi mittens, a sweater and a miniature sweater as an ornament with embroidery on it. I loved your idea of making something smaller and gifting it with something bought!
By the way the technique that you mention in 27:38 is "crochet filet technique" and you basically have two patterns: one for empty space (two double crochet and chain stitch between them) and two for filling the space (three double crochet together) and it's like pixels! once you make a few you absolutely got the whole thing.
Freshly subscribed, loving the video! The beaded ornaments are very cute and I especially like the tip about the wool felt! Never knew there was a difference. I cant wait to get started on the hot water bottle pattern whilst flicking thru your older content! 🎉 Ty
oh thank youu, that is so very kind!! if you're anywhere close to the UK, www.woolfeltcompany.co.uk are a great company, but sadly I think that kind of thing is getting harder and harder to find these days!! thanks for checking out the pattern too! hope you're having a cozy week
Would not recommend to paint the candles with some of painting mediums because they are highly flammable 😖 guys always check what will touch fire lmao I love last minutes crafts because nothing inspire me more than a deadline!! So I totally will be coming back to this video because the ideas here is good; Thank you, Nadia!
omg yes - we love ourselves some fire safety!! every year I say I will start gifts earlier and every year I don’t 🤷♀️ I guess it’s time to embrace the last minute 🫡
Love the video ! Btw if you have candles that are too big for your candlestick you can pre-melt the bottom over a match/lighter and it will stick into the candlestick!
you know I’ve tried that so many times with the candlestick in this video, and every time it just falls out 🥲 but I think that particular stick is just very unwilling, generally this is such a good tip!! thank you for your comment!! 🙏
@@nadia_makes I didn't read the comment before I pushed the button, I am so sorry for the confusion of the misspelled and half words. I do like your podcast.

@@nadia_makes I'm glad you're trying to pivot to smaller gifts and less stress. I hope it works out for you and makes the holidays more enjoyable.
thank you - that’s very kind!! I hope so too 😊
rybka pouch is not lame, it’s a cute and useful design and that’s a perfect combination for a gift knit imo
i agree i was shocked she said that! it's so unique and a really fun knit, also great for things like earbuds or pens or coins.

Lame in my eyes too, perfect for my 5 year old though!

Looooved the video as always ❤
thank you lovely!!! 🥰
27:34 the style is called filet crochet!
Oof - thank you!! I have to learn this technique soon!
“Anything feminist and aggressive” 😂
literally sums me up in two words 😂😂
Can you say a sentence without using the word “like” ?
yes! the first sentence of the video doesn't use "like" :)
