- A music video for the song I Was Playing Drums by Danish band Efterklang. The new video is taken from Efterklang's latest album Magic Chairs.
Through a lot of hard work, and many days spent sliding about a muddy forest with a very patient actor, the team behind End of the Road Films created this visual counterpart to Efterklang's newest single. The video was created by Joseph Brett, Simon Taffe and Glenn Taunton with production design by Leila Watts.
We hope you enjoy it.
I Was Playing Drums is the second single from Efterklang's third studio album, Magic Chairs. The album came out February 22nd 2010 on Efterklangs own Rumraket label in Scandinavia and on 4AD outside of Scandinavia.

Excellent video, excellent song. Greetings from Acapulco.
I feel different about this band, since the first song i ever heard from them was this precisly and i became a big fan of EFTERKLANG. wishing if they are touring come to Mexico . . . For me the songs are elocuent, brilliant, good lyrics. (I'm not fond with coldplay in ANY of their songs) . . . Wishing tou the best!!! dahlia =)
@GecSword Hipster noise? Hmmm...to me it seems that the songs have only become more melodic...and further away from noise. Not sure what you're listening to.
Granted, Parades and Tripper are unbelievable in their own right. I just don't understand the hate of a more melodic, organic sound.
saw them live!! i was in germany and they played at a tiny club packed full of people. there was smoke in the air and beer on peoples breath. and it was the BEST concert i have ever been too. they are amazing!!
The song's great, but the video is kind of creepy i think.... I mean waking up discovering that you're being dragged through the mud by coloured strings.... and then all of a sudden more strings appear and suddenly your face is covered by them.... I would definitely find that scary... but I like the video :)
Wow props to this guy for subjecting himself to all that mud-sliding and string-grabbing. Made for an interesting vid.
Solace2 - 100% agree !
Fantastica! Musica e video semplicemente grandiosi.
Then i'm sorry to inform you that it isn't "can't", it's "can"
How do i know? I was in the choir for "An Island"
I don't know how it influences your graduate project, but I hope everything wen't well for you regardless :-)
It must've taken ages to set up all those strings in place. Amazing vocals too.
I made a music video for a film class a couple of years ago that featured a man running away from masked creatures in black robes. I'm not trying to promote it, I just think its strangely coincidental how my one of my characters looked like the red bird guy. But I doubt either of us saw either of our videos, especially not them seeing mine.
@emmadiamanda YEAAH!!, this band is awesome, They should totally tour in Mexico. I'd be there buying a ticket as soon as available!.

This is dark. :O
much loved :o)
I'm sorry to say it, but you guys have lost your creativity on the new label. Your new album is great, but it sounds like you got mixed up in a blender with coldplay and this is the result. Sure, I have a spot in my mind for that, but your old music used to tell a narrative on it's own. Now I think you're relying to heavily on lyrics to tell the story. I like, and from any other band it would be a success but with the immense talent you guys possess, I think there is something left to be desired
sorry, i've loved some of the songs they made before (without ever being a dedicated fan)
this doesn't seem quite as delicate and authentic as many other songs that they made before - the video fits quite well with it (which means it isn't, from my point of view, as good as... etc) - you can't always be the best - i only hope that this is not the way they're making their music now, but only a little mistake...
Wtf are you talking about, this song is amazing
there are 4 deaf people :(
