- DigitalHypno is a name that most people in the osu! Community are familiar with. He used to be a super consistent tournament player who did osu! Coaching but during his time of trying to help he was faced with a barrage of criticism. Today we will be looker deeper into the digitalhypno rabbit hole and why he is so hated.

I definitely agree on the overpricing of coaching itself. However there is some core advice that can help with improvement, that can help (other than play more) improving your playstyle in general, though thats more niche
I never saw DigitalHypno was hated though. Especially when I had met him in person at COE, he was super nice all the time
Yeah ive never seen anyone hating on him in the osu community much, in fact hes rarely mentioned.
"most HATED", 8 Minute long video, a year old drama 10/10 gotta get that bag
this is old, hes not even hated.
I don't think it's true that "play more" is the only real advice for improvement. In fact, the phrase "play more" has also been detrimental to some players' journeys through osu!, since it ignores other factors to improvement like mindset and a healthy lifestyle. I would never pay for coaching myself but honestly there are times I probably would have benefitted from it, considering I'm rank 23k with more than 1000 hours on the game, and many others have improved much faster.
Even within the game there is plenty a coach can offer. Maybe they notice a continuing bad habit you chalk off as something else, etc. I just think the prices are a little wild lol
The entirety of DigitalHypno's advice can be boiled down to "play more", "play maps that aren't far above your skill level", and "play maps that you're bad at the skills of". It's true advice, but nobody would pay for coaching if he was actually honest about what he would do for them. He presents himself as if he's some scholar of osu who will identify your issues and help you fix them, but what he actually does it just tell you which of those things you aren't doing, gives you maps to do them on, and charges you 50 dollars.
I've personally come to understand that the concept of having a coach/mentor for this game is basically in its infancy. Especially compared to other activities like playing an instrument, sport, or even chess. Those occupations have had decades to work out the kinks in structuring everything into something that could cater to almost anyone at most levels of expertise.
Looking at it this way kind of shows how it can easily become so controversial within the community. It isn't inherently a bad thing, but it may take some time before it's executed in a way better fitting for osu! players.
Nice video btw
YOOOOO it's the guy who helped me optimize my laptop
@@arynosu NO WAY LOL
since when is digital hypno hated?
Did he even has even one hater? Never have seen anyone hating him
@@DJ_Dodatkowy_Chromosom a lot of people hated on him because of his coaching sessions costing a shit ton of money but only offering the basic stuff that you can find on youtube for free.
Someone with a brain ily
He's pretty hated back then when he's farming badges
@@arynosu i mean i am not much into game community so i can don't know it
at 3:24 what hoodie is btmc wearing? its kinda nice and i wanna buy one myself
I appreciate ur content. from what I've seen so far youre very respectful and focus on the good points of people. Keep it up!
Very informative and entertaining. great video
Id pay habib for advice and tips and tricks he knows so much
kinda feel like this vid was you yapping for almost 9 minutes straight
Imagine hiring an osu! coach, like just click the fucking circles bro it's not that hard💀💀💀💀💀💀
I've never seen this in my life.
Imagine being mad that a big streamer payed someone $300 during a subathon for something that ended up not being useful :V
BTMC _literally_ wipes his ass with $300.
people are buying coaching, meanwhile i'm struggling to get 16 dollars to change my username
He's also the guy who started the cheat accusations on whitecat back before he got banned
I am a new player (at least less than a year; started 2023) and have risen to about #50k this year. I watched tons of DigitalHypno's videos when I was starting out. Super helpful and, hey, look at that, I'm an all-rounder (not exclusively speed, although it's not my worst skill either) player. Do I think he overanalyzes the game sometimes? Maybe. But I don't think he's just trying to make something out of nothing, I think he's genuinely just expressing his thoughts on the game and seeing if it can help others. I too have had many thoughts about the subtle details of my pen grip or table area and how they might be affecting my gameplay, but having this kind of analytic thought is just natural to those who think that way. His videos have been helpful and encouraging, and as with any creator, sure maybe they don't all hit 100%, but that can be said for anyone's videos. I appreciate the good osu! content from whomever it comes from.
I just don't like him purely based on the fact that he banned my friend from his twitch chat for saying "sup nerds"
To be fair to digital hypno I would still be trying to flow aim every single map instead of snapping. Also his advice does work for lower rank players I remember when I was first playing and he helped solve my acc issues and gave me maps to practice finger control and my snap aim on. So his osu coaching definitely does help. Btw I DIDNT buy the coaching I just watched his free yt videos💀💀💀
When you're new to the game it doesn't matter what you play, you just play and mistakes sort themselves out over time. I'd argue that higher rank players with bad habits would benefit instead
@@Bluebird-fd9rt i mean we can see that Ed gain nothing from his sessions with him, and i would say bad habits in general would generally develop more on lower rank players cause they dont really know what theyre doing and thats why his coaching are more oriented towards low ranking players and not top players
"prominent tourney player" is insane glazing when in reality he sandbagged and deranked in 4digit to stomp tourneys and get free badges while being 2digit in skill in his prime
my man, he has multiple badges from owc and corsace open... those are not free in the slightest
Thats the entire point.. he got owc and corsace open badges while also being 4digit and getting into 4digit tournaments
he deranked to win a few worthless badges, but that doesn't take away that he's still a prominent tournament player who won legitimate (hard) open rank tournaments as well. He does know a thing or two about winning tournaments
Calling any badge wortheless is crazy when theres so much that goes into it. Stop glazing a guy who wanted 50 per hour to tell you to play his 2* flamingo map to improve
@@suix1010 I was just correcting you when you pictured him as a guy who just won low skill tournaments... he won corsace open and osu world cup.
How to get better at osu!: play the game
imagine paying $70 for osu coaching when the only advice to get better at this frickin game is to play more
u r dum
@@wabbajocky8235?
ur probably 6 digit
Yeah play more 4-5 star maps and complain you're not even 4 digit yet lol. Change your grip to no end and get no good results. Switch from mouse to tablet and barely improve. Stay hardstuck below 200 bpm streaming ability.
I mean I personally wouldn't spend money on coaching but it's clear some people need guidance if their goal is to get good at the game.
Im not lol + nyanpotato better@@Chicony
this dude the goat
Did you change the title?
Yeah I was talking to digitalhypno about it and he said try it out, so I did.
If people are willing to pay 50 bucks for an hour of osu coaching, I say let Habib make bank
NIce
Enjoy what you enjoy, he enjoyed helping people
Idk that guy was always annoying to me
best video of all time
he is not hated and is one of the most knowledgeable osu players.... what is this attention seeking video title. nonetheless the video is well done
He isnt "so hated"
it's not a scam if the price is right there and he tells you what you are paying for
300$ ?
@@Arigatos i don't give a shit how much it is, it's not a SCAM if you know what you're getting
@@osuplaeyurreallygood the title is clickbait
@@Arigatos did not bother watching the video cuz this is like a year old drama
@@osuplaeyurreallygood So if you watched the fucking video you would actually get more context and information into this "drama" that you supposedly know about (looking at your comment and replies). You would have seen that DigitalHypno changed the price from $50/h to $150/h, however BTMC was unaware since he upcharged him AFTER the subathon had started, and he thought that it was going to be $50/h because they had come upon these terms BEFORE the subathon. Unless BTMC was a mind reader I doubt he could've known what he was getting into.
At least watch the video before you just start writing shit, I swear it's not only you it's a bunch of other idiots as well but I can't really stop you.
I'm Sorry
Looney tunes ahh cursor
yo wsg, im finally first
you may be first but have you watched the entire video yet. checkmate bucko
People should be aware of what they are paying for....
Digital Hypno sells it and the person buys it "if she wants".
Lmao crazy vid
honestly i just think osu coaching is a way of coping with your own incompetence
