- Got my chemo pump removed today, (wore it the last 2 days), and got a much-needed iron infusion to get rid of my anemia!
For the next 6 mos I'll be getting a fresh chemo pump every 2 weeks, wearing it for 2 days.
The whole point of chemo is to SHRINK THE TUMORS! :) So I'll be getting MRIs and PET scans periodically to see if it's shrinking them (fingers crossed!).
So far I'm handling everything just fine.
Dear Dr. Bockmann, I had no idea when I was at your office yesterday. I truly admire your courage and resilience. Please know that, beginning today, you will be in my thoughts and prayers, as well. You bring a lot of health and goodness to the world. Your service to others is invaluable and you should be very proud of that.
Bijan, you are wonderful. Thank you for your prayers. You are much appreciated!
Thanks for sharing your journey with us. ❤️ I’m in San Antonio so if you ever need anything, like a home cooked meal, just holler. Hang in there! 🥰👌🏼
Thank you, that is a lovely offer!
Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Thanks for sharing. You are a fantastic teacher.
Thank you, Becca! There's no way to prepare for this, obviously. But your encouragement definitely helps. Seriously.
I Appreciate your Courage to post this Prayers of Angels Wrapped around you with All Gods Strength Amen🙏
Wish you all the best
I hope you will continue Posting 👍💪💖🤗🙏
Thank you, that's the plan!
Thank you for continuing to post your updates. I was wondering if your anemia was related to the cancer or caused by it.
Great question, John! Yes, I'd never been anemic before, but the bleeding that can be associated with colon cancer led to the anemia, since I was losing more iron than I could replace through my normal diet.
After my iron infusion yesterday, I'm already noticing some increased energy levels, which is awesome :)
Problem with iron is that tue body can only absorb a certain amount of iron at a time.
