"Face my Waterloo" means find your match. 'Everyone always falls in love with me. This time I had to lose... I promise to love you forever.' A world wide hit by ABBA👑. Take care and... see you very soon Keith✌️ Love ❤️ from Chile 🇨🇱😘👍
This was their breakthrough single, helped no less by it being the winning song of the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974. The influences in the song, as well as the costumes in the video, are very much part of the, 'glam rock', trend that was prominent at the time. A very up-beat, swinging song, no less.
Hello, nice to see you again with your reactions to ABBA songs "Waterloo" (1974) is one of my favorites, and is in my Top 5 of all ABBA songs (with S.O.S. , Dancing Queen, The winner takes it all & Don't shut me down) and I think that is the song that change history, not only for ABBA, for Sweden and Eurovision too "Waterloo" was the song that ABBA wrote especially to participate in the annual Eurovision Song Contest By the rules of the competition the songs could not exceed 3 minutes (that its 2:46) and ABBA made a masterpiece! ABBA sing it in Swedish, for the local selection in Sweden (February 1974) and finally ABBA sing it in English in the final held in England (April 1974) before 16 interpreters and songs from all over Europe. it's a link to that historic moment: ruclips.net/video/Vp1_OKawHYw/видео.html "Waterloo" and ABBA win Eurovision for the first time for Sweden It will be Their first big worldwide hit: #1 in UK and half Europe (also South Africa), and Top 10 in U.S., Canada, Australia , New Zealand and the rest of Europe ABBA recording "Waterloo" in swedish, english, german and french Several years later, in 2005, to the 50th Eurovision anniversary, "Waterloo" was chosen as the Best Song in all the history of Eurovisión "Waterloo", with all the songs of my Top 5, and 14 more songs, was included in ABBA recopilation album 'GOLD' (1992) that is in their 30th anniversary with much more than 1000 weeks of permanence at Top 100 in UK Official Charts (first group singer or artist to do it in UK) I hope you have a nice weekend Kind regards from Buenos Aires Argentina 🇦🇷 South América P.S.: "Waterloo" is a place in Belgium where in 1815 was celebrated the most important fight in all Europe history

Napoleon Bonaparte (the french general) was conquering everyone, til he lost the battle at Waterloo (a place), or something like that... hence, waterloo became slang to any great man's downfall. it reminds us to be careful however invincible we may feel about ourselves, because the next big decision we make may prove to be our waterloo.
Can't begin to tell you how much I love seeing each new generation enjoy the music we grew up with. Makes it timeless and classic. Thank you so much!
Glad you enjoy it! - Very true makes the music live forever
