This is taken from his "Sound and Vision" tour which I saw in the old Montreal Forum. I camped out all night in line. and, despite the exhaustion I felt the next morning, was so happy when I purchased a ticket shortly after the doors opened at 8 am. I had a nice seat only a few rows up on the left hand side of the stage. The stage setup was minimalist and Bowie had a crack band of four other musicians along with him, including none other than Adrian Belew on guitar. He looked immaculate in his black vest, pants, boots, and crisp white shirt with ruffled sleeves. He effortlessly worked through his hits with a few rarities thrown in, danced, smiled, playfully interacted with the crowd and looked like a performer who had gotten his second wind after a period of dismal recordings in the 80's. He ended with Rock and Roll Suicide and the crowd erupted in applause and stood on its feet until the house lights came on and even still after that. I came home later that night knowing I had just witnessed "the return of the Thin White Duke."
The most beautiful chronicle on Bowie that I have ever read, because very felt but not rhetoric, poetic yet concrete, precise but essential, so vivid and vibrant that seems to relate an event happened only yesterday. For a moment I shared with you that presence together with the Master, immersed in that atmosphere of joy. My deep thank for having communicated your experience of sounds and visions from the Soul.
Seamusin1969 thank you for sharing your incredible experience. It must've been legendary, amazing, mind blowing, and everything in between. Really wish I could've seen him then

I love how his voice broke sometimes, it just shows how amazing as a performer he was, the movements, the looks, the voice, Bowie accomplished everything in every decade of his career.
The notes he hits, there realy has never been anything like him and never will be again, wanna lament losing him but the joy by hearing was enough the sadness does not matter, he exists forever in the stars
When you watch live shows like this you can't help but feel sorry for the children of today who are brought up in a time of crap music. You just don't get live music and performances like this anymore. Such a pity. RIP David Bowie.
lmao that's not the case, tho I don't think there's any "modern bowie" there are lots of exceptional musicians, even in pop you thinking this just shows how little you care about music, or that you're too lazy to dig through the mainstream stuff. I dont think you are but that's the impression it gives
@@inchiostra6893 theres no need for a "modern bowie." bowie will be bowie and new musicians will be themselves. no need to be elitist man, there are equally talented musicians today whether you like it or not.
@@sammymoran7492 Oh I didn't mean that there was no modern bowie in a bad way, of course there isn't and there can't be, that's normal What I also said was that there was "a ton of exceptional musicians", which means they're great, not under bowie or anything like that man
I’m part of the children you’re talking about. I’m a teenager and it’s sad knowing I’ll never see David Bowie, George Michael, Michael Jackson, prince, etc.
I must have listened to this version 30 times today. Something about is just so epic. I was fortunate enough to see him on the Glass Spider Tour in Atlanta in September 1987. Not his best tour I hear but I am fortunate to have seen him. Such a loss for music. The state of music these days true artists such as Bowie is a rarity anymore.
You should try the version from Portugal's concert, from the same tour and year. It's played the same way but better sound quality and David's interpretation is out of this world. For me,one of the best live versions of this song (in fact the whole concert was amazing). You won't regreat, cheers.
I think they stop creating the word or the sound for: Ohhh...or Ahhhj and then likely to fall into tears or utter silence in all of that man’s timeless beauty!
He is 1/2 young and 1/2 old here in the looks on his face. I know his face and music well and one moment I see his youthful face and the next I see his older facial expressions and I cannot help but cry, hard, very hard. I miss him more here tonight in late 2018 than ever before and I’ve been his fan since 1972 or earlier.
A man of principle - he knew taking any form of honour would in some way be affirming the draconian system of tradition that the British Empire stood for.
@peggy4676 A marked personality is certainly gripping, captivates. And when there is an explosive talent; when there is the fire of Art, and numerous studies, in-depth; when there is a cure for every detail, continuously and increasingly competent; when there is love in giving oneself, totally, changing every time and risking; when there is a very wide range of experiences, for intelligence, then becoming wisdom; when ... when ... there is a Genius as Bowie. Thank you very much, darling.
I think and hope I'm not wrong that it's a distorting effect by the lead guitar (Adrian Belew). You're right: an ethereal sound, very beautiful and suggestive, "magical", for introducing the atmosphere of an unforgettable masterpiece. Many thanks for viewing.
Wieder einmal müsste es absolut rollen mit DABO, denn er hat die beste Change der Musiker vom noch neuen Jahrhundert zu werden, ohne wenn und aber. Gruss PINADOBA
One of the best songs of all time. Just amazing.
瀕死の鳥のように両腕を上下に羽ばたかせるこのパフォーマンスが大好き。ずっと探しててやっと見つけた、感謝。

David Bowie
Einmalig gute Songs von diesem Künstler!!
He declined the royal honor of Commander of the British Empire (CBE) in 2000, and turned down a knighthood in 2003.
Kathyuk28 , the royals can stick their honours up their arses, I’m sure this was exactly Davids sentiment!
@@mikewest1542 He was just so humble, even leading up to his passing, how only his nearest and dearest knew his time was near. He was a true gentleman
@@mikewest1542 To be fair, it was Tony Blair (PM at the time he was nominated) who was a huge Bowie fan.
