Vegito/the Potara earrings are stated to have a rival boost due to Goku and Vegeta obviously being rivals, which likely boosted their strength quite significantly compared to the Metamoran fusion, which has no such boost. It's that boost which personally makes me give the edge to Vegito.
But they're the same person, gogeta also has a rivalry boost. That's logical.

Saying the Elder Kai is wrong with no evidence to back up your claim doesn't mean anything.
Gogeta’s best move only works on users with evil. I know I’m late so you probably wont see this, but Stardust Breaker one shotted Janemba because Janemba was LITERALLY known as “Pure Evil” and the living definition of Evil. The move disintegrates the evil in one, (not making them good, but killing them) and Vegito isn’t evil so Stardust Breaker couldn’t work on him. And you see, the last move Gogeta used was similar to Vegeta’s Final Explosion/Final Atonement. We saw Gogeta used much more power in the battle. (The final attack, the Meteor Explosion, Stardust Breaker which failed completely, big bang attack) While the only high power moves we saw Vegito use was a Final Kamehameha, and his Ultimate Kamehameha. Which of course, these probably lowered his time a LOT more, but he had the 1 hour while Gogeta has 30 minutes, so using up more power is worse for Gogeta than it is for Vegito.

tbh I feel like Gogeta is more popular due to him getting more screen time so he gets to do more cool stuff while Vegito on the main anime is always strictly limited and never given the chance to finish off his enemy, and that also includes SS4 Gogeta, he didn't get to finish off Omega.
They just never let fusion finish the job in the main anime, only in the movies.

All in all both are cool and it's okay to have favorites, some may like one and hate the other, some may hate both, some may even like both, just like me
I'd rather judge them from a neutral stance MOST of the time
But since majority is already leaning on Gogeta, I decide to lean on Vegito trying to balance an impossibly tilted scale for this one and wished that they shed some love for him
We can debate all day on who's more of A skilled fighter but it's nearly a fact that potara is stronger then the fusion dance and it has A longer time limit the reason Vegetio unfused so quickly was because Goku and vegeta has less master SSB forms and he didn't know about the time limit being shorten.

Because they used both Canon and non canon sources the Time limit wasent a factor for Vegito, and thus he could keep up full power about twice as long as Gogeta. If it was purely Canon appearences Gogeta would have won simply by feats alone but because of Super Heroes Scaling they are relatively the same with only databooks telling who would win and that happened to rule in Vegito's Favor

Yeah this is just wrong. They are using a hypothetical current Vegito vs current Gogeta. What would be the point of using Future arc Vegito vs Broly movie Gogeta? That doesn’t prove that Gogeta is stronger than Vegito, it just proves that Goku and Vegeta have gotten stronger since the Future arc.

I’ll never understand why people say that Vegito was cocky in his fight with Buu. Vegito already analyzed the situation on how to save his family before the fight started, and to do that, he would have to get inside of Buu. But he can’t straight up say “eat me” or make it easy for him, then it would be too suspicious and Buu would know what he was trying to do. He had to make Buu think he was all his doing and he won the battle because of him believing that Vegito was just too cocky. When Vegito cut off Buu’s antenna, he left it there for the very reason of Buu using it to attempt to consume Vegito. His last attack, he ended his combo right above the antenna and then even flipped him over so he would literally be staring at it.
That fight was showing how much more intelligent Vegito is than Gogeta. If Gogeta was there instead, then he would’ve killed Buu along with his family, or tried to do the same thing Vegito did, and fail in the process.
Vegito is physically stronger as well. Idk why the 4 King Kai’s would make or have a better Fusion than the Supreme Kai’s that are so much superior, that the King Kai’s literally thought that they were legends.

Also they decide to retcon Potara's permanent fusion only works for deity. As of DBS, Potara got a shorter time limit compared to fusion dance. During Future Trunks arc Vegito defuse after fighting for a short period because he used too much power as super saiyan blue, while Gogeta could maintain blue form way longer.
vegito had a 7 minute time limit just in SSB while gogeta always has a 30 minute time limit

Bro, there's a small time skip before Goku decide to visit Broly. Remember how Cheelai and Lemo manage to reach Broly's planet with their small spaceship? There's no way they manage to reach planet Vampa within a day.

Vegito is all plot. Kefla ssj2, was able to shoot out those beams that if they touched Ui goku he would've gotten one shot him. Unless you think merge zamasu would one shot ui goku( his 2nd time transformed), and there is still a gap then it don't mean anything. However if you don't, then kefla was producing more power then vegito and merge zamasu, and didn't diffuse. Also idk why people even surprise who won when gogeta won the extra like a year ago.

That’s just completely wrong, if the dance just adds their power levels then there would be no point. Goku and Vegeta were getting washed by broly but once fused started to dominate him. The fusion dance and the potara clearly are both power multipliers

In the broly movie the creator said he only made the fight with gogeta and broly look dramatic because of how one sided it was that’s why it was breaking dimensions and there shouldn’t be a debate if fusion dance is 2+4 while the patara is 2x4 and in a dragon ball z guide it said vegeto is the perfect fighter I think that fusion brings out the true potential

The daizenshu for SSJ multipliers are mistranslated into English as "higher than SSJ". Reading Japanese, it stated that each grade follows this certain rule. Grade I SSJ is x50, Grade II is 2 times Grade I, Grade III is 4 times Grade II, and Grade IV has already been confirmed by Guides to be mastered SSJ which is stated to be 10 times Grade I. Yes, Every state is stated to have Grades. SSJ4's Full Power states are also counted as Grades because it isn't the actual full power of SSJ4 until Ultra Full Power SSJ4 (Mastered SSJ4 according to Xeno Goku). Remember they are using Canon & Non-Canon. Using the facts from the canon guides these go as follows below.
Thus SSJ Multipliers are as follows:
Grade I SSJ: x50
Grade II SSJ: x100
Grade III SSJ: x400 (speed cut back along with stamina)
Mastered Super Saiyan/ Grade IV SSJ: x500
As I said all the SSJ forms starting from 1-3 follow this rule. As stated by guides. Except for the part where the dot states the multiplier for x2 would work to go beyond SSJ. x4 would be for SSJ3 to Mastered SSJ2.
Mastered Super Saiyan 2 would be 20 times stronger than Mastered Super Saiyan.
Grade I SSJ2: x1K
Grade II SSJ2: x2K
Grade III SSJ2: x8K (speed cut back along with stamina)
Mastered Super Saiyan 2/ Grade IV SSJ2: x10K
Grade I SSJ3: x40K
Grade II SSJ3: x80K

Full Power SSJ4 is 10 times stronger than SSJ4 (1000 times stronger than SSJ3 because he was on par with Great Ape Baby according to the anime.) This would be 400M times base
Ultra-Full Power SSJ4 is stated to be 10 times Full Power SSJ4. Remember Goku could use Full Power SSJ4 at will & he didn't really get a break from fighting the entire time. So yeah it is 4B times base.
According to Xeno Goku, when he first accessed SSG (Super Saiyan God) against Zalama, he stated that the SSJ4 forms are child's play in comparison to the power he is using. I'm not gonna toot my own horn here, but according to the Legend: 5 SSJs pour their hearts and beliefs into one SSJ. According to manga, anime, DB Legends, and DB Online (which is stated to be a part of the canon timeline, the power of each wouldn't be added, it would be exponentially exploited/powered further beyond any current limitation of the body. I have estimated for Grade I SSG would be 15.625 Billion times base. I say this because 50 to the 6 power... would be 15.625 Billion, meaning if Goku had mastered SSG as he did later in the anime it would be 15.625 Quadrillion. So yeah. literally child's play in comparison. SSB is stated to follow the same rules as the SSJ multipliers meaning. Stack them on top of the SSG power. You can multiply from there. People who claim to be scalers and - wait... I forgot about SSJ4: Limit Breaker. If using Kaioken x20 on top of Blue for Goku is stated to be on par with SSB Evolution. Now hear me out. Kaioken times 20 isn't multiplying the power by 20, yet it is most likely multiplying it by 40. Before you say "bruh Nah", hear me out. Hit stated that Kaioken stacked on top of blue was already 2 times stronger. He said so himself. and so did Goku. Hit stated, "his power again is multiplying by 2.. no..4... 8... no." Goku stated "Times 10!" This means that the Kaioken multiplier by itself is (2 x n). n is the variable being used to describe the form multiplier. And now it is back to the way it used to be. Meaning SSB Evolution is 40 times higher than SSB itself. in DBH Goku Black stated you can go further beyond but chose not to. So yes. This confirms that SSB and SS Rose are almost one and the same in terms of evolution status. Goku Black also stated that Vegeta's SSB Evolution is a cheating tactic because he evolved SSB instead of furthering the form itself. He stated SSR Evolution is many times stronger than SSR but again... consistency needs to be in place. Since someone apparently found out that the UI-Sign Multiplier is however many forms the user has x2 which is stacked on their highest achieved form. so idk what to tell y'all but yeah. Gogeta should've won here. he has access to Perfected SSB Evolution. Take that as you will. I love Vegeks. I'm super biased when it comes to Vegeks, but I'm not delusional. Vegito doesn't have SSB Evolution access as from what we have seen. But he uses Kaioken instead all of the time. Idk why. But if he did, it wouldn't have mattered knowing his Potara fusion would run out before he gets the chance. Meaning Gogeta would win. Gogeta shouldn't have disintegrated here at all. Remember Goku was extremely exhausted which imbalanced the fusion in GT. His power was fading. As we saw again in GT. But this was a full-power Goku & Vegeta, LOL. So their argument is null and void when it comes to fusion time. Gotenks is able to stay fused for 30 minutes using their full power because the users are both at full power. Using the multiplier, it is what it is.

A lot of people forget that Vegito gets a Rival boost while Gogeta doesn’t and Soul Punisher only works on Evil Beings so this fight obviously goes to vegito
One thing they got wrong was Vegito unfused cuz Goku and Vegeta's power were too great for the potara to handle yet Gogeta unfuses when energy has run out since that is what's needed to fuse and Gogeta blue breaking dimensions and using a variety of super attacks to take down Broly he still had a lot of power left and he certainly didn't get tired. So meaning Gogeta is more tactical in using power whereas Vegito is just cocky and toys with his enemies also the fact that they mentioned GT Gogeta as Gogeta's core personality is just wrong.
That first part was my main point. They would defuse faster than Gogeta in my opinion

Sorry but vegito is not cocky he is using strategy In order to win like against buu for example he didn't immediately kill him because he wanted to save the others in him against zamasu it's because of immortality and also he was about to end zamasu in that instance and had to use alot of power to end him so that's why he defused faster sure they may be wrong with gogeta having to manage energy but again vegito has double the time limit sure gogeta may have a longer one in blue but it isn't really much of a difference

Well in the manga Blue form dramatically drain the energy before 100% mastering it and Goku mastered it right after Vegeto defused so it make sense why Vegeto seem to drain out way too fast in the future arc
I'm ok with vegito winning but how he won was stupid ☠They said they would use everything including SDBH and they didn't use gogetas not vegitos full forms but let vegito get kaioken at the end. It's just a whole mess, if they let gogeta get his forms in SDBH then gogeta probably would have won.

My point was which fusion would split first. Not necessarily the stronger fusion. Vegito split against Zamasu because the power output is limited by the earrings. Here's the thing, those are 2 very different situations. Vegito was going full tilt against Zamasu which means his time limit had to get shortened. Gogeta honestly didn't need Blue for Broly as Broly was that much weaker. The point is that one of them were fighting an Immortal Deity set on killing every mortal and the other was fighting a glorified manchild throwing a temper tantrum.

You can't compare their feats at all, just their abilities and techniques can determine who wins, since gogeta was summoned at a point where Goku and Vegeta were much stronger than when Vegito was summoned
potara fusions are stated in the anime and the manga that they are the superior way of fusing because it basically is goku's power x vegeta's power
while for the Fusion dance to work goku needs to lower his power level to match vegeta's so by that logic vegito should 1 shot gogeta and it's not even close
A quick reason why vegito slams if goku has a power lvl of 100 and vegeta 90 the potara would simply be 100x90 whereas the fusion dance requires equal power so goku would have to lower to 90 so it would be 90x90 also it was kind of just stated that potara>dance and also vegito was stated to be a PERFECT fighter gogeta has never been called this also vegito has more statments of being on beerus's lvl

DeathBattle clearly sees the two fusions as Almost the same (Which is incorrect), only difference being the need to lower the power for the metamoran, and not for the potara. They don't know about the multiplier difference statements, and did the battle based on the only superior aspect to the Potara being No need for powering down. The difference would be astronomically small.
My comment is based on their Incorrect understanding of the multiplier. If they truly believe that the only downside of Metamoran when compared to Potara, is Having to match Powerlevels, then Gogeta should have won by feats and a much better arsenal of unique abilities.
If they decide to powerscale incorrectly, they atleast need to be consistent with their inconsistencies. Otherwise you get the right outcome, but for wrong reasons, or wrong outcome for right reasons, which is exactly what happened here.

DB even explained both would have defused quickly due to going full tilt quickly. So they made sure to both they would slowly build up in the fight. And since Vegito has a longer fusion time more than likely he wouldn't run out as fast as Gogeta

In the manga Vegito was confirmed to be Stronger than Beerus, during the future Trunks saga, whereas Gogeta is unconfirmed but rather stated, lilke Vegito, he was a trump card, granted it is not certain if the movie followed anime/manga continuity, so therein lies the issue to determine the strength of Gogeta. Granted Potara is stronger due to both people multiplied by each other, power level, strength, mentality, while Metamoran is an amplified power increase to be unknown, though it seems it adds the two individuals together and multiplies their strength accordingly, which depending on their level of strength and power could, theoretically be stronger. So logically at this point Vegito would indeed have to win as a result

To all those saying that Gogeta has more wins, while he’s true, Gogeta would’ve “lost” the same fights that Vegito did if he was put into that’s situation.
The whole point of Vegito vs Buu was for Vegito to get absorbed in order to save Gohan, gotenks, and piccolo. Both Vegito and Gogeta could speed blitz in one shot but that would literally kill their family members.
Zamasu was also mostly immortal and also portara, so even tho Vegito showed the advantage the whole fight, zamasu was immortal. And the whole reason Vegito was mocking Zamasu the whole was to get Zamasu to doubt his immortality, then being able to win. Gogetas time limit would run out too.

Gogeta has been shown to go into fights with no plan whatsoever and just wings it, where as vegito right from when he fuses always knows what he’s going to do to bring down his opponent. If we were to take a pair of gokus and vegeta’s from the broly movie and they fuse into the two fusions, I don’t see how gogeta would win. Vegito would be aware not only of the time limits of both fusions but also all of gogeta’s moves and his personality. There was this whole video from trending in Japan saying toriyama said Gogeta and vegito was equal in power so I got so confused on how Gogeta lost 😂 But it made sense. My 2 complaints with this battle was that they mentioned dragon ball heros stuff like limit breaker and SSBE. I know death battle does this a lot where they mention character abilities and don’t use them but imo they should’ve used the hero forms, we need to see who would win at their highest point. Vegito used Kaioken so….why not use these other forms?
My other complaint is how Gogeta lost. Not when he turned to dust but when he threw the stardust breaker. Everyone says “Vegito wouldn’t be affected by this attack because he isn’t evil.” That literally does not matter. Gogeta used it on broly and while it didn’t kill him, he still got hurt by the attack. Broly literally screamed in pain and agony when he got hit by it and broly literally is shown to be a gentle giant. It’s safe to say if your not evil stardust breaker will hit like a normal attack. So Vegito’s Kamehameha would’ve gotten canceled and the dragon fist should’ve made Gogeta win. The battle should’ve ended differently that shows off their battle IQ much better
Vegito used Kaioken because he had more leeway with exerting his full power. Gogeta has half of his time limit. This time limit is why Vegito only pulled out Kaioken at the end.

No disrespect but this is a big miss. Vegito has too many statements saying he's stronger due to Potara being stronger than Metamoran fusion. Again due to Metamoran needing the fusies to be of equal power that would mean 1 of them would be weaker than the other. Gogeta has no statements or feats that prove he's stronger than Vegito at all, the closest you can get is that one statement fro movie material I beleive wheere it stated their equal trumpcards which has been proven to be within the contect of them being the best Gku and Veegat can bring out in a fight not that they're equal in power. Also the rival boost for Potara which you can get upto 300x that of the already fusion. Stardust Breaker / Soul Punisher wouldn't work on Vegito as he's not pure evil as it although damaged Broly didn't do significant damage unlike some of his other attacks did. This BRoly was full of rage and evil tendencies and he got out of it midly scratched so Vegito taking more damage than that is blatenly false. Vegito has too much going for him, Gogeta doesnt compare
I do agree with Vegito winning that fight, many sources stated that vegito's multiplier was far higher than Gogeta's and the only source I know of that states they are equal or that Gogeta is slightly stronger was from non-canon movie hype, but the reasons they gave about "lowering the power level makes them weaker" is stupid and the timers are pretty equal too. Also, Gogeta does have strong techniques for sure, but most of his techniques like the stardust breaker only affect "evil" beings so it wouldn't really affect Vegito.

I think one thing needs to be added is that Fusion Dance is the powerful Fusion type but it takes some time to fuse.
But with Potara Earrings, you could fuse instantly. If Goten and Trunks used Potara Earrings, then their form still wouldn't be as strong as SSJ3 Gotenks.
Goten and Trunks using Fusion Dance was the best choice considering they surpassed Buu but since they were still Kids, they were inexperienced and Buu used that to his advantage.

I think what they mean is that for the fusion dance it requires the users to match power levels meaning goku has to match vegetas slightly lower power level. Basically Fusion dance means their power is 500x500 but Earings is 505x500, meaning that Vegito would have a slightly higher power level.

It seems that DB isn't it for you. Gogeta has beaten Vegito fair & square as well in a one-on-one in DBH & DBF. Gogeta only used 10% of his full power against Vegito. This was because he hid the factor his power is magnified/amplified beyond. You also mistranslated what the actual daizenshu states. A x B x the rival boost (which is stated to be 10 btw). A is how much stronger than B. You multiply whatever number A times B. Gogeta is A x 2 x 10 (or 100 depending on how you scale magnification) which makes Vegito & Gogeta almost equal in base, right? Wrong. Gogeta's base multiplier is actually said to have a greater multiplier than 10 in the daizenshu. Amplify & Magnification are almost the same in Japanese which is why it's so mistranslated all the time. Vegito's is amplified meaning so is Gogeta's. Gogeta, which if based off of everything, including what you didn't include here, literally wipes the floor with Vegito. Vegito isn't stronger than Gogeta, based off of Vegito's words, & Gogeta's smarts, feats, & prowess. Get right. Please... You nerfed Goku the same way. Please do more research next time. I don't mind the wait for a good fight. You want to give a show, that's cool, but people are actually believing what you're saying as fact, and IT ISN'T. I'm a Vegito fan but even I'm not delusional. If the man says something that has been proven to be true, then don't go do the opposite just because everyone else loves him more. Gogeta has also been stated to have power that surpasses God in base. In daizenshu. This is why he's been stated to be an omnipotent being in daizenshu & in interviews. Even canon games have stated the same thing (Yes DB Online is canon. Stated to be by Toei themselves.) Also, next time, if you're including SSJ4 Gogeta, include SSJ4 Vegito because Gogeta's has been stated to surpass Vegito's. JUST FYI... Another fun fact: Gogeta erases people who have evil in their hearts using Soul Punisher. This means Gogeta should've won using Soul Punisher. Vegito doesn't have that utility because he isn't pure of heart like Gogeta. That doesn't mean he won't kill if it comes down to it. Vegito can pierce immortal beings, but Gogeta can also use blades like Vegito as well. DBH Manga proves it and so does the daizenshu. As I said, next time, do more research and include it all. You never had an issue before making long vids, this one should've been long.
Edit: Let me add something. My favorite fusion is Vegeks (The fusion between Vegeta & Trunks). I'm using what they should've used here: what they stated to be "everything" (ABSOLUTE BS). In addition, The actual fusion multipliers according to the fusion for Vegito are stated to be: (Kakarotto x Vegeta) x 100. 100 is the number mainly used to define an amplifier. Gogeta's fusion multiplier is stated to be: (Goku + Max Vegeta) x 400. 400 is because significant means 4+ times greater. Magnification at minimum for DB has to be 100 times. So technically (A x 2) x 400. Meaning they are both even to each other in terms of multiplier usage. This is what I've gathered. On Top of that... SSJ4 is stated to be 100 times SSJ3. Full Power SSJ4. confirmed to be 1000 times SSJ3; Ultra-Full Power is stated to be 10,000 times stronger than SSJ3 (10x full power according to guides). The daizenshu for SSJ multipliers are mistranslated into English as "higher than SSJ". Reading Japanese, it stated that each grade follows this certain rule. Grade I SSJ is x50, Grade II is 2 times Grade I, Grade III is 4 times Grade II, and Grade IV has already been confirmed by Guides to be mastered SSJ which is stated to be 10 times Grade I. the thing is vegito was in the black saga last time we seen him in super and gogeta is closer to the modern events of dragon ball in the broly movie so. Most people use the younger version of goku and vegeta fusing into vegito and use a older version of goku and vegeta so if vegito was fused with the more modern goku and vegeta and gogeta uses the same versions then i think vegito is gonna win because he has a longer time limit.
I will give Death Battle this the comment on "in DB the stronger opponent can override the weaker opponent abilities" is a true DB powerscaling statement. In DB if you stronger than someone else you can override(just say no to) their hax w/ few exceptions. A lot of people forget this fact so I'll give them that.
time isn't a factor when both have ran out in 10 minutes and vegeta is not evil there is evidence to back this up so the soul punisher(the rainbow ball)would not kill vegito at all and focusing on just the broly fight is not smart when they said they would be looking at "EVERYTHING" not just canon stuff like fused zamazu and broly and while the dance brings out "some power" the potara brings out much more of there inner power making the potara much more stronger hell elder kai,the dragon ball encyclopedia and the data books say this to and the reason he turned to dust was because he used to much power to try and keep up with vegito especially since he used 3 power moves back to back meteor explosion,soul punisher and dragon fist(pretty sure he went royal blue at the end as well and vegito used kioken as well to overpower gogeta)

I said this on one video and I’ll say it again! The actual fighting video is not how the actual fight would go, they’ve said it several times in older videos that the fights are purely for entertainment.

In Dragon Ball chapter 489, Goten and Trunks confirmed that Metamoran fusion can have its time reduced by using power and strenuous transformations. Additionally, Vegito messed around with Buu on purpose so that he could get inside and free the people he'd absorbed. Against Merged Zamasu, he was fighting someone who had literally been made immortal by the Super Dragon Balls and it required Zeno erasing an entire timeline to kill him for good.
Also, the most popular character always loses? Then why did they say that Naruto beats Ichigo, Madara beats Aizen, Boba Fett beats the Predator, Obi Wan beats Kakashi, etc? Dante beat Bayonetta. Is he less popular than she is? Is Yoda more famous than Mickey Mouse?
Edit: Got confused with Pokemon but my other examples still show that being more popular doesn't mean you lose a DB.

isnt the earrings just straight up stronger than fusion dance, and its just that the goku and vegeta in broly movie were significantly stronger

this is just fan fiction but i guess that fusion just has a limit of 30 mins while potara has a base limit of 1 hour but with increase in power the time decreases as we saw in the battle with zamasu while gogeta was clearly using much more power than vegito but didn't defuse fighting broly
So basically gogeta has a much better track record than vegito
