Dear Dan and Pops. What a great ending to a magnificent day. Thank you for sharing it with us. Imagine it would've been a great adventure sitting there in anticipation of a magnificent raptor flying in at any moment. And it was interesting your observations about shutter speed and artificial light. One would think you would have to go faster but indeed you have to go slower.
Dear both - thank you so much for this series - desperately trying to sort work commitments so that I can get there - keep up the great work - really appreciate your films and advice
The barn owl footage at the start had me hooked! Absolutely stunning. Such beautiful birds and what a privilege to be able to sit and watch, film and photograph them. All three videos have been magical and I say this hand on heart, your videos are good for the soul, and anyone suffering from any form of depression should watch your channel. The natural world is the best therapy, in my opinion.
That was way cool! I'm sure that you guys were so very excited! I was excited for you! P.S.: I got some images of a red-shouldered hawk last evening! I was quite excited for that as well... Thanks again for letting me hang out with you guys! TARA!!!
Bravo Dan and Pops, another fabulous video!! Top class presentation and commentary as usual. I have enjoyed these three videos immensely. It must have been a very special day for you both. Cheers Des
@@fraud1able oh no I don’t think I’ve received anything, I would’ve been well up for that as well 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️ although the rain has been pretty much nonstop today
You two are absolutely outstanding and the footage and knowledge you impart to us is invaluable . The images are delightful and so pin sharp they are first class indeed award winning in my eyes . Look forward to your next outing.
What a remarkable trilogy of videos at an amazing location. The enthusiasm from you and Pops, quite apart from your stunning results in terms of photos, really comes across 🙂 Five Barn Owls on a perch? I would need alcohol or drugs to see that 😂 My only complaint is where was Pop's revenge for your wind up in part 2? Maybe he is pacing himself to completely surprise you one day? Great work Dan!
Thanks very much Richard, as always I really appreciate your comment and support. Pops always gets his revenge but usually off camera. I have bruises to prove it 😂😂😂 All the best mate
When your dad said he’d never seen a Barnie up close it made me think. Your average person will never see a Barn Owl in the wild, how sad is that. 10 years ago, we travelled from South Wales to Dorset with my wife’s parents to visit her brother for a long weekend. I was in front with the family Labrador, my wife was driving her parents car behind. 5 minutes from Lulworth Cove, as we drove along a B road, there on a post on my passenger side where in broad daylight stood a Barn Owl. I stopped right beside it, it wasn’t bothered in the slightest, and sat there happily posing. Behind me, in my footwell was my 100-400 which was attached to my camera, the camera which had a 100% dead battery, as I’d decided to charge it when we got to our cottage. Probably the best view of a wild Barn Owl I’ll ever have, and I never got a shot of it ☹️ Today, having a mirror less camera body, I have 4 batteries for it. Back then, my Canon 7D would go all day on 1 battery, so I never had a back up.
I absolutely agree with you and it’s the one thing that I try to never take for granted. Our wonderful hobby certainly gives us some incredible moments that many people will never get. Thanks very much I really appreciate it mate👍🏻
What a magic day! I have been asked on more than one occasion, "What is your favourite bird species? " and I just can't narrow it down to one but if I could choose my top ten species the Barn Owl would make it on my list. Beautiful birds.👍
Dan, thoroughly enjoyed this series of videos, like all of your other videos. I'm curious how many CF Express cards did you have with you and what size? I can imagine going through quite a few cards for an all day adventure like this. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks very much, I appreciate it. We had 2 cf express cards in each Z9. They were SanDisk 128gb each. We then had a spare card each. In addition I had my laptop and hard drive with me to dump images onto if we needed extra space 👍🏻
Thank you guys what a fantastic trio of films.
It’s our absolute pleasure, thanks very much 👍🏻

Not sure on Pops bag so will get back to you on that one 👍🏻
Oh yes, thanks.
You're welcome!
Dan, I was not notified again. Update, I was notified right after I posted the previous note. It was about 20 minutes after the video started.
I’m glad the notification came through, I did raise this with RUclips and they said they were looking into it. Thanks for the update 👍🏻
