The Ford Puma, a clever decision from Ford!
Demand has only grown for this quirky crossover, with it climbing the UK sales charts making it to the top this year, as the UK’s best selling car!!
Launched in late-2019, the Puma hit the market at the right time with the new shape Juke launched at a similar time as well as an all-new model from Volkswagen, the T-Cross.
Being based on the Fiesta, the Puma is great to drive and is still quite compact, something I also admired about the SEAT Arona which is a true small SUV.
I have to say the Puma is easily one of my favourite small SUVs, being fun to drive, easy to use and rather stylish. Also offers on the Puma as well as used bargains make it more affordable than many rivals.
Thanks to Pye Motors, Kendal Ford for making this review possible and supporting me with other videos in the past!
Very helpful and friendly, they have dealerships covering the South Lakes and Lancashire with Kendal, Morecambe and Barrow. They have been around since 1925, so are experts!

Quality review 👍, I've decided to trade in my 7 year old Fiesta early due to worries about the wet belt on the old ecoboost engines. The Puma ST Line looks like a nice step up from the Fiesta, and it has the newer Ecoboost engine for peace of mind.

Great review. Very in-depth and I like the superimposing of the different grill and wheels - never seen that done before. Props for going to a showroom and showing the Titanium in comparison.

@@Carcode Mate, that's a hatchback not an SUV or am I wrong? SUV is just a sticker and a sell gimmick, ain't it?

It annoys me that they won't give you the 1.5 ST engine if you want DCT. Great review.

Yes, personally I see the appeal of the manual for the performance variant, but I understand why you’d like the 1.5 DCT, however I’ve been a passenger in the 1.0 170PS ST DCT and I was really pleasantly impressed, it was pretty surprising! Thanks for watching 😄

Gosh how has that sold so many? Ford in general is way behind most brands atm especially the likes of Renault, Peugeot & Kia who are also cheaper but better. The gear stick & steering wheel is giving 2006 vibes and the infotainment is giving 2016
I would put this in the same class as a Fiat 500 AKA a hairdressers car

The EcoBoost engines have been much improved, the issues are with those before 2017 and on those cars there was a recall. As long as the car has been well maintained and any recalls have been sorted they are fine.

@@Carcodeyeah the new ecoboost engine is now chain driven (although the oil pump is still belt driven) which is now in all of the range of fords, it’s basically a new engine with the foot print of the old engine! the problem engines ended in 2017 ford upgraded the belt after 2017 to a more robust material but still had some issues but as long as you change the oil and use the exact specification oil you shouldn’t have any issues the turbo has been moved aswell it’s no longer at the front😊 the “ecoboom” criticism is probably unjustified now🤷‍♂️ but what people don’t realise is the likes of VW and other car manufacturers have changed to wet belt engines over the last year so if you don’t service these properly your Little VW polo is going to go the same way!
