As long as you treat us with the same respect as a human being. A few times I've experienced foreigners treating my co-workers like maids and butlers because of the preconception that we're hospitable to the point of being loyal servants. We're people, not some exotic creatures made to lick the boots of foreigners.
There is a reason why Filipinos love their Canadian adopted son Kulas! Instead of comparing things from a third-world country vs. the first world country, he showcases the cultures of the Philippines with positivity! Mabuhay ka Kulas
He did show the positive things about the Philippines. Like, how it's safer, more welcoming, and better quality of life. Comparison is better. Unlike Kulas who isn't a realist. He doesn't ever show anything negative or the reality of what happens in the world.
Obviously, rooms in the Philippines are so much cheaper than anything in most Western countries. What makes these places memorable, though, are the accommodating staff and the regular maintenance. This place is quite pricey for a local Filipino, but it delivers on quality, so you actually get your money's worth.

The construction is higher Quality to in Philippines. In Dubai and the rest of the Gulf Filipino designers are highly sort of for the major construction projects
In the Philippines, you can check in for a $45 price at a hotel that includes a large array of food choices for a breakfast buffet for two persons. And the service is world class!
I have been here in the Philippines for 3 months now and i would say it this has been a breath of fresh air...the people here are so nice and my fiance has taken me to some amazing places. Memories to last us a lifetime
I live about 40 miles north of Birmingham and commute to Hoover for work. Locally, we don’t go to the city itself. There are some suburbs that are much nicer and safer. I also have a fiancé in Luzon and was there earlier this summer and the comparison is for sure accurate. This is the example I share when folks that don’t know assume the Philippines is a dangerous place. There are dangerous places in every country.
It was bavk in the 70s and 80s especially in most southern islands. Pirates , islamic extremist. In 2002 valentines day just after a few months after 9/11 my city got attacked. But now its safe. Just glad that people kinda got their shit together and worked to fix the problems.
I love the Philippines and the people. I know you were doing a video matching a room price in USA vs Philippines. I have to say you can get beautiful rooms in Philippines for much less than what you paid. The Filipino people are lovely people who provide outstanding service no matter we’re you go there

You and my husband have same lit. I saw in his video, his aura in US was kinda dim before our vacation, then going in Philippines and staying in Zuri Hotel, Coron Palawan he was all lit and excited. He was delighted, glowing and so happy all 2 wks of our stay, and then he literally had a tear when we left the island. Us Filipinos are poor, but rich in love, abundant smiles and the hospitality is excellent, mostly most pinays are loyal, loving and very devoted mother and wife. God bless! What a stark contrast. That downtown neighborhood in AL is sketch AF! Glad you made the decision to get out of there. Gonna check out that Siargao resort online, looks so relaxing.
Dude,I have stayed in places like that in the USA!!! I prefer to stay anywhere in the Philippines and I feel safer, even the low budget places in the Phils are safer than here. You looked terrified in Birmingham!
I agree with you, I reside in Illinois for many years, here is Motel 6 it's nasty, the price is only $68 per person a night but far away from everything, in Chicago yes closer to everything but the price is also $40 more.
We’ve checked this place before but I forgot the name. I love their dogs. They watch you go with you while doing the paddle board. 11:01 Bruno is a jealous one.
I think the guy driving the red car thinks you are a narc. I'm from the Philippines and have stayed in the US during business trips. It is hard to find decent and safe accommodation for $100 a night. Usually, they are at the $300 to $400 range in my experience. I'm surprised you found a clean one for $100. But in the Philippines, even for $60, you can check-in to a 3-star hotel in a safe neighborhood. Accommodation is really affordable in most countries in Southeast Asia.

The mall has all the amenities for food/entertainment and transportation to the boulevard. Nothing like it in the US and I traveled all over the US for business for 25+ years. Do you want to know the unbiased truth about the Philippines? What your friend said is not entirely impossible. I mean, let's be real, this could happen anywhere around the world in this modern day. But the trick with the Philippines is knowing the places you ought to visit limiting your exploration and having some trustworthy locals tell you where to and where not to go. As long as you go to these right places, it may not be a first-world country experience, but the warmth of the people, and quality of life it gives you. It's the vacation dream of everyone who wishes to win the lottery. Except, you don't need to win the lottery.

The first room was ok for the price, but the area is tabu. Thus, the price is low, and they can not afford to maintain it. The main fault is that the local government administration is irresponsible. This video is not just interesting. It has a bit of intrigue while being informative. A nice comparison of Philippine country life and Alabama country life might be cool, especially for folks that have preconcieved views of both. Thanks again. You are still very creative.

The run down motels in manila arent as scary as the ones here in north america for sure. and most of them are under 20 dollars a night
As a Filipino imo our country is the best place for vacation. While the US is the best for saving a good amount of money. You can freely enjoy life here without fearing getting into a violent encounter, Once you've amassed a few hundred thousands of dollars you can probably retire here with the exchange rates heavily favouring US dollars
That WAS black mold, and I bet there were bed bugs. The other place was nice, but the outdoor bathroom was a no from me. I would be creeped out with the leaves touching me coming out of the shower...bugs, just, no. Carrot would be a big plus though!
Can’t speak for the Philippines but you can get an actual 5-star beach resort room in Thailand during high season for $60-$80 during high season, with a little searching. With a massive breakfast buffet included with both Thai and Western foods.
Thailand is much cheaper than the Philippines.. but in exchange 1. you won't have a hard time with language barrier 2. You won't have so many people around you 3. You will be able to actually relax and enjoy nature 4. Most of the time you'll have the place all to yourself.
If you go to popular resorts you can get the same price and quality. You just need to be adventurous and not rely on what tourism brochures recommend. Thailand is more popular but it doesn't mean they have better quality. "Cheaper" is relative. I would be willing to spend a little more for a higher quality vacation.
Next time if you feel like visiting again, you are welcome to our rental house, and you can enjoy the view of the Majestic Mayon Volcano for only P1,500 a day with air condition, bathub, hot & cold water & kitchen.

The least I ever paid for a room was in India, $.25 that’s right 25 cents was full of cockroaches but I’m pretty sure I couldn’t get a room anywhere in N.A. For $.25, it was 1973 though so $.25 was worth more.
Can get a decent hotel in most cities now for $200 a week to $200 a month. Still the cheapest country to live in Asia for those who can handle it.
100$ Hotel in US Lonely, no chatting, no neighbor, scary, unsafe in many things
100$ hotel in the Philippines, NOTHING but a BEAUTIFUL Smile of a young Lady + a very simple ambiance 😊😊😊 ahhhh......
$100 in a third world country is plush, no question.
what is with filipinos using the word Ambience all the time?
IN PHILIPPINES NOISE AND ROOSTER DAY AND NIGHTS . NO THANX
