- Join us for a live taping of Red Scare, a cultural commentary podcast hosted by bohemian layabouts Anna Khachiyan and Dasha Nekrasova.
Anna Khachiyan is a writer and podcaster in New York.
Dasha Nekrasova is a Belarusian-American actress. She grew up in Las Vegas where she emigrated as a child with her gymnast parents and later studied philosophy at Mills College. Her first feature, WOBBLE PALACE, which she starred in and co-wrote with director Eugene Kotlyarenko, premiered at SXSW 2018.
She can soon be seen in MR. ROBOT (USA) and DICKINSON (Apple). The Hollywood Reporter praised her recent performance in the feature, SOFTNESS OF BODIES, “Nekrasova inhabits the role effortlessly. Charlie is blasé, self-obsessed, hostile, childish and utterly magnetic.”
I've been struggling with my depression recently, and this video has convinced me to finally pull the trigger. Thanks!

Did you do it? 🤔

UNDERATED COMMENT
"Are you being sarcastic?"
"I don't even know anymore..."
Self parody that goes on and on
That statement is everything wrong with their podcast, in a nutshell.
And the Simpsons lives on
It’s Weird how being a fan of Red scare seems to involve hating Red scare
hell ya dude
Lol
This is fascinating. They’ve been talking for 20 minutes straight and said absolutely nothing. Is this ASMR?
very ASMRish. I love it
This is a prolonged foreplay session, actually. You can feel the sexual tension all over. They're ear-fucking each other.
In retrospect the all-women CT episode was infinitely funnier
No it's just women talking
@@ianmillerdevilsfan1223 fuck no
It’s hard for me to tell who’s talking if I’m not looking at the screen. They have the same exact voice.
Holy shit I was thinking about that
It's west coast entitled narcissist vocal fry speak.
Boopie Boop I know right!!!
im pretty sure they might be saying something worth hearing.... but cant get past that bullshit voice thing to hear any of it.... tuning out after only 4 minutes!!
@@zazeel1 To me, no, they probably wouldn't be talking like that if were saying something worth hearing. This is a form of Pavlovian communication. Say something 'in a way' to elicit a guided response. But it works... Did you hear Kylie Jenner is a 'self made' billionaire at 22 years old?
I think my favorite moment of this is right around 5:12. The vocal fry was just long enough to open my garage door and set off my car alarm. She’s a real doll.
Hahaha absolutely HEINOUS
That sounds exactly like a creaky door foley effect I heard in Insidious: The Last Key.
LMAO
My favorite was when it was over
We like her though

Genuinely insufferable. I know people like this. I worry I'm like this.

excruciating
didnt u get the memo, vocal fry makes u invincible
Praxiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis
WHATeverrrrrrrrrr.
Im so into things that are hosted by self-proclaimed "bohemian layabouts." its the first sign of quality
🤣🤣🤣
Red Scare is to Daria as Cumtown is to Beavis and Butthead
That’s a take, for sure. You’re right as fuck
Holy shit you cracked the code
Hellyhdude
@@phillipcooper8662 hell yeah
This is like a vocal fry competition.
They must be high, if they're able just... sit on a stage and talk about whatever with all these people sitting politely just waiting to laugh at something. Pretty awkward format.
honestly they probably were
Live podcasting was a horrific idea lol 😆
Not high, they are just women
@@utsurobune3530 Cumtown approves
I don't listen to much of the Red Scare podcast. I just go straight to the comments section.
the audience is just in their heads the whole time like "yes, this is funny. no it's definitely funny. i swear to god this is funny."
i dont listen to then cuz theyre funny
@Manifest Destiny i said it dont listen to them for humor lmao. they inspire me to lose weight, i like their banter, and dasha is rly hot. also its interesting to hear their political views cuz theyre different from mine. they also help me expand my vocabulary

13 minutes in I realized " this is the show." Holy shit

God I cannot put into words how much I love the Cheek Clappers Podcast. They're just so elegant and powerful. Listening to Cheek Clappers is like listening to the language of god.
When people ask me what “quirky” means, I send them this video
More like trying.
I dont think the word 'quirky' has a positive connotation in the 21st century
I don't listen to podcasts ever, but I got curious when I hear Elizabeth Olsen say Red Scare was her favourite podcast.
RUclips just recommended this to me and I don't know what this format is or those 2. But I'm intrigued.
5:12 Sums up the entire convo

Holy shit, I had heard about Red Scare here and there but I didn't know it was by Worms in the Brain Girl. That girl is my hero. I laughed all of 2019 because of her.
And now she hangs out with Alex Jones lol
@@youngsuit I'm now marginally aware of her podcast and I've heard she's said some disgusting shit. I don't mind ironic, funny tlk about covid or politics or whatever, but I draw the line on race realism. That's disgusting, degenerate rhetoric.
“I feel like Stephen Hawking with this vocal fry.”
content notwithstanding, I can't stop thinking about that old SNL sketch where they do a radio show talking about winter cookies and salty balls.
Cheek Clappers is one of those podcasts that really makes you stop and think
I can not buy myself a new level for this game but this game is so much more than a little time of the movie I have played

I want her to stand up. I'm convinced she's not wearing pants.
cool comment
I think you're right, she's just wearing the ISIS T-shirt. If only they'd showed a few more seconds of her walking.
I wish I could listen to this, but it’s too corruptive and degenerate. Must keep a pure soul, mind, heart, despite the captivating allure of these spinsters’ vocal tones

I'm a leftist, and discovered these two from various mentions on Chapo and Cumtown. As much as I wanted to like them, I have to say their brand of irony poisoned, psuedo- reactionary self-satisfaction was a bit too nihilistic for me to bear.
"irony poisoned, psuedo-reactionary, self-satisfactory nihilism" is a great way to describe their podcast. I think it only works for me because it is in a mix with more positive, idealist, and optimistic podcasts.
@@ChuckBeans61 I suppose I see where you're coming from, but it just doesn't work for me. I have no problem with deriding liberals, but doing so to such a degree that suddenly you're treating Alex Jones like a misunderstood genius and mocking the left for being concerned about Roe V Wade is a bridge too far. There's irony, and then there's utilizing irony to mask an ideological vacuity, or worse, openly reactionary views.
@@ahlishaholloway233 I just find it a breath of fresh air to all of the over reactionary, dramatic, and pious takes I hear from leftists who abandon reality for moral superiority. And I think abortion is important, and I think Alex Jones is a moron, but to act like abortion is fully awesome and that Alex Jones is the most influential voice on the planet does way more danger to the progress and benefit of society than it helps. And I would still say that this as a single voice would be dangerous to listen to or blindly follow as well, but has merit as a piece in a tapestry of voices one can consume in any given year.
@@ChuckBeans61 ha of course you’re a dude.

Agreed, I had to stop watching this about 10 minutes in because these boring thots were making me want to blow my brains out.

Overgeneralization seems to be a huge problem on the right. A lot of the right wing comments I see online start out with "the people *I know* do this" and end up at "and that's why this *ENTIRE* group of people are bad." It makes it difficult to reason with you when everyone else from every other group is somehow the ambassador for that whole group but that same logic doesn't apply to groups you belong to. The word I'm looking for is Tribalism.
@@godbear2930 hey god bear, not sure if we're speaking past each other. Fwiw I haven't really stayed w Red Scare in recent months, got bored for what ever reason. (Maybe cuz I can't actually date them which was part of my initial fantasy?) But at the time what I was responding to was how refreshing this non-policed discourse is, as a tonic for the PC, cult-like behavior on the left, which is where my politics align. I think you're right that tribalism is a contemporary problem and that one should engage the left, right, etc based on reason not merely position out of hand.
Lived in Brooklyn back in the mid 90's - Little has changed, perhaps the style and that's a good thing.
There was a perceptible moment back then when one gen was drifting on and the new faces had already arrived - It was time to move over and move on.
They seem more politicized now, more organized and mobilized... but barring a vindicating climatic catastrophe or economic collapse,it will be newer forms of authoritarianism that will produce even more bad redundant poetry and droll criticism.
