"Imagine being a fat activist and just not losing weight" I laughed so hard

Substantially all fat activists are women, and they attract fat fetishists - once they can deal with that fact, they don't feel the need to change themselves and indeed believe that by moral pressure they can make everyone treat them the way that their fetishists treat them.

Their podcasts sound like an ASMR of knowledgeable vocal fry up-speak.

They actually don't know why Israel is so powerful?
I can't believe she made that statement.

Anna calls her "Mar-coat" and I know it's some kind of insult even though I don't understand it.

Dasha laughs like Chloe Sevigny I can’t explain it I don’t even know if that’s how Chloe Sevigny laughs but anyway Dasha would gratefully take the compliment

These two are really smart. At least as it relates to normal, dumb, conversation and how to handle it and maintain personal status. The anti-Isreal one was terrified to say her real thoughts.

Whatever sounds more marketable and not offensive is what ppl want to BUY. thats the whole thing. Ofc if im buying clothing online i dont want them to label me FAT. They come in sizes, small, medium, large, xl, plus size + why would u not want to include everyone or every “ market” in this neoliberal world.

The problem with Bruenig's piece is that we already had the social technology to incentivize childbearing (marriage), and it was dismantled by the generation that broke everything. The goal should be creating healthy, functioning families which produce children. Because everyone in power has lost the ability to make reasonable distinctions between good things and bad things, subsidizing child-bearing qua childbearing would not create healthy families but would likely yield more atomized children born into dysfunctional situations.
