    Hello how are you? I have a question about something. My teacher gave me homework. She wants me to add a question to this answer ( i have got a car) so the question will be ( have you got a car) but i think for this question the answer should start with yes or no. Am i right? Or do i have to write this one ( what have you got ?) thanks in advance

    • @EasyEnglishatHome
      @EasyEnglishatHome  4 года назад

      Dear Ayti, the right question depends on the answer. If the answer starts with a "yes or no", Have u got a car? sounds like the right choice.

      this is so wrong I can't even begin to explain. WHY would anyone use American backwater speech as standard? NO ONE beyond kindergarten speaks this way. There is no 'correct' way to use have got/ has got it's slang NOT CORRECT SPEECH

    I see, so British use "I have got" while American use "I have". No wonder why i was confused. English sure is really complicated. For me.

    • @rosebrown7002
      @rosebrown7002 3 года назад

      No that's not right. this is so wrong I can't even begin to explain. There is no 'correct' way to use have got/ has got it's slang NOT CORRECT SPEECH. It's ALWAYS 'I have' 'You have' 'He/She/It has' 'We have'

    • @justdont8519
      @justdont8519 3 года назад

      @@rosebrown7002 Thanks for your help i realy appreciate it. I actually prefer "I have" or "He has" without Got. Its short and make sense to me. It's just that when i was reading a novel and manga to improve my english vocabulary. I came across to many sentences with HAVE GOT and HAS GOT which i never heard nor learned before even at school. That is why i was so confused. British sure love there Got. Isn't?

    • @rosebrown7002
