Excuse me, shouldn´t James´ book be pronounced as [James - es book]; that´s how it was pronounced by my teacher. Thank you for clarifying

Yes, you are correct. The video is wrong.

Actually with names ending in S like James, you can write James' pronounced as James and James's pronounced as Jamesiz.

Sadly, the pronunciation on this video is incorrect. DO NOT REPEAT THIS OR USE IT AS AN EXAMPLE WITH YOUR STUDENTS. The proper pronunciation for the plurals for names where you see the apostrophe at the end of an "s" (s') is pronounced wrong in the video. You must add a "z" sound to the end to indicate that you are using a possessive. Otherwise, the listener will think you are making an error, or be confused if you are using a possessive. The s' - ending is pronounced like /z/ after voiced sounds only when we're talking about plural names. This means the ending of the noun (the name) is voiced, and you add another /z/ sound - if you can feel your larynx vibrate at the end of the noun, it has the /z/ sound. James' is pronounced, "James-z" say the full name, and then add a /z/ sound at the end.

You’d better look up the pronunciation of ‘possessive”
