Hey Matt, that truck looks brand new. Beautiful. I suspect that you are the reincarnation of a Ford Truck manufacturing plant assembly line worker. You were probably employee of the month more than once. Just kidding. I always enjoy your show.
You have done an excellent job on this truck Matt!, you have a real nitch for redoing these high boys!, I hope I get the chance this year to do a little body work and paint on mine!. The rear bumper looks good!. Great job!.
Wow Matt! Perfect. This beauty is going to bring all the money. I'm not sure how you can part with this particular pickup. I was very surprised that you put hay in it, you must have had protection, but it is an awesome picture. I feed hay everyday and I know what it does on new paint, even being extremely careful...gutsy move!
@@MattKubik1791 Oh I understood you didn't feed out of it and that it was just a photo-op, but dang, with all the paint issues you had to deal with on it....that's the last thing I would have done!!!!😳 Even gently setting them in place and gently removing them.
just to let you know I have been to the Ford dealership in Chester, Mt. I talked to the individual that owned it, I should say owned the building since the dealership was closed for quite some time. His brother just happened to be the Sheriff of Liberty County which Chester is the County seat. The town is very small I don't even think there is a gas station there now.
I love seeing these older trucks restored like this. It's nice to see a stick shift truck too. I think standard transmissions are fun to drive once you get the shifting down pat. I learned how to drive on a 1972 F-250 similar to that one except it had the old-fashioned armstrong power steering, 🤣.
Matt nice truck I’ve been watching great work these trucks are none existent on east coast been in Denver looking for one they are not out there anyway great job keep up the good work.
I wish they still built trucks like this. I love theses bump sides. I would like one for a daily driver one day. What is your favorite engine for overall use, mileage and power.
Nice rebuilt, but dealer names on the bumper is a west Texas to South East thing, not the upper Midwest. Never seen that up here, from rural MN to the Rockies in MT; either dealer tags or decals on the tail gate or sides of the cowl. Kansas and southern Missouri is the furthest north I've seen dealer names on bumpers. Nothing that can't be fixed with a rattle can of Colonial White for the most OCD on BaT if someone "needs" to fix it. 360 with the No Progress 4-speed (nice sounding gear change, too) will work just fine. Best of luck across the electronic auction block.
Thank you! As I said in the video I’m not sure if that dealer did it but I couldn’t find a dealer badge for that dealer so I added it to have some connection to the dealer on the truck.
Wow!! Been following this build and always loved the truck, but I have to say this rig is even nicer than I thought. I love how basic the truck is inside and out. it looks and sounds like it runs really smooth. Great job man! Do these trucks tend to seep/leak engine oil or do they remain pretty tight after a restoration?
Oil leaks are always a struggle on old engines. I used an aviation sealant on the gaskets when assembling them to aid in the seal. It seems to work well. There were a couple seeps after start up on this one but just had to tighten some bolts and seemed to take care of it. No drips as of now. 🤞🏻
@@MattKubik1791 if I decide to try to go after this truck on BaT, would it be possible for me to come and look at the truck at some point? I am in Missouri so not too far from you.
The original cab was very rusty and would require a ton of work to bring back to this condition and I had this very clean harbor blue 2wd truck with no plans moving forward. The bed than came on the highboy was not original and was actually the wrong year bed as well as being very rusty and not useable. I actually bought the highboy truck with the swap already in mind. The extra time and money it would take to bring that cab to this level just wasn’t worth it to me. Others will have difference opinions but this is just the way I wanted to build the truck!
Beautiful Matt, love the shot with the hay bales!!
It’s my personal favorite as well.
Truck turned out Super Nice Matt. Great to see how you are so meticulous with your work! Keep it Up! enjoy your Love for Bumpsides.
Absolutely gorgeous!! Done up perfect Matt!! You’re doing these trucks proud!
You definitely can build one hell of a truck Matt!!!
Thanks!
You went above and beyond in spite of a little paint in the interior…
Just gorgeous 👍
Thanks!
I am more of a extended cab and crew cab guy but I have to say it looks and drives so good. I cant wait to get my first one. Thanks for sharing.

Seriously does it get any better than that, nice job buddy!!!
Thanks man!
Beautiful truck man. It turned out amazing. Love that you added the Chester Motors on the rear bumper. Definitely adds to the originality.😎🤘🍻

390 would be my first choice for a factory installed engine anyway.

Dam nice.. thanks for makin
My only suggestion…
Factory tires from Coker
Wow that's a build. Giving me a little motivation to get after mine. What size tires are you running?
255/85r16
Doesn’t get much better than that.
Very nice
390 ?
This is a beauty Matt..I love the wheel and tire combo... Can I ask where you sourced the rims and tires and what size are the tires.
They are dorman wheels for a OBS ford truck. 16x7. The tires are BFG KM3 255/85r16
@@MattKubik1791 thanks Matt! Looking for new old school wheels and tires for my 73 F100
Better than when they came out of the factory new. . . . .
Where did you get the electric power steering at if you don’t mind sharing
Steerman cycle
Very beautiful truck . Thanks for sharing . Are you in Montana or Oklahoma ?
Oklahoma. The truck being sold new in Montana is the reason for the Montana get up.
@@MattKubik1791
Gotcha ,, I’ve spent a few months in Montana,, and wherever you are in Oklahoma,, wow ,, it could pass for some areas of Montana.
Buckin Billy Ray Smith sent me here
Thanks!
Not to be negative. But why would you do so much work to a nan matching numbers pickup. Just doesn't make sense.
You have no idea how much these trucks are worth, non-matching or not, do you?

I understand now why you changed out bodies. Thanks for explaining to me.
