I didn't know Fred was such a free spirit. He was great on an old Cheers episode called "Old Flames" in Season 2. The guy has real talent. His fifth cousin is a friend of mine.
Fred Dryer was nearly cast in the role of Sam Malone on the sitcom, Cheers. The part went to Ted Danson, but Dryer appeared several times on the series as sportscaster Dave Richards.
You have one cool Grandpa! Next time you see him ask him if he remembers some Ram fan throwing him a helmet to sign at Canton Ohio when Jack Youngblood was inducted! I yelled out...Hey Dryer! ( He was in the roped off section at the Hall of Fame) Will you sign my helmet...he replied...man thst really don't like us to do that! I held the helmet up and said.... Jack signed it this morning...he smiled and said " toss that thing over here! " So I tossed it to him and he signed the Left horn! Tell him thanks for me! Dryer was cool, and a damn good DE.
I once interviewed Dryer. Asked of his pal Hugh Hefner he just smiled and replied, "He can throw a party, pal."
Great player 🤙
Dryer would have fit perfectly with the Raiders

LINDO
Kinda reminds me of Howie Long.

He went to my high school
How is Fred still not in the Hall of Fame?
Jon .Molina 2 pro bowls.
Randy Gradishar was an 8 time pro bowl selection and STILL no in the HOF.
Kinda sucks but the 70s Rams were the "almost made it" team. All they needed was 1 ring.
Fred Dryer is my first cousin twice removed......
How are you related to him?! He’s my Mom’s first cousin. Fred’s Mom was my grandpa’s older sister.
2:08 bird style...
Sweet! Hes my 2nd cousin.
Works for me.
Is this for real? Or is it the most incredible fake documentary ever?

Always liked him Wish i could of met him.
