    Unlike a lot of people, I saw it coming. I watched a LOT of Rams training camp and I started hearing it early and often that he was coming along nicely. I made posts calling him the next big thing and I RARELY do that but I saw it in Puka. It was the stuff Stafford was saying early that let me know, though. Once Stafford builds that trust with a WR, that dude is gonna go off.
    This year will be AS good as last year for Puka. He and Kupp worked all off season and the word is Puka looks leaner, faster and quicker...so, I pretty much KNOW what that means.
    Some are sleeping on the Rams this year, many people are calling them a 10 win team with a sneak into the post season, I see it different, I think this team is going to be scary good, jumping out early and often of prime opponents.

    One thing that this video absolutely misses is the fact that puka was constantly hurt in college. This to me is what put him so late in the draft because he really was always a game time decision at BYU.

    • @JustAnFootballGuy
      @JustAnFootballGuy  3 месяца назад

      He might have been injured throughout college. But he still played. He still should have been a higher draft pick

    The college game speed data was mentioned by Les Snead in the behind the scenes video of drafting Puka.
    The Rams prioritise what they call their North Star, which is character, over some measurables. You look at the last few drafts & it's hard to disagree.

    Well they didn’t really miss him, he got drafted. He also ran a slow 40 (for a WR), as you stated. He also went from a P5 school to a non P5 school, so everyone will assume he couldn’t compete at UW.
    There’s good reason for him to slide, hindsight is 20/20. Brady slid, Purdy slid, it happens.

    • @JustAnFootballGuy
      @JustAnFootballGuy  5 месяцев назад

      I think with his talent, he should have been a 2nd/3rd rounder. It is easy to say that hindsight though.

    They did the same thing to Lil Jordan Humphrey and I've never seen him drop a ball thrown to him in the nfl even if he was double teamed but irrelevant shyt like his 40 time at a combine dropped his stock and kept getting him over look instead of what the kid did once he got in the game but that's the NFL. A lot of great players get overlooked regularly

    Combine stats aren’t everything they run in underwear not pads

    • @JustAnFootballGuy
      @JustAnFootballGuy  5 месяцев назад

      So true… it drives me nuts that the combine is held in such high regards. Not to say it’s useless but the results from players are not the thing to make or break a player.

    • @paulthird3942
      @paulthird3942 5 месяцев назад

      The 40 shouldn't still impact draft stock since they can now track how fast a player is in pads during the college games now. But it does Xavier Worthy doesn't have elite speed in pads according to the game data but at 165lbs his 40 hype got him into the first round.
