- Tune in to see details of a frozen Lightning Ridge Black Opal, left for two weeks before thawing out. The results are surprising, showing evidence of the toughness of the often misunderstood Australian opal. #blackopal #blackopal #opal #lightningridgeopal #australianopal #opalcutting

That was a terrifying story. Glad it all worked out for you.
Love the videos, man. Keep em coming.
What a story !
I am afraid I’d have been just as worried as you were if not more, if I’d have left a gem as gorgeous as that in the freezer as well.
Hey bud, you really REALLY should take better care of yourself. And I say that not to be judgmental, but simply because I care. You really can work your self to death. I do see how much you care about your profession, you should care about yourself equally.
Thank you for the content though, the opals you showcase are simply THE BEST anyone has ever had the opportunity to lay eyes on, even in video.
(I hope to someday be able to own even a small one myself)
I appreciate the kind words. Rest and recovery is definitely important 👍 and something I try to incorporate when possible. Cheers
What a fabulous stone. Fascinating story - never heard this before, you learn something new every day. I feel for how you felt for 2 weeks.
I definitely dont make opal rings, but i work with ethiopian opal pretty much exclusively, because i am poor. But ive seen some amazing Australian opal rings and im glad to see you put this myth to the test. Great idea for a video dude, really appreciate you taking the risk.
thanks for the dopstick freezer tip! 🙏 always something to learn! great video
Any time!
extremely underated channel brother. Keep the good content coming. I work with Ethiopian opal myself. (cant get Austrailian Opal easily here in New Jersey for some reason)
It’s a long way away haha
Thankyou for the kind words

Imagining the absolute stress and lost sleep thinking about that stone in the freezer is making me stressed lol. Beautiful stone and glad mother natures eye candy was safe.
Wow what a beautiful opal. I'm happy it's my birthstone. Keep up the great work but don't kill yourself working! ❤
I cut opal in 1968. Switched to Black Coral after I discovered it growing in the Cayman Islands. Still love opal.
a beautiful stone, certainly. I am glad it survived its trial of fire and ice.
I met you in Denver last september. I wish I had been a little more outgoing and talked to you more. oh well, maybe next time.
No worries at all 👍
Amazing video. Amazing stone!!! So glad it survived the freezing temps.

Australian OPALS ARE NUMBER ONE IN THE WORLD. BENEATH ALL AUSTRAILIAN OPALS are Mexican Fire Opals, Fire Opal in Oregon and then maybe Spencer Opals in the USA, then ___. From my research Ethiopian Opals are very unstable.
Yes they are! 🐨
Maybe you should take a look at indonesian black opal ❤
What about Brazilian opal?
What is your name by the way ? 6:50
