    JMike is one of my favorite atheist show hosts, but it would better serve his communication with callers if he "spoke to his audience" a bit more. Because of his intelligence and knowledge, there are times where they don't track what he's saying.
    Sean - TX is a great example. There were a series of questions starting around the 38 or so minute mark where he didn't grasp what JMike was asking, but instead of rephrasing he asked them in the exact same way. The questions weren't that high-brow really, but the call would've gone smoother if JMike had met the caller where's he at.

      Completely agree. He's so sharp with his logical perspectives, but he gets too bogged down by his terminology. He's a great thinker, but not so great a teacher. He'd be so much more effective if he could communicate the same ideas in terms that the everyman who doesn't deal with philosophy every day can understand.

    The Trinity breaks the basic principles of equality and logic.
    The basic logic of the trinity
    All A's = C, B's= C, therefore A = B
    But A says he is C, but not B
    And B says he C, but is not A
    A=the Father
    B=the Son
    C= God
    When examining the statement "A = C but not B, B = C but not A" purely from a logical perspective, without any theological or Christian context, we encounter an apparent logical contradiction.
    Here’s why:
    1. **Equality in Logic:**
    - If we say "A = C," we are asserting that A and C are the same or equivalent in some way.
    - Similarly, "B = C" asserts that B and C are the same or equivalent.
    - In classical logic, if A equals C and B equals C, then A must equal B (transitive property of equality).
    2. **The Contradiction:**
    - The statement "A = C but not B" implies that A and C are equivalent, but A is not equivalent to B.
    - The statement "B = C but not A" similarly implies that B and C are equivalent, but B is not equivalent to A.
    - These statements are contradictory because, under the transitive property of equality, if A = C and B = C, then it must follow that A = B.
    ### Pure Logical Analysis:
    - **Transitive Property:** In classical logic, if A = C and B = C, then A must equal B. Denying this would break the basic principles of equality and logic.
    - **Contradiction:** Saying "A = C but not B" and "B = C but not A" simultaneously introduces a contradiction, as it suggests that A and B are both equal to C but somehow not equal to each other, which defies the transitive property.
    ### Possible Logical Interpretations:
    To make logical sense of the statements, you might need to reinterpret the symbols or introduce additional qualifications:
    1. **Different Contexts or Perspectives:**
    - If "A = C" in one context or under certain conditions and "B = C" in another, but A and B do not overlap in those contexts, you might avoid a direct contradiction. However, this approach introduces ambiguity rather than clarity.
    2. **Different Types of Equality:**
    - You could argue that "A = C" and "B = C" represent different kinds of equivalence (e.g., A and C share one characteristic, while B and C share another). But in pure logical terms, the symbol "=" usually denotes the same type of equality or equivalence, so this would require altering the meaning of the equals sign.
    ### Conclusion:
    Without reinterpreting the statements, **there is no straightforward logical way** to claim that "A = C but not B" and "B = C but not A" without running into a contradiction. The transitive property of equality demands that if A equals C and B equals C, then A must equal B. Therefore, in pure logical terms, the statements are contradictory and cannot be true simultaneously.
    Therefore God cannot be both the Father & the Son.
    Christianity says the father is God, the Son is God, but at the same time God is not the Father & Son.
    We are trillions of cells, but one being & person.
    We cannot say each cell together are one being but separate persons. If they are separate persons then they are separate beings.
    So the biggest contradiction in the bible is God.

    On the whole 'tree of the knowledge of and good and evil' thing, I gotta say it annoys me that whenever that story is brought up, it's always that 'yaweh didn't need to put the tree next to Adam and Eve' . Should that instead be 'yaweh shouldn't even need to have such a tree at all"??.
    Presumably, he already knows the difference, so the tree isn't for him, and he never intended for Adam and Eve to know the difference, so why create the bleeping tree in the first place??
    Or perhaps yaweh does need the tree after all because it seems that if anyone needs to know the difference between good and evil, it's yaweh himself. In the OT, he is almost always embodying evil, but very seldom embodies good

But then Christians say he is in charge of Hell to punish the sinners God sends there. My question is: why would the guy who doesn't want to serve God work for God for eternity doing His dirty work? Wouldn't it be a funny FU for Satan to welcome his fellow rebels and free thinkers with their favorite snacks and beverage and show them all a good time? Satan wins the day with bringing logic and knowledge to humanity. Being the very light of reason. Threats, torture, pain, killing, and might equals right is God's gig.

    Why do people insist the life must have some objective purpose?
    Why can't the purpose of life not just be to live?

      Exactly! Theists feel the universe owes them an explanation, it certainly doesn't. The thought of ceasing to exist is too much for them. They have predetermined there has to be an afterlife or they can't enjoy this life. It must be a comfort thing. I remember a Christian saying 'there has to be an afterlife, this can't be it'. That sounds to me like someone who is taking their life for granted, the life they know they get. One saying I'll never forget was when I heard for the first time 'life is not a rehearsal, this is it!!' it's so sad that theists see an afterlife as what its all about. Talk about taking life for granted!

      Its a pretty understandable misconception. The human brain is hardwired to see patterns, and for our survival, large events have mostly been from large issues.(social and natural).
      So when they connect "life" being all these systems, they assume that it must be from something equally as big.
      Its one of the early documented things that the bible shows how its fictional, the reason why "old" gods used to be angry and make mistakes was to excuse this, and ambrhamic lore dropped that and excused humans are the problem.

    I have a theory that all the "Made by Jesus" labels on everything in the universe were put there by a Shinto wood spirit whose StickerMe order was misprinted and she said "screw it, I'll take the labels if you give me a discount on the order". She is who we should be worshipping, in spite of the mixup.

      Where in the bible does it say you can't put pineapple on pizza?, I know you not allowed to cook a baby goat in its mothers milk, that's so important its even the 10th commandment.[seconds & permanent set]
      , cant eat Bats because they are unclean birds...but nothing about pineapple on pizza...
      Just NO rabbit & pineapple on pizza, rabbits are unclean because they chew the cud. And Ham & pineapple obviously a no no, because pigs have the wrong feet,but I think that is juat because God wanted all the bacon for himself.
      There is something divine about bacon & cheese.

    Billy, dark matter and dark energy ARE both detectable. We detect their effects on galaxies/stars. With dark matter, we see how it holds each galaxy together and with dark energy, we see how it’s accelerating galaxies away from each other. But that’s ALL we can detect from it. We’re in the “dark” about everything else with them.

    Billy: do you disbelieve because Bible god is shitty?
    Us: No. We disbelieve because it's not believable.
    We grieve (and point and laugh) that people believe in something so unbelievable. And consider such a shitty thing to be Perfect.
    Do we disbelieve cuz Problem of Evil? Nope. Problem of Evil is only a problem for believers.
