I like to give credit, where credit is due! I have watched several videos over the last few days on how to make these green beans, as I intend to make them tonight as a part of my family's Thanksgiving meal. What I have found in watching you video, is that you are a very good teacher, and you explain things in a thoughtful and through way. At the end of the day it is not that difficult of a recipe, but even things that are simple, when new can create challenges for others trying for the first time, and you video is the one that has help me feel confident enough to try it, because of how detailed it was. so THANK YOU!!!
That spicy pork shrimp wontons, the cucumber, and the cabbage are my three go to-s, but everything's so tasty. The key is to have one wonton left so you can take home all of the leftover sauce. Thank you for this. This looks amazing!
I love their sautéed cabbage dish. It’s amazing. I’ve determined they add a little mushroom powder (bouillon) in the dish to boost the umami. I’m told no MSG, but it wouldn’t surprise if they added a dash of it. Delicious
It is one of my favorites! The green beans and baby back barbecue ribs are my must haves and then just about every dumpling I can eat. THANK YOU! I cannot wait to make this🎉
Yum! I love the cucumber salad as well as the green beans. Also, the chicken and rice cakes. Actually, we like everything on the menu. Nice presentation.
Agreed. Our first experience at DTF was in Seattle where my son lives. They just opened one in NYC. My husband and I stumbled upon the original DTF in Taiwan, and it was wonderful. Thank you for responding. Sandra
@ very delicious, I love this menu so much. I’m Thai and use long beans like this in many Thai dish but never try this recipe before ..it’s turn out very good. I love how easy it is but taste good love the texture and smell of garlic so much. Thank you for sharing this and thank you RUclips algorithm that suggest your video 😆✌🏼
agreed about the beans, they're killer and really pricey... i've made 'kinda' similar copycat beans, i added a bit of broth at the end followed by a cornstarch slurry to thicken the small amount of liquid and make it stick to the beans... (theirs seemed 'saucy' to me, but i may be misremembering) your technique of deep frying the beans however didn't occur to me and i'll try that! thanks!
This looks yummy but I think you're missing an ingredient. They use some of sort of a sour/sweet turnip. Maybe you can try to add that next time too. thanks
You ran out of content. Four minutes of you cleaning up is... just kind of boring. How about a walking tour of the downtown area where DTF is? Or shots of the mall, etc.? Or footage from inside the restaurant? It's a lovely place. Way over priced, yes. Great food. A good experience once a year, because the food is that good. Can't see eating there on the regular. Just costs too much, as you noted. Boring ending, but great recipe.
Thanks for the feedback - there's a couple of reasons why I show the dishwashing at the end, but get that it's not for everyone. I have short form content posted as well for the no fuss and straight to the point recipe videos too!
Sadly, all too many people forget that this a major part of the cooking process…clean up! As a perpetual kitchen “cleaner upper”, it’s sort of pleasant to just watch the efforts for a change. Though I’d use a wash pan to conserve water, rinse things in batches, and air dry. But I’ll be making these beans today!

Genius recipe!!
What do you do with the leftover oil? Do you ever strain and re-use it?
I had to google Din Tai Fung - looks so good and lots of vegan options!😋

Did not realise there was a need for frying the beans in lots of oil before! What do you do with all the left-over oil?
@@MTMF.london I filter out any leftover bits and use it fry anything else I’m making

Certainly. String beans looks delicious.
My favorito too
Am I the only one who kept watching the whole cleanup sequence just to admire those arms? 😅
😂😅
Nope 😂
for a healthier version just boil the beans al dente and then stirfry with garlic.
How do you cook garlic in your stainless steel pan without immediately burning it?
@@LADYxINN0CENT Heat the pan on medium and move quickly!
Do you have to do the whole thing where the pan needs to heat up & water turns into mercury balls before you add oil & start sauteeing?
@ for sure! definitely a necessary step otherwise the garlic will stick - just make sure you’re not over heating the pan
Restaurant standard has dropped !
This would also be good if you add about a tablespoon of Sambal Olek while cooking it.
This looks yummy but I think you're missing an ingredient. They use some of sort of a sour/sweet turnip. Maybe you can try to add that next time too. thanks
👍👍😋
❤🤤
I never use msg. Just garlic & bit of oyster sauce.
Oyster sauce has MSG.
@@feedthepudge Lee Kum Kee premium oyster sauce has no MSG. I use it as I am allergic to MSG.
@ You should double check that label, cause that’s also the oyster sauce I use lol
Cool but $15? No way. Homemade for a fraction of the cost. 👍
This is supposed to be a cheap dish, now they're charging $15 a plate, they're high.
You didn’t need to make this video that long by showing us the washing of the stuff :))
It would be good if you could list out the measurements of the ingredients below all your videos instead of us having to click at a link.

That’s a lot of oil to waste afterwards.
You lost me on msg... I'll definitely use the recipe though, minus the enhancer... thanks
unnecessary to fry those green beans in a pot of oil. Otherwise, a healthy dish became a really unhealthy dish with all that oil being used.
Totally necessary, deep fried makes them blister and crisp not soggy and soft.
DTF is so overrated...
U just ruined the dish with MSG
No MSG BAD BAD BAD
