I’d love to voice act Paul in an animatic like this. I can do a really scared/desperate/basically any emotion voice, but can’t match a facial expression to it.

This entire time I'm just sitting in a corner of my room going "Paul looks and acts like an adult version of Jermey from Be More Chill. With his fear of the brainwashed people/musicals it would be plausible because of the whole deal with the SQUIP. Also the poison coffee looks like what killed Heather Chandler." Also why is everyone in this animated cute?
@@justoneghost :) because I'm like that sometimes
You'll have to watch the musical to see what the poison goo really is🤔😉
I mean HC was killed by laundry detergent so idk man
Also, why did you make me think about this
Maybe they're related?
New headcannon: Paul is Jeremy’s son
I don't know why but the little counter slap paul does at the beginning made me laugh so hard 10/10
“HELLO? HELLOOO? PLEASE GOD I JUST WANT A BLACK COFFEE!” 😂
Love that Paul seemed to be in a good mood before he quickly became distressed once he slapped the counter. It even happened in the live action show.
this is what introduced me to starkid. I was like "oh cool great animatic I should check out the musical". at first I thought it was like a bootleg, and then I watched it and was like
"bruh it's professionally recorded, has great actors, great music, great plot, really funny, and it's on youtube for free????????"
and then I noticed ALL THE OTHER MUSICALS AND I HAVE BEEN OBSESSED SINCE SO THANK YOU FOR GETTING ME INTO STARKID

You must have thought of the implications
This show is the only piece of comedy-horror I’ve ever seen where I feel like if they wanted to they could’ve made it just straight up really good horror
@@joeyfromschool I admit that it's kinda scary I get absolutely terrified from let it out until the end but what scares me even more is nightmare time and that's on zoom imagine the absolute nightmare (pun not intended but I'm leaving it because puns) that would be if they did an actual performance thingy with a stage I swear to God the hatchetfield universe is getting increasingly scarier
My brain:
Girls: “Hey Mr. Business, how do you do?~”
My brain: HHHHHAKAGQKWBSBAK💝
Im sry but you are a bottom now...rip
But no one talks about the "dEcAf" part
When Emma and Paul are talking about the implications, you can hear "Let it out" play, particularly the part "I've never been happy, wouldn't that be nice?"
Anyway! You've gained a new sub!
What?
huh???? where????? wtf???
what where
Oh shit u right.
It starts at like, 1:05
It’s such a small thing, but I love the sinister look on their face at 4:15 when they say “moment”. Honestly, all of these character designs and facial expressions are amazing.
Edit: Just noticed Emma’s face at “Bregadune”! Again, I love these facial expressions!
An even smaller thing is that their eyes turn blue for that split second, just like the coffee or the jelly thing they poison the coffee with
Just amazing
*brigadoon
I actually like how you drew Paul's hair
Same
Damn cute
I love how Emma’s hair was drawn!
ok so. i just realized.. and this might’ve been obvious but..
what if her boss was infected,
and that’s why they made the rule about singing all the time.
also maybe the boss infected the other coworkers?
i didn’t think about the implications.
Nora is her boss is you watch let it out Nora steps out and Paul's like "Emma's boss" so yea
Yes, that is the implication you are supposed to grasp. It’s alright though.
3:56 I highly relate to how much the style changed here lmao
2:12
Oh I loved it when Paul blushed! 😊
1:56
@Alexander Valdez Welcome!
(I'm not a sir, but I'll take it as a compliment! No hate tho.)
SO FUCKING CUTE
So I can’t stop thinking about the “I was in Brigadoon in high school” part. I looked it up just for fun cuz I’d never heard of it (what a random reference). It’s actually about a Vanishing Village that disappears for every day but like a week. What if that’s what happening with Hatchetfield? What if the citizens are put in a loop/slumber until the next apocalypse? I know Brigadoon is only mentioned in like two whole lines in the musical but it’s good for thought.
How does it feel to be right?
Did some new piece of Starkid media come out while I was unaware?
"Hey, Mr. Business..."
And that, kids, is how I met your mother.
I'm so happy somebody did an animatic for TGWDLM! I love your art style too!
Emma has just, like, a "kill me" expression the entire song.
Me before watching this musical: Time for another lighthearted and hilarious Starkid musical!
Me after watching the musical, muttering quietly to myself repeatedly: *I didn’t think about the implications I didn’t think about the implications I didn’t think about the implications*
It was still hilarious though.
Paul blushing when Emma starts singing is a tiny detail that will consume my thoughts for a solid 7 weeks. Good animatic!
Omg FINALLY a Starkid animatic!
IKR ALSO I LOVE YOUR PROFILE PIC
@@rat3905 lol thanks :P
Ever watched the Sanders Sides animatic of “Twisted”?
@@ariaphoenix2760 No it sounds AMAZING I love Sanders Sides!
TurtleFace It’s only the one song, but it’s still gorgeous!
I really like that little detail of having the 2 customers behind Paul start dancing with their shoulders. This as a whole was awesome! I also really like your art style!
I love how when Paul throws away his coffee you can actually see the blue shit in it and on the mug
Technically all the songs in the musical are villain songs because they're all sung by evil inconsistent aliens or that one crazy scientist guy who wants to help the evil inconsistent aliens.
But poison cup of coffee is the most villain-song like
Let It Out is just sitting in the corner being forgotten about
I always found it adorable how through the entire musical the part where Emma came through the door singing was when Paul was the most scared
4:22
GET YOUR CUP OF POISONED COFFEE
I was showing this to my best friend and told her
" dont get bored the endings the best "
And when the twist came she was like
" I W A S N O T E X P E XT I N G T H A T "
She didn’t think about the implications.
I'll never get over Paul's delivery of "Are you frightened?!", and in this style, it makes it so much better xD
This animation is what had me watch The Guy Who Doesn’t Like Musicals, then all Trail to Oregon, and then the rest of the StarKid musicals.
I blame you.
Me too! Now I’m using the video to try to convert my friends. The Apotheosis is upon us!
Same!
I NEVER KNEW HOW MUCH I NEEDED THIS, BUT KNOW I DEPEND ON IT.
2:11, 4:33, and 4:47 are the parts for "Hey Mr. Business, how do you do?" for those of you who are looking for it
Thanks
Honestly, 4:33 is stuck in my head. It kinda... makes me wanna sing it. But i singing one note from the harmony at the last doooo just sounds wrong. You need both...

Also, nice touch of having Paul toss the coffee over his shoulder, full of the "blue shit". I've only now noticed that!

*”HELLO?!”*
*THINK ABOUT THE IMPLICATIONS*
when the musical ends do they just all die? or what?
Ye
Kinda The endings unclear
The entire world becomes a musical, I guess? Fine with me though, I'm with Prof. Hidgens
@Aspiring Bod I see you’ve thought about the implications...
The implications are actually very interstingly already presented in the normal life of Emma and Paul:
Paul represents the implication of "not being part of the choir". Everybody in his office loves musicals and his best friend just won't stop talking about them, but he just is "The guy who doesn't like musicals". His implication is the reality the un-infected live in.
Emma is the "being forced to sing along" implication. In the musical, we eventually understand that the aliens are in control of the infected, but imagine the fact that the mind of the infected might still be working under there (as seen in "let it out", where paul can feel losing control). The people might be in pain, or even dying, and they are forced to sing along in harmony. Emma represents this bc of her work.
Thanks for coming to my TED talk
They way paul said nooo when he heard emma singing is true love.
This animatic introduced me to starkid and I’ve never been more grateful
Same one day I decided to actually click on the video and it introduced me to the fandom
I live for the little shoulder shimmies 02:16
I had to sing a song whenever someone came in with a birthday.
I learned to fake stomach cramps pretty quickly and managed to get out of it, but I feel for my fallen brothers and sisters who knew hell whenever they saw balloons.
You nailed the expressions perfectly! The way Paul slaps the coin down and just starts screaming is so fucking funny.
I love this BUT YOU DIDN'T INCLUDE ROBERT AT THE END SHSJDJDNDJDJD WHERE IS MY PRECIOUS BOY. Ok now that thats out of my system, this is so good!
Taps counter calmly:
*HELOOOOOOOO HELOOOOOOOOOO*
*PLEASE GOD I JUST WANT A BLACK COFFEE!*
“ARE YOU FRIGHTENED?!?”
By far the best line in the musical.
It's scary when you think about the implications
Ever here a single part of a song and think, “yes, I want more of that,” but it turns out that part’s only sung once or twice in the song? Yeah that’s the, “heeey mister business, and we’ll bring it right up!” Part for me
"we'll make a double for youuu~"
me, screaming.
Paul: *walks in smiling*
Paul: *slaps the counter still chipper and smiling*
Paul: HELLOOOOOOO! hELlLoOO!!! PLEASE GOD I JUST WANT A BLACK COFFEE!
