I'm so hyped omg Spoilers-ish (we've passed over this part but it was skipped over in the anime) I recall that it was mentioned that Satella isn't compatible with her witch factor. She also isn't a born witch. Crackpot theory: I wonder if what happened was that there are people like Satella and Emilia who are just born linked to the door sealing Od Laguna once in a while or something, but for some reason someone (maybe pandora?) forced the envy witch factor upon Satella, resulting to what is likely the most powerful witch ever. It's just a crackpot theory tho

I have three main theories: 1. It is the Od Laguna/a pathway/key to Od Laguna. Pandora can mess with reality, but apparently she has specific limits, and one of those limits believe is she most be somehow connected (physically present or something equivalent) to whatever she is altering. And if she got access to the soul of the world, she might be able to rewrite... well, anything, basically. 2. Whatever spawned the Witch Factors. It has been stated that the Authorities and Divine Protections are basically opposites and incompatible, but the question remains - if Divine Protections are created by Od Laguna, who/what made the Witch Factors? And by what means? I don’t think this question is ever brought up, even though Tappei affirms on multiple occasions that the Factors did not begin with the latest generation - so where and how did they start? 3. Something connected to Satella - perhaps the Envy Factor or whatever else created WoE persona. While I’m not sure about Emilia being a clone of the same kind as Ryuzu (since Ryuzu clones explode into mana upon death, and we have seen Emilia die normally, corpse and all) there is very clearly some "younger version of the Witch" shenanigans going on with her - and Emilia seems to be key in opening the seal. I believe, therefore, that whatever is inside the seal is only meant to be opened when Emilia is prepared to embrace it - and I think what Pandora was trying to do was to get Emilia to unleash it before she could control it, to gain power over her... possibly the same thing she once did to Satella herself.

Most theories about Emilia's origins require her to have been frozen twice (or preserved some other way, like Ryuuzu Meyer in the crystal) - once as a baby, so she doesn't realize it. This is because there are too many things suggesting she was born while Echidna was alive, which I talked about in the video.

a little extra detail, when the seal was first shown if you play at 0x25 speed you can see a women engraved in the door with at the center a small blue gem. the women lack parts of legs and arms.
Not gonna lie Pandora is pretty overpowered. I also like how they displayed some of her abilities in this episode. I also like how her voice actor took that role. She was just chill the whole episode. So glad to be a novel reader right now.
its funny that the Japanese named a Pleiades star cluster as "Subaru" thats also a cars brand, btw the Pleiades star cluster is also known as "seven sisters" out of which we get 7 witches of sin, just putting some more food on the table
Spoiler: Most likely, Emilia's mother is Minerva and her father was alive at that time. She gave birth to Emilia and they left her with Fortuna, who was sent forward in time. That is why Puck (Emilia's real father turned into a spirit, which is heavily indicated in the web novel), searched for her for centuries. They didn't know how far she would end up. That is also why Pandora took so long to attempt anything against the seal, as she was also in search of her in order to open the seals.
Emilia's mother being Minerva is just one theory. Personally I prefer a completely different theory about Emilia's creation that doesn't involve Minerva at all.
A Seal could be a copper box "Sealed" with wax in the old days Since Pandora is interested in "The Seal" which can be a security feature of a copper box = "Pandora's Box". All the sins and virtures escaped and was lost to mankind except for "Hope" and "Love" according to some stories which is still secured in the box

This is something I just thought of, and correlates to the Minerva is Emilia’s mother theory, the seal could have something to do with the other six witches. Kind of a stretch, but the seal could possibly be a door to Echidna’s world.
It would be cool if the seal is related to the ancient Witches. The Witches of Sin are not the first witches in the world of Re:Zero so it would be cool if the Seal conncets to the ancient Witches.
Yeah I could imagine it being something like that - like maybe it seals the first witch or something, which is why it doesn't have the witch of Envy's miasma, but still looks from its design like it might seal a witch.

Based off the name vanity, I could assume from the way other witches truly Inherit the ideal of their name, that pandora simply wanted the seal unlocked because she saw it as something difficult to do, and therefore wanted to conquer the seal to have as a personal or shared achievement. no other reason than to supplement her vanity
@@NatalieXHunter Sadly healing magic can’t deal with disease, as Tappei wrote in one of the Q&A’s (don’t remember which one, but probably the magic one I think), so they would have to deal with a full on Pandemic too.
What makes me think it's not a portal to another world is the way Subaru entered: he didn't go though a door or even pass out and wake up somewhere else. Why would there be a need for a doorway if there's an instant teleportation spell/power?
@@Lulink013 Because it has been already alluded by many important characters of the place called the Great Waterfall, which randomly brings people from the real world to ReZero world. If there's a place with the ability to bring people one way, it's only logical to imagine there's some other place or a device able to do the inverse. Also, it's one of (many) fan speculations that the time Subaru noticed himself in ReZero was not the same time he was pulled from irl.
Im fairly convinced pandora has something to do with what happened to satella, and how the world currently sees the witch of envy as a terrible villain. She may well be, but I think pandora may be partially responsible for how the world remembers her. Seeing as she can rewrite reality to some extent.

This theory has Arc 5 spoilers What if the seal had Minerva's corpse and the wrath witch factor? There is about no doubt that Sirius = Fortuna, that means Pandora made her the wrath bishop, wich means that the seat was vacant, maybe the reason it was vacant was the lack of the witch factor. Minerva was known for using her authority to heal, and that it disrupted the world so much it caused huge natural disasters, and maybe that is what Fortuna feared would cause the end of the world if the seal was open. This theory would also explain why Geuse knew Flugel, why Pandora wanted to open the seal, why Minerva talked to Emilia in the LN, and why Pandora gave the wrath factor to Fortuna. Flugel probably used all the factors to seal Satela, after he did so he didn't have a reason to keep them, so maybe he sealed the more dangerous ones and trusted the seal to people he knew.
i still think there must be a ton of mana inside the seal, if it was satellas mana then it should be fire based, wich will explain why the area near it is frozen and why emilia could freeze the forest to begin with (if she open it or not).
I’m an anime only, but not overly bugged by spoilers. My guess from the dialog in ep 43, is that the Seal contains our boy Puck. An uncontrolled Puck blasts through and freezes the forest which sets up Frozen Bonds.
Spoiler: I can definitely see why anime onlies are expecting that, where it does seem like the seal is going to be opened, but actually, while we do see how the forest gets frozen, we don't see the seal opened. It is possible Puck was behind the seal and got out in the time Emilia was frozen somehow, but it seems weird that Tappei wouldn't have revealed that in Frozen Bond or somewhere, rather than setting the seal up here as a mystery for the future.

I think Pandora's powers actually are illusions. She might never have actually damaged Geuse, explaining how his wounds were healed, and Regulus was never there, as she said. Every other damage she inflicted was by tricking others to fight damage themselves or other people.
Just a thought that occured me, but could it be one for Satella and one for the Witch on Envy? That would make sense why Emilia has the key but the other door is the one surrounded by miasma, since it's confirmed they were two sides of the same being.
...Wasn't it mentioned that the reason that everythinh is white around the Elior Forest seal because the laws of the world are kinda... broken there? I mean, whatever that seal is holding back seems to exert a *RIDICULOUS* amount of force onto the world even under a seal. I mean, just being sealed doesn't necessarily mean that you're powerless. Satella did supposedly destroy half the world all by herself, so her being sealed and seeing her so far could equal a 'brought down to badass' scenario as opposed to being totally nerfed and powerless. Anyway, as for whatever is behind the Elior seal? It would be interesting if it did lead to another world, or the system responsible for soul recycling n all that... But then, why would either of those things have to have been sealed in the first place? Does it have to do with Emilia? Speaking of the Seal/Doir leading to another world... I'd get a chuckle if the new 7 Pleiades Doors led to trials/worlds based on the 'What If' routes that can only be opened with the corresponding Witch Factor. Now *THAT* would be something! I doubt it, but who knows.
I think what is at the other side is something sinister power that will later transform Emilia into Satella And Subaru into flugel into evil beings when Openned and all this has happened before in the Future and Pandora is trying to make it happened in the past.
17:44 seeing as the forest takes 7.5 years to traverse (maybe 1-4 if you’re in a party with faster transportation), I could see the seal being the hall of memories or od lagna since it still would’ve been incredibly difficult to find the seal in its current state of frozen, let alone the difficulty of infiltrating the forest and it’s elves during the forests peak when the seal could’ve been more easily and reasonably found. Although the bigger question here is why would elves make it their goal to protect od lagna, and how would Emilia be there protecting od lagna? If she’s Satella’s clone or daughter, it would go without saying to assume that satella and the other witches would have known od lagna was there from their connection to fortuna and Emilia’s father. (Assuming that the seal is incredibly ancient) So why would they also consent to the protection of od lagna rather than the manipulation or taking of it? I’m not sure what else the door could be, maybe something that can transcend time and dimensions, we simply don’t have enough to narrow ANYTHING down, even just one crumb of info like why pandora was there or how could emilia hold the seal would massively help thin out what is possible
I'm not sure if the names are intentionally connected - usually the country is written as Lugunica and the source of magic etc is Od Lagna. Not sure though, it's an interesting idea.
Here is some food for thought. What if the seal in Elior Forest houses Flugel Himself. Having possessed (possibly) all Authorities, its possible the strain of such a thing could have degraded his mental state, much akin to the Madness Satella faced that created the "Witch of Envy". Fearing this, Flugel could have sealed himself away, and asked the Elves to ensure he never brings about that chaos. There are theories that Subaru is actually Flugel from the past, but "Time Travel Shennanigans" are not always appealing to people in stories. Its often seen as an excuse, and I doubt that will be the endgame reveal for the creator of Re:Zero, I see that he could go for something more substantial. Maybe having Flugel as a later antagonist who is behind that Elior Forest Seal. I believe this would have much more impact then a whole Time Travel situation. But this is merely my speculation.
Yeah, I'm not a fan of the 'time travel shenanigans' thing myself (I have a whole video about that, called 'Subaru is NOT Time Travel Flugel' if you're interested in why). This could definitely be interesting, I just think it would be more likely that if a seal housed Flugel, it would be the one at the Pleiades watchtower, which he built. I know a lot of people think that's the seal on the witch of Envy, but from what I can tell she is sealed somewhere near to the tower, not inside it, and the location of her seal isn't a secret.
I really hope he doesn't just go home at the end through some door or any way(although I would love a short somehow visit to his parents to have real non Echidna made chat). After what he went through and Emilia's trash life too, they both deserve a happy ending more than 98% of other characters I can think of in any media.
If you were Subaru, would you go back to your original world? I don't think that he has much to go back to, especially, if time has passed in both worlds.
That would be really cool, but I think his dad (trial of the past version, so not actually him) joked about him and Subaru's mother being too old to want to have another child. I mean, they probably still could, I think Naoko is only supposed to be in her late 30s, but it seemed like they weren't planning to. According to Tappei, they are searching for Subaru, and so I can't see it being likely that they'd just decide to have another kid, but it is possible I suppose.

Maybe satella is seal inside Subaru making him the key, I don’t think this is where Tappei is going with the story since he has been pushing that Emilia is the key but I like to believe that the witch of envy is seal inside of Subaru, I think the other witches know because of what happened in the dream world but I’m not sure sure if Pandora and the warlock knows (he another witch but I forgot his name) I like to believe they don’t know yet
I thought the clues pointed out that Puck was freed from that seal and spoke to Emilia while thinking he was speaking to Satella, but realized that she wasnt her but still wanted to help her!?!
I think the seal holds the remains of Minerva, the witches remains become important later on in the webnovel so it would make sense why the witchcult would want it. Also if Minerva is Emilias mother it would makes sense why Emilia's the only one who can open it.

I'm an anime only so maybe some of the ideas I have about the seal might have been debunked later in the series. 1) I think it's puck inside the seal because it is said that it would be the end of the world if the seal is opened and puck does try to end the world when he is in the monster form, it would also explain why the forest was frozen I guess. That wouldn't really explain why pandora wants to open the seal because since pandora can rewrite history then puck wouldn't help her with much. 2) It could contain the Pride factor or the Envy Factor because the authority of pride seemed pretty OP when the whitch of pride used it to take away Subaru's hand and later break him into pieces even though he wasn't guilty of anything we also haven't seen the Archbishop of pride maybe he comes later in the series same thing goes with the Archbishop of Wrath but the authority of Wrath doesn't seem as overpowered as the authority of pride so that's why I think it's the pride factor in there. The Envy which factor isn't shown in the anime so I don't know what it is but since Satella is the witch of envy and she is the strongest witch it only makes sense for her Authority to be the strongest
Some interesting ideas - I won't say if they've been debunked later or not to avoid spoiling you, but they make sense with what we currently know in the anime. However, I will say that, while it isn't really obvious in the anime yet, the authority associated with a witch factor actually varies depending on the person who has it. This means that the authority of pride doesn't mean that whoever has it can do what Typhon could do with it. A good example is the authority of gluttony. Daphne was able to create witchbeasts, and could also cause people who look into her eyes to go insane from hunger. But the sin archbishop of gluttony we saw attack Rem couldn't do those things, instead, his authority, as Puck explained in season 2 episode 1, is to eat people's names and memories. Regulus is the archbishop of greed, but his abilities are nothing like Echidna's. So I don't think one witch factor would be regarded as stronger or more dangerous than the others based on the witch who held it having a more dangerous ability, iykwim.

That should be impossible considering Puck was created 400 years ago and this story with Fortuna and Emilia takes place 100 years ago, but the lines were indeed quite damning. Makes me question whether there is some type of time travelling or reality/history rewriting going on here.

I get the sense that there are serious time issues present in Re zero and as more chapters/arcs come out, things will get clearer. Also I have been wondering for a while now; did Emilia tell everyone about her trials and Pandora and Regulus in the LN? Because i dont remember any discussion of it even after they kill Regulus.
i am like 90 percent certain that the seal holds satella. since there have been many hints that pandora has organiazed the witch cult and the killing all the other witches to give satella and the archbishops all the other witch factors .pandora also has influence on Emilias parents that i was just told about this new episode.
@@jordan9503 we already know where Satellas seal is in Arc 6, and what the key to unlock it is. Well, the latter is uncertain, but it seems like our theory is accurate. Nearly EVERYONE is in agreement with the theory of what the key to Satella's seal is, so it's a credible theory. Anyway, the only one who can open Satella's seal is Subaru. (In the future.) Or maybe those just like him. Not as in transferred from another world just like him. A Sage Candidate. If there are others besides him.
While we do know where Satella's seal is, and I talk about this in the video, there is still the theory that the witch of envy was sealed in more than one place (divided into mind, body, spirit, or in some other way), and the seal we know about is only one of them, with the seal in Elior forest being another. I don't particularly like that theory, because I think if the seal had any part of the WoE behind it then it would be surrounded by miasma and witchbeasts, but I said all of that in the video. Like I say, not a theory I particularly like, because I think the seal we do know about is the only one, but it's still a way that both things could be true. Another point is that the confirmed witch's seal's location is also not a secret in world - the witch cult are always trying to get to it, it's just very hard to reach - so it would seem weird for this seal in the forest to be a secret and that one to be public knowledge.
Random ideas: Emilia's father is behind the door, since whatever it is has an affinity for ice, and Emilia is the key. Fortuna is Puck (though she doesn't have an ear ring, but lets go with that for now), Emilia is Satella, which is currently hugging a body pillow of Subaru somewhere in the world.
to me the seal was broken while Emilia was frozen and Puck came out of it, hence the ice and what Fortuna said about it being the end of the world if it was broken, anime only spoiler warning: and that may also explain why Emilia was the key to open it, you know, her contract is what keeps Puck in check
I could sort of see that, but why would Pandora want to get her hands on Puck so badly? I mean, it's as good as any other theory, would just seem strange to me to have something like that set up and then not reveal that the seal had been broken in Frozen Bond or somewhere, so we're left thinking it is still there and still important.
From the anime, I expected Emilia to be 400 years old as everything important occurred back then and she was called the daughter of a witch. The only witch still around is Satella, who is a half elf herself, thus it must have been one of those that lived 400 years ago. Regarding their behavior, only Wrath makes sense. Though Echidna could theoretically be it as well, but that would be a little awkward...
Came back to this vid after rewatching this part of the season, i now believe the seal might have envy witch body parts or some other remnant of satella. this is based off some of the lines people like pandora geuse and echidna say, they know certain things but not other parts they should if it was anything else. it’s all a bit confusing but fortuna says if the seal is opened, the world will come to an end for real this time, this leads me to believe that pandoras goal to open the seal has to do with unsealing some part of satellas power. It would also explain why Emilia in particular is the key if she has some relation to satella, whether she’s a clone or some shit idk, but the relation to satella at all is reason enough for only her being able to be the key. Geuse admits relation to “master flugel” who gave him the sloth factor. it’s possible flugel created him, although I thought it was a witch initially, but this relation leads me to think that flugel could be the reason the door is there, he would certainly have the power to create a seal that a witch couldn’t break
@@chloe5886 I never really liked her design in the LNs after reading the WN, and tbh animated it isn't any worse. The acting was nice and understated, though a lot of people weren't expecting her to have a loli voice. I think it kinda works fine though, given it's not a full on cute voice like a cuter character like Ryuuzu.
I think Puck is sealed behind because: 1) the seal is surrounded by ice, 2) Puck was the one who found Emilia frozen outside of the seal, 3) Fortuna said if the seal was undone then the world would end, and Puck has been shown to have the intent to end the world if Emilia dies (if not prevented from doing so by Reinhart). It's conceivable that the seal eventually deteriorated after the forest was frozen, allowing Puck to escape. We know that Puck is an artificial spirit (created by Echidna?) like Beatrice; assuming the seal was for Puck, I'm guessing Puck somehow received the personality/memory of Fortuna or someone else familiar with Emilia since Puck refers to Emilia as Lia and apologized to Emilia for leaving her alone after she woke up. As far as spoilers go, Arc 5 has shown us that the witch cult is looking for artificial spirits for some reason and we also know that artificial spirits can and have been imbued with the personalities of other people (Eridna has Echidna's personality for example), so it would explain why Pandora wanted to open the seal to begin with (to get Puck) and how Puck may have the personality of someone who knows Emilia. Edit: Pretty sure the seal under Pleiades Watchtower is the actual one holding the Witch of Envy considering the miasma surrounding it.
well=/= alive maybe her parents were only well 100s of years ago. That does not mean they are not alive now. Kind of like geuse was only really well 100 years ago and now he may be alive (pre subaru), but he certainly wasnt well. What i am trying to say is, that his parents may just have gone crazy in some way, which makes it possible that emilia was born to them.
Yeah, it's possible, but either way he's still implying he knew them a long time ago, by his standards (which in the context of this scene, where he says Fortuna is like a child to him, probably means hundreds of years), and Emilia's human mother shouldn't have been alive that long ago if Emilia was born 7 years ago. Though there are probably ways of extending lives, especially for a witch...
under the seal remains the common sense stolen from karens and chads amongst that sock your laundry seemed to have left behind and that nerf dart you shot as a child but one question: why would they keep emilia near the seal if she is the key? why not getting her as far as possible?
Maybe they were actually going to open it when the time was right according to their plans, so they kept them together? Or maybe they didn't have the resources to protect two locations. It's hard to say.

A door with 7 gems vs 7 doors is a huge change. If there were some temptation arc, it turns into a choice arc. Why did you pick blue door, instead of "why did you open the door?" The function of one door with 7 locks and 7 individual doors is different too. Seven doors makes it seem far less significant. Sort of like in video games, "you unlocked loot room 3! To unlock puzzle room 4, you must first get 75 head shots in a day."
Question though I read WN was a bit confused on how fortuna said lia I mean I know there is a theory that she is Sirius but now I be thinking she puck did something change in the LN

Fortuna probably isn't Puck. The lines where Fortuna said Puck-like things were a surprise (I don't recall her doing that in the WN), but there are plenty of other theories about who both Puck and Fortuna are, and none of them have connected Fortuna to being Puck until this episode.

Haven't watched the video yet but I'm confused as to why you made a 20min long video about why the seal exists since as an anime only it's pretty obvious what the seal is from the content of the episode : puck, since it's supposed to end the world and Pandora wants it loose. If I had to guess I'd say the key is not an object but a person, either a descendant of who made the seal (Emilia's dad?) or just Emilia. Can't wait to see how I'm wrong in a sec. I'm done watching... And I don't understand why it can't simply be Puck. Maybe I'm misremembering something important here. It makes things cold around it! And if somebody opened it it's probably Emilia 100 years ago, who would then make her memory removing contract and get frozen. It lines up pretty well unless we know the seal hasn't been opened at all since we saw it in Emilia's memories, but it looks like like Pandora wanted to force her to open it so she probably did.
It's not Puck. I can get why that would seem obvious if you're watching the anime thinking the seal will be opened in the next episode or so, but put it this way - although this isn't a spoiler video, I am up to date on the web novel (which is at the start of arc 7), and I wouldn't make a 20 minute video pretending not to know the answer to something that everyone who has read the novels actually does know the answer to.
Puck is incredibly powerful but he's not really strong enough to end the world. In every time period we've seen in Re:Zero there's been quiet a few people who could take him down without too much trouble.

The Witch of Envy is sealed at the tower which is why it's got all the miasma leaking out of it and the seal in the forest seals Satella herself? Maybe Pandora needs to retrieve Satella from the forest seal before she can release the Witch of Envy from the Tower seal. But then that doesn't really explain why the elvs think the world would truly end if the forest seal was opened because it's the Witch of Envy that's dangerous and that one is sealed up at the tower. Maybe the details regarding the seal were messed around with by Pandora so that the forest seal housing something that would end the world was something Pandora made up to motivate the elves to protect it until Pandora was ready to open it? I'm just going from the it's and pieces of the novels/anime. I have seen all of the anime but as for the source material, I have yet to read it myself and only know of a general summery of things that occurred after the anime. I have three main theories:
1. It is the Od Laguna/a pathway/key to Od Laguna. Pandora can mess with reality, but apparently she has specific limits, and one of those limits believe is she most be somehow connected (physically present or something equivalent) to whatever she is altering. And if she got access to the soul of the world, she might be able to rewrite... well, anything, basically.
2. Whatever spawned the Witch Factors. It has been stated that the Authorities and Divine Protections are basically opposites and incompatible, but the question remains - if Divine Protections are created by Od Laguna, who/what made the Witch Factors? And by what means? I don’t think this question is ever brought up, even though Tappei affirms on multiple occasions that the Factors did not begin with the latest generation - so where and how did they start?
3. Something connected to Satella - perhaps the Envy Factor or whatever else created WoE persona. While I’m not sure about Emilia being a clone of the same kind as Ryuzu (since Ryuzu clones explode into mana upon death, and we have seen Emilia die normally, corpse and all) there is very clearly some "younger version of the Witch" shenanigans going on with her - and Emilia seems to be key in opening the seal. I believe, therefore, that whatever is inside the seal is only meant to be opened when Emilia is prepared to embrace it - and I think what Pandora was trying to do was to get Emilia to unleash it before she could control it, to gain power over her... possibly the same thing she once did to Satella herself.
I had a theory that Emilia and Satela are twins, but it needed to other theory (that Emilia was frozen twice) to be true

Most theories about Emilia's origins require her to have been frozen twice (or preserved some other way, like Ryuuzu Meyer in the crystal) - once as a baby, so she doesn't realize it. This is because there are too many things suggesting she was born while Echidna was alive, which I talked about in the video.

Most likely, Emilia's mother is Minerva and her father was alive at that time. She gave birth to Emilia and they left her with Fortuna, who was sent forward in time. That is why Puck (Emilia's real father turned into a spirit, which is heavily indicated in the web novel), searched for her for centuries. They didn't know how far she would end up. That is also why Pandora took so long to attempt anything against the seal, as she was also in search of her in order to open the seals.
Emilia's mother being Minerva is just one theory. Personally I prefer a completely different theory about Emilia's creation that doesn't involve Minerva at all.

It would be cool if the seal is related to the ancient Witches. The Witches of Sin are not the first witches in the world of Re:Zero so it would be cool if the Seal conncets to the ancient Witches.

Based off the name vanity, I could assume from the way other witches truly Inherit the ideal of their name, that pandora simply wanted the seal unlocked because she saw it as something difficult to do, and therefore wanted to conquer the seal to have as a personal or shared achievement. no other reason than to supplement her vanity

What makes me think it's not a portal to another world is the way Subaru entered: he didn't go though a door or even pass out and wake up somewhere else. Why would there be a need for a doorway if there's an instant teleportation spell/power?
@@Lulink013 Because it has been already alluded by many important characters of the place called the Great Waterfall, which randomly brings people from the real world to ReZero world. If there's a place with the ability to bring people one way, it's only logical to imagine there's some other place or a device able to do the inverse. Also, it's one of (many) fan speculations that the time Subaru noticed himself in ReZero was not the same time he was pulled from irl.

What if the seal had Minerva's corpse and the wrath witch factor?
There is about no doubt that Sirius = Fortuna, that means Pandora made her the wrath bishop, wich means that the seat was vacant, maybe the reason it was vacant was the lack of the witch factor.
Minerva was known for using her authority to heal, and that it disrupted the world so much it caused huge natural disasters, and maybe that is what Fortuna feared would cause the end of the world if the seal was open.
This theory would also explain why Geuse knew Flugel, why Pandora wanted to open the seal, why Minerva talked to Emilia in the LN, and why Pandora gave the wrath factor to Fortuna.
Flugel probably used all the factors to seal Satela, after he did so he didn't have a reason to keep them, so maybe he sealed the more dangerous ones and trusted the seal to people he knew.
i still think there must be a ton of mana inside the seal, if it was satellas mana then it should be fire based, wich will explain why the area near it is frozen and why emilia could freeze the forest to begin with (if she open it or not).
I’m an anime only, but not overly bugged by spoilers. My guess from the dialog in ep 43, is that the Seal contains our boy Puck.
An uncontrolled Puck blasts through and freezes the forest which sets up Frozen Bonds.

I can definitely see why anime onlies are expecting that, where it does seem like the seal is going to be opened, but actually, while we do see how the forest gets frozen, we don't see the seal opened. It is possible Puck was behind the seal and got out in the time Emilia was frozen somehow, but it seems weird that Tappei wouldn't have revealed that in Frozen Bond or somewhere, rather than setting the seal up here as a mystery for the future.

I think Pandora's powers actually are illusions. She might never have actually damaged Geuse, explaining how his wounds were healed, and Regulus was never there, as she said.
Every other damage she inflicted was by tricking others to fight damage themselves or other people.
Just a thought that occured me, but could it be one for Satella and one for the Witch on Envy? That would make sense why Emilia has the key but the other door is the one surrounded by miasma, since it's confirmed they were two sides of the same being.

I think what is at the other side is something sinister power that will later transform Emilia into Satella And Subaru into flugel into evil beings when Openned and all this has happened before in the Future and Pandora is trying to make it happened in the past.
17:44 seeing as the forest takes 7.5 years to traverse (maybe 1-4 if you’re in a party with faster transportation), I could see the seal being the hall of memories or od lagna since it still would’ve been incredibly difficult to find the seal in its current state of frozen, let alone the difficulty of infiltrating the forest and it’s elves during the forests peak when the seal could’ve been more easily and reasonably found. Although the bigger question here is why would elves make it their goal to protect od lagna, and how would Emilia be there protecting od lagna? If she’s Satella’s clone or daughter, it would go without saying to assume that satella and the other witches would have known od lagna was there from their connection to fortuna and Emilia’s father. (Assuming that the seal is incredibly ancient) So why would they also consent to the protection of od lagna rather than the manipulation or taking of it? I’m not sure what else the door could be, maybe something that can transcend time and dimensions, we simply don’t have enough to narrow ANYTHING down, even just one crumb of info like why pandora was there or how could emilia hold the seal would massively help thin out what is possible

Here is some food for thought. What if the seal in Elior Forest houses Flugel Himself. Having possessed (possibly) all Authorities, its possible the strain of such a thing could have degraded his mental state, much akin to the Madness Satella faced that created the "Witch of Envy". Fearing this, Flugel could have sealed himself away, and asked the Elves to ensure he never brings about that chaos. There are theories that Subaru is actually Flugel from the past, but "Time Travel Shennanigans" are not always appealing to people in stories. Its often seen as an excuse, and I doubt that will be the endgame reveal for the creator of Re:Zero, I see that he could go for something more substantial. Maybe having Flugel as a later antagonist who is behind that Elior Forest Seal. I believe this would have much more impact then a whole Time Travel situation. But this is merely my speculation.
Yeah, I'm not a fan of the 'time travel shenanigans' thing myself (I have a whole video about that, called 'Subaru is NOT Time Travel Flugel' if you're interested in why). This could definitely be interesting, I just think it would be more likely that if a seal housed Flugel, it would be the one at the Pleiades watchtower, which he built. I know a lot of people think that's the seal on the witch of Envy, but from what I can tell she is sealed somewhere near to the tower, not inside it, and the location of her seal isn't a secret.

I think the seal holds the remains of Minerva, the witches remains become important later on in the webnovel so it would make sense why the witchcult would want it. Also if Minerva is Emilias mother it would makes sense why Emilia's the only one who can open it.

I'm an anime only so maybe some of the ideas I have about the seal might have been debunked later in the series.
1) I think it's puck inside the seal because it is said that it would be the end of the world if the seal is opened and puck does try to end the world when he is in the monster form, it would also explain why the forest was frozen I guess. That wouldn't really explain why pandora wants to open the seal because since pandora can rewrite history then puck wouldn't help her with much.
2) It could contain the Pride factor or the Envy Factor because the authority of pride seemed pretty OP when the whitch of pride used it to take away Subaru's hand and later break him into pieces even though he wasn't guilty of anything we also haven't seen the Archbishop of pride maybe he comes later in the series same thing goes with the Archbishop of Wrath but the authority of Wrath doesn't seem as overpowered as the authority of pride so that's why I think it's the pride factor in there. The Envy which factor isn't shown in the anime so I don't know what it is but since Satella is the witch of envy and she is the strongest witch it only makes sense for her Authority to be the strongest
Some interesting ideas - I won't say if they've been debunked later or not to avoid spoiling you, but they make sense with what we currently know in the anime.
However, I will say that, while it isn't really obvious in the anime yet, the authority associated with a witch factor actually varies depending on the person who has it. This means that the authority of pride doesn't mean that whoever has it can do what Typhon could do with it. A good example is the authority of gluttony. Daphne was able to create witchbeasts, and could also cause people who look into her eyes to go insane from hunger. But the sin archbishop of gluttony we saw attack Rem couldn't do those things, instead, his authority, as Puck explained in season 2 episode 1, is to eat people's names and memories. Regulus is the archbishop of greed, but his abilities are nothing like Echidna's. So I don't think one witch factor would be regarded as stronger or more dangerous than the others based on the witch who held it having a more dangerous ability, iykwim.

That should be impossible considering Puck was created 400 years ago and this story with Fortuna and Emilia takes place 100 years ago, but the lines were indeed quite damning. Makes me question whether there is some type of time travelling or reality/history rewriting going on here.

i am like 90 percent certain that the seal holds satella. since there have been many hints that pandora has organiazed the witch cult and the killing all the other witches to give satella and the archbishops all the other witch factors .pandora also has influence on Emilias parents that i was just told about this new episode.

Nearly EVERYONE is in agreement with the theory of what the key to Satella's seal is, so it's a credible theory.
Anyway, the only one who can open Satella's seal is Subaru. (In the future.) Or maybe those just like him.

While we do know where Satella's seal is, and I talk about this in the video, there is still the theory that the witch of envy was sealed in more than one place (divided into mind, body, spirit, or in some other way), and the seal we know about is only one of them, with the seal in Elior forest being another. I don't particularly like that theory, because I think if the seal had any part of the WoE behind it then it would be surrounded by miasma and witchbeasts, but I said all of that in the video. Like I say, not a theory I particularly like, because I think the seal we do know about is the only one, but it's still a way that both things could be true. Another point is that the confirmed witch's seal's location is also not a secret in world - the witch cult are always trying to get to it, it's just very hard to reach - so it would seem weird for this seal in the forest to be a secret and that one to be public knowledge.

Random ideas: Emilia's father is behind the door, since whatever it is has an affinity for ice, and Emilia is the key. Fortuna is Puck (though she doesn't have an ear ring, but lets go with that for now), Emilia is Satella, which is currently hugging a body pillow of Subaru somewhere in the world.

I could sort of see that, but why would Pandora want to get her hands on Puck so badly? I mean, it's as good as any other theory, would just seem strange to me to have something like that set up and then not reveal that the seal had been broken in Frozen Bond or somewhere, so we're left thinking it is still there and still important.
From the anime, I expected Emilia to be 400 years old as everything important occurred back then and she was called the daughter of a witch. The only witch still around is Satella, who is a half elf herself, thus it must have been one of those that lived 400 years ago. Regarding their behavior, only Wrath makes sense. Though Echidna could theoretically be it as well, but that would be a little awkward...

Guys we've had it all wrong it's not a seal that closes something, it's the kind of seal that plays horns and balances balls on its nose.
Came back to this vid after rewatching this part of the season, i now believe the seal might have envy witch body parts or some other remnant of satella. this is based off some of the lines people like pandora geuse and echidna say, they know certain things but not other parts they should if it was anything else. it’s all a bit confusing but fortuna says if the seal is opened, the world will come to an end for real this time, this leads me to believe that pandoras goal to open the seal has to do with unsealing some part of satellas power. It would also explain why Emilia in particular is the key if she has some relation to satella, whether she’s a clone or some shit idk, but the relation to satella at all is reason enough for only her being able to be the key. Geuse admits relation to “master flugel” who gave him the sloth factor. it’s possible flugel created him, although I thought it was a witch initially, but this relation leads me to think that flugel could be the reason the door is there, he would certainly have the power to create a seal that a witch couldn’t break

The acting was nice and understated, though a lot of people weren't expecting her to have a loli voice. I think it kinda works fine though, given it's not a full on cute voice like a cuter character like Ryuuzu.

I think Puck is sealed behind because: 1) the seal is surrounded by ice, 2) Puck was the one who found Emilia frozen outside of the seal, 3) Fortuna said if the seal was undone then the world would end, and Puck has been shown to have the intent to end the world if Emilia dies (if not prevented from doing so by Reinhart). It's conceivable that the seal eventually deteriorated after the forest was frozen, allowing Puck to escape. We know that Puck is an artificial spirit (created by Echidna?) like Beatrice; assuming the seal was for Puck, I'm guessing Puck somehow received the personality/memory of Fortuna or someone else familiar with Emilia since Puck refers to Emilia as Lia and apologized to Emilia for leaving her alone after she woke up.
As far as spoilers go, Arc 5 has shown us that the witch cult is looking for artificial spirits for some reason and we also know that artificial spirits can and have been imbued with the personalities of other people (Eridna has Echidna's personality for example), so it would explain why Pandora wanted to open the seal to begin with (to get Puck) and how Puck may have the personality of someone who knows Emilia.
Edit: Pretty sure the seal under Pleiades Watchtower is the actual one holding the Witch of Envy considering the miasma surrounding it.

Yeah, it's possible, but either way he's still implying he knew them a long time ago, by his standards (which in the context of this scene, where he says Fortuna is like a child to him, probably means hundreds of years), and Emilia's human mother shouldn't have been alive that long ago if Emilia was born 7 years ago. Though there are probably ways of extending lives, especially for a witch...

The function of one door with 7 locks and 7 individual doors is different too. Seven doors makes it seem far less significant.

Fortuna probably isn't Puck. The lines where Fortuna said Puck-like things were a surprise (I don't recall her doing that in the WN), but there are plenty of other theories about who both Puck and Fortuna are, and none of them have connected Fortuna to being Puck until this episode.

Haven't watched the video yet but I'm confused as to why you made a 20min long video about why the seal exists since as an anime only it's pretty obvious what the seal is from the content of the episode : puck, since it's supposed to end the world and Pandora wants it loose. If I had to guess I'd say the key is not an object but a person, either a descendant of who made the seal (Emilia's dad?) or just Emilia. Can't wait to see how I'm wrong in a sec.

It makes things cold around it! And if somebody opened it it's probably Emilia 100 years ago, who would then make her memory removing contract and get frozen. It lines up pretty well unless we know the seal hasn't been opened at all since we saw it in Emilia's memories, but it looks like like Pandora wanted to force her to open it so she probably did.
It's not Puck. I can get why that would seem obvious if you're watching the anime thinking the seal will be opened in the next episode or so, but put it this way - although this isn't a spoiler video, I am up to date on the web novel (which is at the start of arc 7), and I wouldn't make a 20 minute video pretending not to know the answer to something that everyone who has read the novels actually does know the answer to.
Puck is incredibly powerful but he's not really strong enough to end the world. In every time period we've seen in Re:Zero there's been quiet a few people who could take him down without too much trouble.

On the door of the seal, WE Can see a statue of a woman, this IS the or one of the seals of the envy witch, or satella, i don't know more.
Idk if just having a woman on it means that for sure - it does certainly hint at it, but there could be plenty of other explanations for the design, and there's still the matter of where is all the miasma, and why is there that other seal everybody in world knows about where the witch of envy is sealed too, but this one is secret? There are all kinds of possibilities. Maybe it does seal a witch, but not that one. There were other witches before the witches of sin, maybe this seals the OG witch or something?

@@NatalieXHunter Perhaps the seal at the watch tower and the seal in the forest seal the 2 halves of Satella? The Witch of Envy is sealed at the tower which is why it's got all the miasma leaking out of it and the seal in the forest seals Satella herself?
Maybe Pandora needs to retrieve Satella from the forest seal before she can release the Witch of Envy from the Tower seal. But then that doesn't really explain why the elvs think the world would truly end if the forest seal was opened because it's the Witch of Envy that's dangerous and that one is sealed up at the tower. Maybe the details regarding the seal were messed around with by Pandora so that the forest seal housing something that would end the world was something Pandora made up to motivate the elves to protect it until Pandora was ready to open it? Cause maybe there's a specific time period she wants to release Satella/Witch of Envy in and she doesn't want the seals to be opened prematurely.
I'm just going from the it's and pieces of the novels/anime. I have seen all of the anime but as for the source material, I have yet to read it myself and only know of a general summery of things that occurred after the anime.
Also I find it interesting that Pandora can't just open the seal her self. It seems she needs others to do it for her so I guess this seal can't be directly influenced even by her power.
