When they rebuilt the interchange at Loop 12 it changed the area. It was like a time capsule before with the old motels with their original neon signs.
Looks like the areas around Harry Hines haven't changed all that much in a long time. I used to live nearby, near Love Field, sharing an apartment complex with Southwest Airlines flight attendants. Good times. Whenever I would see a "Harry Hines Blvd" street sign, I usually called out "Hiya, Harry!" I forget why. This often alarmed my passengers.
Much different from 40 years ago. Harry Hines was noted for adult book stores and "ladies of the evening" looking for, well, you know what. Many seedy motels and run down stores.. Also, there was no median and no trees. There was some guy selling mattresses out of a big tent on HH, but it turned out his "new" mattresses were re-covered old mattresses.
I grew up next to Dallas in Irving my dad had a machine shop on Mockingbird Ln in Dallas. I remember we would drive through Harry Hines at night, I just couldn't believe all the things happening, it was a very very very bad place to be at night!
Equinix InfoMart at 2:10. That is a data center, where data on the internet goes after being uploaded. Dallas-Ft. Worth is home to a lot of these data servers.
Oh, I would’ve never thought you would’ve been so close to me! I work by Lombardy Ln and Harry Hines, and I was working that afternoon you filmed this! Should’ve let me known you was passing by and I would’ve waited on the side of the road for you haha!
Per Wikipedia, Harry Hines was an official on the Texas Highway Commission in the 1930s and 1940s. The street was called Harry Hines long before the Mavericks NBA team even existed.
You should do a drive through the whole I-35E and 635 expressway/toll road! You should also make a video that details their construction. The expressway under 635 is extremely interesting as I’ve never seen any other American city that has such a expressway system that I’m aware of.
.the nightmare that cuts dallas in half….the never ending 635 BS. Madness….I live in Wylie and work all over dallas, but won’t get on 635…anyway, if you do end up doing the video of 635, charge everything up and has everything before you get on.
I don't know maybe its jus me or my timing but I went on harry Hines I did see one girl but for the most part it was pretty dead and I waited till about 8pm to see if I would see some action and I didn't so maybe this video was good a year ago but its not good now
thank you for showing the atmosphere in dallas - texas
Nice ride along Harry Hines Blvd in Dallas TX

Looks completely different than the early 60’s when I was there. I do have good memories of here Went to Stephen C Foster elementary 1-3 grade.

Seems fine to me based on his video
@@HowYouuuDoinnn go there at night and walk around! Lol
19:00 Looks like this turned into a SPUR, TX, or FM 354 at some point.
Seems to be TX Spur 354 from what I saw on GSV.

Iirc it used to be some sort of trade center filled with booths and small shops?

Beautiful neighborhood!
0:05 I wonder who that street is named after. Only some NBA guy I think that played for the Mavericks for a while.

@@garyd.7372 I was talking about an intersection on Houston St at the beginning of the video. Nothing to do with Harry Hines at that point.
I hear he's quite the popular fellow in these parts 😄
“Nowitzki Way” named after the notorious Dallas Mavericks star Dirk Nowitzki. That sits a block from American Airlines stadium.

Nice place
You recorded my license plate. Please blur it out. I don’t want my wife to know I was out cruising instead of bowling 🎳 . 😂

From the sounds of the potholes, you would think Pothole Pete was mayor.
Harry Hines and mannana 90s wild west.
Looks like he ran through a pothole at the beginning. Good ol Texas roads.
Wrong time of the sights to be out.
Where's the lot lizards? I thought HH was a high prostitution area
That’s the part from Northwest Highway to LBJ as I recall. Glory hole video arcade callled “Lipstick”.
I think it's limited to Walnut Hill and HH.
So am I the only crazy one that noticed the car that vanishes at the 7:05-7:06 mark?
@@williamhendren1011lol time lapse. He edited the video to skip the wait at the red light
You're supposed to play some Dr Dre or something.
