If your bolt is all the way removed the bottom plate should just come off. If your talking about the plate on the bottom of the screen, that assembly can kinda get hung up a bit. Jiggle it around and eventually you should find the sweet spot and it’ll drop too.

Slow warmup could mean no or bad thermostat.
Thermostat is located inside the upper radiator hose.
I can't get my filter out the plate comes down so far and that's it can not get it out no matter what
