i love your videos so so much. i swear the way you speak about things, especially your family and yourself, rewires my brain.... thank you for being so kind, graceful, and cool. and thank you for uploading so i can experience it from across the world 💛
When my daughter was little just before Christmas we used to put bags of toys under the Christmas trees, old toys that she didn't play with or use anymore. These toys of bags would then be collected by Father Christmas to take to children who didn't have many toys....(of course these would go to a charity shop) This way I had more space to put new toys after Christmas and less decluttering xx
20:06 GET OUT OF MY HEAD 🤣🤣 I giggled at that one because it's 100% me! I also used to think that structure would slow me down and take away my freedom but it has given me so much more space to do stuff! My brain has learned that at a certain time of day is the time I wanna be creative, and - I never thought this would work, but - it actually switches the creative-mode on; most of the time at least. Especially being self-employed with a toddler that is with me 24/7 I need that structure for my sanity and for him as well. Love this episode to pieces! You should have a podcast 🩶🩶🩶
"Here we are, a year later and it´s even worse" is a scenario I have lived through SO many times that it´s very, very hard to have any confidence left in myself. Thank you so much for sharing things so authentically, Remi! It means the world to me! xx
Remi, I have been with you since Mack mentioned you the first time. You have come such a long way with your cleaning & organizing. I look every day for a new video from you & then BANG, there you are. Thank you for sharing your life with us💖
I've taken over 3-4 days of childcare for 3 of our grandkids. I've had to get very organised with uniforms and lunches, and after school activities. I need to have routine, and know what and where I'm doing! Kids definitely need routine too, and fingers crossed, we're doing ok at the moment. That being said, I'm 66yrs old soon, and wish i was half my age, coz looking after a10,8, and 4yr old is exhausting! They're great kids though, and I'm blessed to be able to spend this time with them. Thanks Remi for sharing your life, and watching this reminds me that next week, me and grandkids are going to start decluttering their rooms a bit at a time. You've inspired me❤
You're my hero! I can relate to EVERYTHING you are thinking & saying regarding streamlining & thinning out your possessions. We all strive for an orderly & peaceful home for our family - but it's a daily, sometimes hourly, struggle. Thank you for sharing your failures as well as your successes & goals. We're all with you every step of the way in mind & body. The more we get rid of the easier life is - minimalist thinking!
I try to find new youtube cleaners all the time inbetween your uploads, but it rarely ever hits the spot like your videos😂 when you upload my day is made
Missed your beautiful calming voice ❤ what a treat your videos are, thank you ❤🙏and great progress on the boys room! I can totally understand why you need a break from it, that was a mamouth amout of work you did there ❤
Always a great morning when I can have my morning cup of coffee watching a Remi video. That was a ton of work you put in on the boys room and it looks fantastic. Also, so glad to hear that you and the boys are enjoying the table more often now that you've rearranged it. ❤
First time commenter. I love your videos. I do have a couple of tips about toy overload. When I was a young working mom, quality time with the kids was precious and I didn't want to spend it picking up or drowning in toys. Soon after Christmas decorating, the kids and I would go through the toys and "make room" in anticipation of the new ones. The kids loved it. It gave them a sense of control and excitement for new things. I used a strict 4:1 ratio. Every 4 items they kept, they donated one. They would kept things sentimental and got rid of others. It was a good system that worked for us. Birthdays too. It really built the kids excitement. Another thing I did was putting things in storage for a few months and rotating them in and others out. It was like getting new toys. The kids loved it .
I remember very well decluttering and having to clear out things they didn't play with and yes, it made me sad. Like you, I attached sentimentality to things so it was especially difficult. The new desk looks great, it's a sign of growing up which again, makes you sad. You HAVE made progress over the last year. I was here for 2023 cleaning, lol.
Thank you for touching on the toys im a mother of 3 toddlers but i bet it feels so good to be able to donate them out of ur home gives me motivation i enjoy watching your videos ❤
Oohh Remi!! I have been checking everyday for a new upload from you!! I am so happy to see this video this morning. As it's Saturday and now I get to clean with my favorite RUclips Creator!!❤❤❤
Remi, you've changed my life! I love and cherish every video you put out. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I'm easily overwhelmed with cleaning, and I've started using your methods and use your videos for inspiration and my home is manageable again.
Oh Remi, It's lovely to see you!!!!! You have soooo much energy. ❤ You really are magical. I hope you're having a Fabulous New Year💯🌹⚘️. ALL OF YOU HUGS & KISSES 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗😘😘😘😘😘
Remi! Greetings again from DC. Thank you so much for your wisdom, humor, love--your are such a comforting presence. And as I'm sure you can imagine, I (we) really need it here and all across the world really. Really enjoyed this video. Please take care!
Hei Remi❤ thank you for posting this kind of videos. You are helping me a lot and I wish I could tell it to your face just how much your videos mean to me. I got married last year after Ramadan and moved to Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 with my husband, and now I am pregnant with my first child, and I have adhd. Please keep posting, you’re benefiting a lot of people. ❤❤❤
I love your videos! Mostly because you have so much wisdom for someone so young! I believe you to be a wonderful mom and wife and you are doing so great! Another reason I don’t want to miss any of your videos is because you are so real and I also very much enjoy your chatting. Keep up the great work! ❤
Oh, Remi, GOOD job!!! 👍 👏 I just love relaxing with one of your videos and I always hate to see them end 😊 !! Happy weekend to you and Charlie, Rudy and Ike ❤
Remi, welcome back! I’ve missed you so much! One thing I’ve heard from mothers I know is put away most of the toys and kids can play with what is left out. Then some time later, bring out just 1 toy and they will think you have gotten them a present! As for all the presents I really like what Cherisim suggested. Invest in college funds. Or if the kids want something that is expensive, put the money in a jar marked with the name of that item. When there is enough money in the jar to buy that item, they can go get it. They need to contribute to the jar to make this work! Keep up the fantastic work you’re doing. We all love you so much!❤
Oh Remi…I love the how you changed the table around…looks amazing…well done on declutterring the boys room…your doing a fabulous job…thank you for sharing your life with everyone…love from Dawn from Perth Western Australia ❤
Remi, what a stellar video!! I love your videos and always want to say something right at the beginning.... But then you almost always answer it. I was so overwhelmed for you at the beginning and by the end I was in tears. Your comments about taking advice and struggling with ego - they are my life!! So comforting to know there are other artist/parents out there!! ❤❤
This was such great timing for me! I’m doing exactly the same toy declutter this morning. Weve got our kiddos birthday in April and so I’m trying to do several iterations of the declutter over the next couple months. Last year our family was good with chipping in for us to buy a swing set and climbing dome as bday gift. But the stuff never stoooooooops!
The desk gave me so much second-hand joy! It's the exact sort of thing I would have _loved_ as a kid - getting your first proper desk feels like such a 'grown-up' moment haha. That's a fantastic declutter, too!
Remi I'm so happy that you posted this because I have a room that seems to find all of my overflow. I don't have wee ones because now she is a biggin. 😂 I'm going to start that room today! I will say that when my daughter was a baby and up until she got married and moved in with her husband she THRIVED on a strict routine. She has 2 boys and I remember when she called me one day just after her second baby was born and she said, "thank goodness I follow your strict routine with her first baby/toddler because it helps me more now that I have the second baby." I felt the tears in my eyes and I told her that I didn't realize she was following my rules. She told me that she always felt safe, loved and relaxed at home because of how she was raised and she knew what to expect at particular times of the day or night. Now I wasn't a dictator or anything like that but I found that our evening routine was perfect and gave me a lot of time with my daughter to enjoy our night as working mom and get what needed to be done. To hear my daughter say she's teaching her kids the same way I did was so special to me and the best part was hearing her over the years tell me how well it works for the boys. I would get home from work and catch up with my daughter about her day and we would empty her knapsack and lunch box. I would start dinner because it would be 5:30. I would toss in a load of laundry before we ate, every night so it helped keep up on the laundry. My daughter had to do her homework or if no homework or study, she could do whatever for that 30 to 40 minutes. When she was a little older she had to make sure her bedroom was tidy and no clothes were on the floor. After dinner I didn't do anything with the dirty dishes or any housework because I didn't start my stuff until my daughter was in bed. It was usually around 6:30 at this point because we always sat at the table after we ate and had a cup of tea and continued chatting. The dinner table is so important to eat at because kids will give you their undivided attention and the best conversations are had between kids and their parents while at the table. No phones near the table! At 6:30 it was bath time for my daughter and she loved bath time when she was little. I would bounce between her bathroom and bedroom getting her pj's ready and her bed all comfy. The at 7 it was into bed after she had a quick snack and brushed her teeth. Then we read to her or vice-versa. I started reading to her when she was very young and it was as important as brushing your teeth. To say my daughter is obsessed with reading would be an understatement, she has always been a book lover. We read until 7:20ish and then she was allowed to read on her own until 7:30 and then it was lights out. She has always been an early to bed person and an early riser. If she stayed up past 8 she would always feel unwell the next morning and even as a little one she would tell me she had to go to sleep. She was a great child growing up but she also knew what to expect so there was rarely times she was over tired. I made sure that I did my house chores after she went to bed on and she had a few chores to do on the weekends and we did most of our cleaning on Saturdays as a family. Routine Routine Routine is the best way to raise little ones. It takes some effort in the beginning but if you stick to it you will remove so much stress from your life. My friends and family have followed my routine and said the same thing, it really works, kids get used to in pretty quickly and everyone told me their kids were so much happier at bedtime. It's also fun to get them to stay on time by making them go in fast speed. lol Or getting them to just move faster to beat the clock ⏰️ but make it all fun. I used to tell my daughter that I was off duty at 8. She would hurry to get everything done before 8. 😅 As long as the kids are not feeling punished for being late and it's all about the routine and watching the clock, they will become masters at following the routine. It's also a great way to teach them to tell time on an analog clock. 🕑❤❤ Sorry for the extra long story, but I heard your struggles. I hope you can use something from my experiences. ❤
That's some serious progress made. Good job! It's easier with the kids out of the way, isn't it.. We r expecting snow this week. The first of this season. Im off to the market this February 1st, in preparation. Your Oregon Viewer USA. ❄️🥶☕️
Great video Remi..what a difference the the boys bedroom looks…also love a little cheeky kitchen clean..I decluttered my whole house this last month room by room and don’t it feel great after doing it..😊❤
You did an amazing job. I think most people (not all!) when giving suggestions have tried something that works for them and want to share it. When I found youtuber Clutterbug and she showed different organizing styles it really made me aware that just because its not how I would do it does not make it wrong.
I have been doing the exact same with decluttering! I love the minimal mom’s advice for de-cluttering. These videos are also super motivating, as much as stuff and toys are fun to purchase in the moment, the overwhelm they cause everyone in the house is not worth it! 🙈
No judgement for not asking, you definitely know your children. I do ask my older kids (they are 8 & 10) for some things! My 10 year old is very minimalist which is so nice!
Thank you so much! 💜 Even tho my circumstances are different, I relate to you in many ways - especially the “all or nothing” type of thinking. I appreciate you! 👍🙂
I love your videos Remi and I love the voice over chats explaining everything...just a small thing...I keep bread in the fridge and it stops it going mouldy...just a thought...I'm not telling you what to do!!!
Cheering for you Remi. You do what you need to do to have the home and family life you want for you and your children. Reaffirm your boundaries and don’t feel bad abt it!
Thank you for your video, you are inspiring. I can’t tell you how much you have helped me. My girls left home 4 years ago, I lost my dad 5 years ago. I cleaned out his house for selling and guess where the his stuff ended up? Yes, and it was still in our house, the same place until before Xmas.. the girls have half their stuff here.. they’re not coming home.. I feel like if I get rid of their stuff I’m letting them go, which is ridiculous!! I’m still their mum, whatever age! Please keep going because you are my motivator babes
As a mun of 4 and now I have 8 grandsons I'll give you the tip I used when dealing with an abundance of toys. The month before Christmas because that's when the charity shops needed the most I had the kids pick out 10 toys each that they no longer wanted or played with. It helps those parents who need to buy from the charity shop and it gets rid of things before the Christmas presents are opened.
Hi Remi! Me having ADD, struggle with much, just like you. Fortunately I grow upp having a Grandpa being a Dentist so remembering brushing my teeth have never been a problem, but then I have many other thing I really struggle with, tidying up and cleaning for example... And I live alone so There is no one to tell me that my home looks like a bomb that have exploded or a hurricane have run through my home leaving everything in chaos and disorganised.. But the one thing that have changed a lot for me is the thing called Habit Stacking, so for example , I always Make a fast clean of the toilette after having used it (of course I flush it Before I clean it.) and I always put my Keys, and wallet in the same place just before I take my outdoor clothings off me. So I do not need to run around and look for them... A suggestion for you (just a small advise🙂 ) is to put your toothbrush maybe hanging i a mesh bag on the shower handle (or very close by, so when you shower you see the tooth brush and (hopefully) remember to brush your teeth😉☺ About Routines and Habit stacking I can recommened to read (or listen to) Atomic Habits written by James Clear. He explains everything very well and most times it is to make important things easier to remember and getting done and make the not so important things harder to do or remember them... Hopefully this book can help you even more to somewhat get on a good track! another great person to listen to is Mel Robbins, she herself has ADHD and is a great mentor of mine when it comes to mental brain training, and believe me, that is needed because I struggle a lot believing in my own abilities. Lots of love from Sweden!🥰🤗💖
So motivating, i always thought it was just me who fought against anybody who told me to do something their way. It made me inactive and rebel. But now is see its just random advice and i needed to detach the feelings of not being able to keep things tidy myself. I needed to just find my own way but as you said add structure that can be seen so i feel like doing it but it not being told to me , if that makes sense. I use lists on my phone. I use journaling and i use your videos and others like it to motivate me. I also have friends that check in so we can egg each other on with how far we have gotten in our days or our step counts with no judgement just friendly competition
I hired a professional organizer, and she said..."You dont need more bins. You need fewer things!" But I have ADHD, and it's hard for me to let go of things.😢
If more bins is what you need for the time being, don’t let someone discourage you. We all work differently! Maybe later down the line you’ll be able to let go, but more storage bins means less visual clutter, and that’s a good thing, too 😊
They have alot of storage Remi. They have too much stuff dear. You will get it as time goes on ( says a mom of 3 sons). It gets to be too much for them too I finally learned. They will use their imagination more with less things.❤❤ I love your attitude and the love you have for your family❤❤❤
I absolutely adore you Remi!!! Where do your boys sleep if not in their bedroom? I always feel like storage rooms are such a waste of usable space. I hope they live their new decluttered room and it brings a sense of excitement for them to have their own space!
Grandma gives the kids something they actually need & some snacks per child. She always put their initials on it too. Starting at age 5 no more toys for you ($25 toy prior ). Beach towel 2015, sleeping bag for camp 2016, bookbag 2017, plush duvet cover in their colors & initials 2018, jewelry & box 2019, curtains rug posters 2020, candle & water bottle 2021 (kids requested lol), gym bag 2022, adult size sleeping bag 2023. Now as teenagers she gives $50 gift card for where they like to go still with favorite snacks. Their Aunts are similar. One gives them beauty products: nail polish, hair stuff, lip gloss, later on nice hair tools. Their other Aunt takes them overnight Sat & Sun to big metropolitan city for food and fun. Like 3+ hours away! For us parents: Christmas had $60 per kid so no there wasn't much under the tree but they adapted. Dad did stockings stuffers and Christmas card so thats on him for budget lol. But we take 4 day holiday Dec 30- Jan 2 as we do work every day except Christmas itself and make it a point they have cash budget to get souvenirs by letting them know in advance on their Christmas cards. We tell them where we headed, the plan, and how much money they have for fun/ souvenir.
I love taking stuff out of boxes, I’ve even started taking pizza out of a box to fit more in my freezer and I get ridiculously pleased seeing the recycling bin full of cardboard 😂🙈
Hi Remi fab video as usual , just want to say when i sorted kids drawings , i took pics of each one so i had them stored , and got rid of the paper , u still have them to look at but no clutter, i do it with birthday cards too
@@remiclog I would of been freaking out if it was me lol, at least you have it sorted now and I have never not enjoyed one of your videos 😊 I have 20 mins to get as much done at home as humanly possible so this video came at the perfect time 😊 hope you, Charlie and boys are all good x
I’m 55, and there are still days I don’t feel like a grown up. My son is 26, I’m a great aunt six times over, and (sadly) I’ve lost both my parents. Yet, I find myself still second guessing myself.

As long as the kids are not feeling punished for being late and it's all about the routine and watching the clock, they will become masters at following the routine. It's also a great way to teach them to tell time on an analog clock. 🕑❤❤
Sorry for the extra long story, but I heard your struggles. I hope you can use something from my experiences. ❤
Well done Remi. This was a really enjoyable video. I love the new desk and toy kitchen for the children. ❤
Staying in top of my home is thanks to you and your videos and motivation you bring ❤❤❤ I hope you and your family are all well xx
I soo needed this Remi! I needed my body double. I have the itch of spring declutter but nothing to get me moving. Thank you!
Baby girl I think you are doing a amazing job on this and I know you can do it. I do hope the boys like it I do. God bless you all 🙏❤️🌹
That's some serious progress made. Good job! It's easier with the kids out of the way, isn't it..
We r expecting snow this week. The first of this season. Im off to the market this February 1st, in preparation. Your Oregon Viewer USA. ❄️🥶☕️
Love, love , LOVE this video ❤
Great video, Remi. The new kitchen and desk are perfect.
Wow, I’m always impressed how you organize so well, Remi! 👏🏻 Thanks for sharing. You motivate me! ❤
Great video Remi..what a difference the the boys bedroom looks…also love a little cheeky kitchen clean..I decluttered my whole house this last month room by room and don’t it feel great after doing it..😊❤
Im glad you are making all these changes, Im going to do them too! ❤❤❤❤
You have done a great job you are so smart ❤🌹🌹👍
So glad your back lovely lady 🩷
Thank you so much! 💜 Even tho my circumstances are different, I relate to you in many ways - especially the “all or nothing” type of thinking. I appreciate you! 👍🙂
I love your videos Remi and I love the voice over chats explaining everything...just a small thing...I keep bread in the fridge and it stops it going mouldy...just a thought...I'm not telling you what to do!!!
Excellent video. Decluttering and organizing well thought out. The room is now attractive and well functioning.♥
Thank you so much 😊
Cheering for you Remi. You do what you need to do to have the home and family life you want for you and your children. Reaffirm your boundaries and don’t feel bad abt it!
Omg Remi I've missed your videos so much! I check every day for new uploads. Wishing you all the best ❤
The timer in the kitchen!! Love it!
Love this video! I can so relate! You are a great Mom! Less is best!
That is Dutch a good idea for the stuffed animals. I wish I would have thought or known about that when my son was little.
You're doing amazing! So inspiring.
Thank you so much! ☺️
As a mun of 4 and now I have 8 grandsons I'll give you the tip I used when dealing with an abundance of toys. The month before Christmas because that's when the charity shops needed the most I had the kids pick out 10 toys each that they no longer wanted or played with. It helps those parents who need to buy from the charity shop and it gets rid of things before the Christmas presents are opened.
i love the wait a couple of weeks and see if you remember the thing being gone!
Decluttering videos are my favourite, I'm never inspired by cleaning videos, but decluttering - yes, makes me want to chuck half the house out.
Haha! This made me chuckle 🤭
A suggestion for you (just a small advise🙂 ) is to put your toothbrush maybe hanging i a mesh bag on the shower handle (or very close by, so when you shower you see the tooth brush and (hopefully) remember to brush your teeth😉☺
About Routines and Habit stacking I can recommened to read (or listen to) Atomic Habits written by James Clear.
Thanks for the awesome new video! We appreciate you ❤
I hired a professional organizer, and she said..."You dont need more bins. You need fewer things!" But I have ADHD, and it's hard for me to let go of things.😢
If more bins is what you need for the time being, don’t let someone discourage you. We all work differently! Maybe later down the line you’ll be able to let go, but more storage bins means less visual clutter, and that’s a good thing, too 😊
Well done Remi and Charlie! ❤
They have alot of storage Remi. They have too much stuff dear. You will get it as time goes on ( says a mom of 3 sons). It gets to be too much for them too I finally learned. They will use their imagination more with less things.❤❤ I love your attitude and the love you have for your family❤❤❤
Thank you❤ greetings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱
Love Rudi’s new desk, perfect for him to do his crafts and build Lego models etc.
Life happens, and we are blessed to have you share that, we are not alone ❤️
Love your videos Remi!!
Thank you. Another episode for an explanation that it is ok that I am wired differently. I really am thankful for you.
Love watching your videos and Clutterbug('s)
You should be proud demi you are amazing❤
Taking things out of the boxes is a brilliant idea , as is the teddy bean bag, clever idea👍
Thank you 😊
I love taking stuff out of boxes, I’ve even started taking pizza out of a box to fit more in my freezer and I get ridiculously pleased seeing the recycling bin full of cardboard 😂🙈
Hi Remi fab video as usual , just want to say when i sorted kids drawings , i took pics of each one so i had them stored , and got rid of the paper , u still have them to look at but no clutter, i do it with birthday cards too
Aw glad you managed to sort the uploading out hun, going to watch now and work alongside 😊
It’s been a right struggle!! Lots of back and forth with RUclips support, but we’ve managed it finally! I hope you enjoy it 🥰
@@remiclog I would of been freaking out if it was me lol, at least you have it sorted now and I have never not enjoyed one of your videos 😊 I have 20 mins to get as much done at home as humanly possible so this video came at the perfect time 😊 hope you, Charlie and boys are all good x
Great to see you again ❤❤❤
I’m 55, and there are still days I don’t feel like a grown up. My son is 26, I’m a great aunt six times over, and (sadly) I’ve lost both my parents. Yet, I find myself still second guessing myself.
Great tips as always Remi, ❤
I like the table turned that way
Love the title "enough is enough!" ....we all reach those moments when the house is out of control and like the grinch says "everything must go" 😂
You’re mimicking my life! You’re my twin flame! We’ll heal together
