Watching Asmon's reaction actually made me realize how random this cinematic looks when you don't have context. If you don't know that Kindred is a manifestation of death then it's just a barbarian with big sword fighting a magical lamb and a ghost wolf(???).
Wait... so you're telling me Tryndamere was on the brink of death and and was a fighting a manifestation of death. Due to his ultimate/ability to stay alive at 1 hp he powered through. Then Ashe his wife saved him? I have played the game back in the day but didnt know any lore. Only knew it was his wife from the comments. Man that scene hits way harder now. I was already giddy like a kid unwrapping a N64.
Yeah he was fighting those soldiers the entire time, but evading death (his ult), which is why Kindred (I guess representing the soldiers in a way) was so curious--as if aknowledging it's not his time. @@StripedCreations
That's immediately what I thought as well, such a cool concept. And the battle with Wolf/Kindred was masked with the soldiers, since after he wakes up from the daze all the soldiers surrounding him at the start were dead. Absolutely incredible scene
Yea previous cinematics generally made some sense to outsiders like myself... this one was just a collection of random clips that failed to raise any sort of emotion besides a bland feeling of "huh, animation is nice I guess"
The whole Cinematic is based around Kindred (Lamb and Wolf). In the World of Runeterra, Kindred is essentially the grim reaper. She collects those in death. there are signs of Kindred in all 3 scenes. the Scenes are broken up into Past, Future, and Present. In the Past, Two Demi-Angels, Kayle and Morgana Defended and dealt justice in a Land that would eventually become known as Demacia. The Scene Depicts an area under siege by the Darkin Aatroxx. Darkin were originally ascendant beings but they were driven mad by the void in a war long ago. Kayle and Morgana are sisters, their Mother is an angel, and they both hold 1 half of their mother's sword. They defeat Aatrox. In the lore, Kayle is stoic and brings justice in a very cold and unemotional way, while Morgana is more affected by the plight of humans and reasons that judgement and justice can be tempered. In the scene Morgana drops her mothers weapon and taps into darker powers to fight Aatrox, you can see the disdain Kayle has for Morgana in the quick glance she gives her, even as she takes up both halves of her mothers sword and causes the firestorm. if you look closely, there is an afterimage in the fire that is Kindred. Then you go to the Future, in Ionia, where we are greeted by an Old man version of Yasuo. After he uses his whirlwind, you see many arrows in the sky coming for Yasuo, including a bright one, which appears to hit him, this is the Arrow of Kindred, claiming Yasuo. if you look in the sky, you can also see the apparent shape of a wolfs head. in the last scene, which would be considered the Present, in Frejord, you see Tryndamere, who has the power to avoid death by tapping into his rage via blood magic. He is married to Ashe, a Frostborn Tribal Leader. In the scene, Trendamere is fighting death (literally) by fighting against Kindred (the Lamb and the Wolf). Tryndamere power in game is literally to become un-killable for a short period of time. As the fight goes on, Kindred lets her bow go because Ashe has arrived, and saves Tryndamere. It's not his time to die.
Thhanks for the explanation. Without context this looks random AF. Now, how do I connect it to Arcane? They're supposed to be set in the same universe AFAIK.
@@kamchatmonk There are a lot of different regions in Runeterra: Demacia. Freljord. Ionia. Noxus. The Shadow Isles. Bilgewater. Targon. Zaun and Piltover Since Arcane is placed in Zaun and Piltover they don't know the characters in the cinematic here. Freljord is where Tryndamere fights Death Ionia is where old man Yasuo is fighting And Morgana and Kayle in Old Demacia (ca a 1000 years before our current timeline) So it's just a bunch of stuff happening to characters all over Runeterra. Idk if that makes sense to you
@@vermentiderat4424 It does, thanks) I take it that LoL universe has become quite vast over the time and Arcane has shown just a small snippet of it, revolving around the most promiment and recognizeable characters.
@@kamchatmonk League lore is to a point where you can go and enjoy exploring and researching it completely independently from the game and have a great time if you're in to that stuff. They've done a really good job with it
I love how they portray Kindred. It seems like she's not actually there, but when Tryndamere is close to death, she appears as the enemies he's fighting. When Ashe saves him, Kindred lowers her bow because it's not his time to go yet.
@@mongooseunleashed many if not all are way more badass in these cinematics than in the trailer ^^ for example even really liked playing nautilus his cinematic back in.. 2014? showed him how he should look and feel like but in the game he is even more goofy than kindred. But one of the most goofy champs are yuumi, new smolder, garen in vanilla skin and especially rammus and most Yordles but we all know yordles have to be goofy don’t know about the others tho. I just know that i would be a kindred main if she would look and feel like in this cinematic ^^
Even some of the more knowledgeable League players/fans have missed out on stuff in the cinematic. Kindred (Lamb and Wolf), the embodiment of death, actually appear in all three scenes, as they're all about a character facing death. Lamb offers the mercy of a single killing arrow to those ready to accept that their time has come, whereas Wolf relentlessly hunts those who would refuse to accept their own mortality. In the first scene, Kindred can be seen in the wave of fire that engulfs Aatrox (the demonic guy) before the scene transition, as the human he's inhabiting is killed. The characters he's battling are Kayle (with the white wings) and Morgana (with the purple wings), twin daughters of the Aspect of Justice. The second is about Yasuo, in a future where he's older and wiser, and ready to accept the merciful death of Lamb's arrow having saved the village from marauders. The third is Tryndamere, a Freljordian king, envisioning himself fighting Kindred while he uses his ult (a last-stand ability that prevents him from dying for a handful of seconds) to fight the enemies surrounding him. Kindred retreat as Tryndamere's wife, Ashe (the archer) arrives to take out the last two enemies, who would have landed the killing blow had she not arrived in time to save her husband. Honestly, this might be the most lore and context sensitive cinematic of them all, and I have a hard time deciding whether Still Here or The Call is the best League cinematic to date.
I absolutely got Tryndamere vs Kindred and how sweet it was for Ashe to break through the "hallucination" and save her husband, but I missed so much with Yasuo and Morgana/Kayle. It is wild how packed this cinematic is with lore. It probably is my favorite with Awaken following it because Jhin was such a good representation in that cinematic.
@@1Arrowkill1 There's also the amazing interaction when Morgana forgoes using her half of their mother's sword to use her own powers, and how Kayle looks down on her for it since she believes those powers are beneath their purpose. Morgana's powers are rooted in the suffering of those who cry out for justice, whereas Kayle's powers are all about righteous judgement and punishment, and more closely mirror their mother's powers.
I think Kindred's presence in the fire is more of a reflection of Aatrox's lore. The fact that no matter what he does, death is not coming for him. This, in turn, gives context to Tryndamere later. He IS fighting Kindred as he gets close to death. His undying rage is a result of blood magic due to his encounter with Aatrox. He was given a similar trait but he CAN still die.
@@hazamax2139 iirc as long as Tryndamere is fighting he can't die? Like, he CAN die, just not in combat. Makes everything as literal as it gets: by not accepting death (Kindred and her arrow) wolf will always hunt him, and by fighting off Wolf, Tryn fights off death. Which is his whole schtick.
Knowing even a little bit about lore definitely improves the experience for me. Like the last scene with the wolf and all? The masked archer with the wolf is Kindred, and she's basically death? Afaik? So it's Tryndamere facing death. And she lowers her bow because Ashe (who's his waifu btw) comes and saves him from the actual danger, the warriors from the beginning. So cool.
Pretty much, the fight is kinda metaphorical. Trynd sees himself literally battling death, while he is actually fighting the bandits surrounding him. Though there are implications Kindred was really there, since he ends up with a claw mark on his shoulderpad and he went straight for Lamb as if he tried to swing at the Reaper itself, which surprised them ala the curious head tilt.
lamb and wolf are known as kindred (1 being split into 2). They are essentially the concept of death. tryndamere was surrounded by bandits and kindred was basically metaphorical as it was his time to die. Tryn's ult though is being literally too angry to die (see the red eyes). He fights long enough for his wife to show up and save him (his eyes fade from red to blue so hes not angered anymore) and kindred knows its not his time to die anymore. Think similar to the pus and boots movie lol Super top tier cinematic.
Not quite, the archer is lamb. The lamb and wolf together are known as Kindred Also, people keep saying that they are the embodiment of death or death itself and that’s just not true. They’re spirits of death that come to claim lives that are at their time but they are not the only ones.
Yeah Kindred is the lamb and the wolf and they're spectral beings that embody death. One of the cool things represented here is the lamb fires her arrow to give the dying a peaceful death whereas the wolf comes for those that refuse to die quietly. That's why Kindred fired those two arrows at Trynd and was curious when he attacked it. His undying rage kicked was fully on display when he smashed the arrow and shouted, and the wolf got ever more aggressive as they fought. Kindred was also in all three stages of this cinematic. The wolf was in the dark of the arrow rain that ended yasuo, and if you notice he bows his head to accept kindred's arrow for a peaceful death. And in Kayle's righteous fire you can see kindred for a moment, as she was there to collect Aatrox's host
It's a fun game if you only play once in a while and don't take it too seriously, especially if you play with friends. Everything around the game is better than the game itself though.

All abilities: 0:41 (the silhouette), 1:56 (the silhouette in the fire), 3:07 (the wolf in the trees and the single white arrow) Kindred innate ability: Kindred can mark anyone she believes is about to die. For every marked target she kills, she gains a permanent stack of damage, lifesteal, and range 1:37 Morgana's ult: summons chains around her that will latch onto all enemies within range. they will sap the health of all enemies while slowing them, eventually doing an additional burst of damage and stunning them. 1:52 Kayle passive: when she levels up high enough (specifically level 16 out of 18), all basic melee damage turns into wide-spread long-range waves that inflict magic damage and critical damage 2:44 Yasuo's ability: Yasuo can summon a wall of wind that will block projectiles 2:54 - 3:01 Yasuo ability: Yasuo can dash to any enemy in range. this has a very short cooldown so you can dash through multiple enemies in a single attack. 3:00 Yasuo's ability (check his left arm): while attacking people , he gains an stack of Storm 3:04 Yasuo ability: once he has gathered enough Storm, he can unleash a tornado at range to stun enemies it passes through 3:16 Tryndamere ult: He gains some Fury (the more Fury he has, the higher the critical damage) and for a short while, he cannot die. for Lore reasons hes fighting Kindred, the god of Death. so it makes sense everytime he activates his ult hes fighting death in his mind 3:27 Kindred ability: she turns the immediate area into a hunting zone. while in the hunting ground, Lamb (the furry white archer) gains bonus attack speed while Wolf(the big black wolf) will attack everyone within the zone. It sometimes heals her. 3:41 - 3:46 Tryndamere ability: he does a spinning slash that gains additional Fury for every enemy it passes through 3:46 Kindred ability: she can leap-dodge in any direction and shoot a flurry of arrows. this has a really short cooldown time while shes in her hunting zone 3:49 Tryndameres passive ability (the red eyes): the less health Tryndamere has, the more damage he does. 4:01 Ashe's basic attack: shes an ice archer, she shoots ice arrows 4:13 Tryndamere ult and passive (the eye colors change): after his ult ends and hes no longer taking damage, he loses all his fury. 4:21 Ashe ability: she shoots a magic hawk that will grant her vision of nearby areas
I think it's the best part of the cinematic actually, is that you can understand on your own what they are, unlike retired won't kill anymore future Yasuo and 2 sister in growing resentment facing a doom threat in the past.
@@Pixi_Plz Kindred does not need an ASU or VGU, but when they will, I hope they use the version in this cinematic. I want Wolf to not be just a companion or smoky head, I want the full big boy and give him some belly rubs.
So basically, Trynda was fighting againts kindred but remember that Kindred its basically death. So Trynda was fighting against death until his wife showed up to save him, that's why kindred stopped attacking, Trynda was no longer fighting death since Ashe got there in time to help him.
He's fighting the soldiers and death(Kindred) at the same time. When he enters his berserk form, he becomes immortal, so any deadly blow from the soldiers that should've killed him or wound him fatally, is denied, hence why kindred fights his spirit, to claim his soul because no one should be allowed to cheat death. Ashe found him and killed the two soldiers, thus evading death and making Kindred dissapear.
@undercoverspy123 If the soldiers attacked Tryndamere after his ult ended, either he'd be clawed to death by Wolf or shot by Lamb. Tryndamere was about to die, and met Kindred. He accepted death, so Lamb shot him. Because of Aatrox's blood magic, Trynda was unable to die, and kept fighting the soldiers, while seeing visions of death. Because Tryndamere fought death / was unable to die, Wolf attacked him, this is likely what will happen to Sion when he dies. Because Ashe shoots the two remaining soldiers, Tryndamere stops his ult, and Wolf stops attacking him. From the fact that he still has a claw mark, it's implied that he would've died if the fight continued. (Literally having a mark of death on his body) It's questionable if he is unable to die like Aatrox.
I personally loved the "zoomer" and "shit music" comments. I picture most of his viewers as greasy, unshowered metal fans that play WoW, drink sodas and eat Doritos all day long, while criticizing everything that they don't personally love cause it somehow makes them feel better for a moment. @@DoctorStrange01 I loved the 'STONG WOMEN VS TOXIC MASCULINITY' with Kaylve and Morg vs Aatrox. You have to understand, the last CGI they got was 2 guys talking about their traumas, one sitting down and one standing and that was it, and then they got the "friendship" ending
Explaining what happened in this cinematic. This cinematic is about time and death. The cinematic have 3 moments: The angel vs demon scene happens in the past. The old samurai scene happens in the future and the barbarian fighting at snow happens in the present. The archer spirit and its wolves that you see in the snow scene are Kindred, the most powerful being in League of Legends. It is basically the Grim Reaper of this universe that only shows up when the time has come to someone. Althought you can clearly see them (Kindred is referred to in the plural) in the last part of the cinematic, they also appears when Kayle (the blonde angel) attacks Aatrox (the demon) while Morgana (her twin sister, the brunnete angel) is exausted on the ground, in form a silouete in the flames. In the future part, the Kindred also show up as Yasuo (the old samurai) closes his eyes accepting death before being hit by a rain of arrows. You can see the white spirit arrow from Kindred going straight to him. In the present moment is where the cherry on the cake is. The barbarian with a giant sword is Tryndamere and his ultimate skill is the ability to resist death for a few seconds. In game, he basically continues taking damage, but never drops bellow 1hp while the ult is active. You see him fighting the Kindred wolves, but it is just his vision. He is actually fighting this horde of human warriors surrounding him, taking hit and resisting death (resisting Kindred) as he tries his last standing. Kindred aim their arrow to him but stop from shooting when the two arrows from Ashe (the white haired archer queen) saves him from the last 2 enemies behind him. Kindred lost their purpose to catch Tryndamere as they saw that his time hasn't come yet. I love the detail of Kindred tilting the head looking at Tryndamere after dodging his attack, intrigued because the barbarian is fighting the death itself and this fact took the attention of this powerful godlike being. Trully a nice touch. This video is a master piece.
@@haimjusthere2859 Aurelion Sol is actually the second one. Like the music name "Still here", Kindred are timeless and eternal. They were the first being and will be the last one. They takes away everyone when the time is come and even gods have their time. When gods dies, Kindred are there to take them. When the universe has born, Kindred were there. When the universe ends, when every god and mortal dies, it will be Kindred who will close the door.
The cinematic is really good, this is a "lore accurate" cinematic However, the cinematic for the MMO has to be "inviting" for everyone, not only people who know the lore, similar to the warlords of draenor cinematic
@@jeanmahmoudventilateur3480 the thing is, you will never be able to convey the full depth of characters, world events etc only through cinematics, if you want a deeper understanding of the characters you meet I believe being able to read something about them is more than acceptable. That is how the lore for league happened in the first place, they added interactions in game between characters which resulted in people being interested in learning more so there are also biographies which they can read for each character.
Trynd fighting Kindred off from pure rage is so fucking badass. If they don't flop the MMO its gonna be amazing because the world is there, the characters are there, the lore the soul, just don't fuck up the gameplay man
i wonder what the minimum scope of the mmo should be in the beginning... What if they release it for like 3 months as like "act 1", then put away the game for like 6 months, then come back for another 3 month event. Or they could maybe do the Path of exile thing and bring a major update every quarter. 3 month long event with new balance, new mechanics, some incremental improvements to the overall game, new zones and a gimmick for the duration of the 3 months (Monster hunter season, tower defense season, rogue like season, autobattler), then every winter a full endgame expansion, major improvements to the gameplay variety overall, a new boss, continuation of the world timeline (or maybe going back?), and bringing back a polished version of previous 3 month events into the game in minor ways. They can vary between small scale storylines and large ones, like maybe one season it's about just the fates of how piltover progresses, then another season it's about cosmic events. All seasons incrementally move the game forward to stack more and more content. But all bosses should be balanced around the same level. AND i think that people should be limited for what items they should be able to bring into a new season, or after a season is done all their items get like 80% weaker, or power capped. So that each 3 months you can come back and it's an event, everyone is hyped and everyones playing for like 3 weeks, then the game dies down and goes into hybernation. During those 3 month releases, you can coordinate sales of little bullshit things that people end up actually buying, like idk, a useless candle pet, or some visual gimmick, like a cosmic home instance.
Jusst imagine when we get to help azir/reneketon/xerath and their armies! The war on ionia and noxus! Random portale bosses from bandle city! How insane is this mmo gonna be! And we are DEFINITELY getting exclusive skins for that game as well!
at the same time even if the game isn't the best, it doesn't make the lore any worse. so the soul of the interesting world is luckily all there. So Arcane can just get better and better if they do more shows based on the story.

Kindred was so absolutely godly in this whole cinematic. You could feel the majesty and undesirability they represent. And her curiousness when a mere mortal refuses their power. This is what we want to see Riot.
Ice arrow girl shot the barbarians that the longsword guy was fighting in the start. The longsword guy was fighting the mask guy and the big wolf because they are the embodiment of death and the ultimate ability of the longsword guy is not dying, so he was basically fighting the embodiment of death while he had activated his ultimate ability, while he was also fighting the barbarians.
you can also say that the "embodiment of death"-,kindred, also saved the barbarian, tryndamere, cause her ultimate works like that. so basicly noone could die until Ashe came.
@@pitifruitTryndamere was made immortal after being stabbed by Aatrox. Kindred is confused by Tryndamere not dying after her bow breaks she tilts her head. Kindred did not personally come for him. The Kindred come for those close to death, as they are the embodiment of Death. They are omnipresent, and can appear in more than one place at once. Her arrow represents a swift and merciful death if you accept it, while Wolf's jaws represents the brutal and bloody one if you reject dying. His 'ult' is nothing like in game. His rage is what draws the blood magic active, that was given to him by Aatrox after he slaughtered his home tribe. It didn't 'run out', he was relieved to see his wife save him and the Kindred leave his side, as they sensed it was no longer his time to pass on. That's why his eyes change back to their normal color, the magic fueling his unnatural strength and regeneration, which did save him from dying, stopped flowing through him.
So many hidden details, I love it! ❤ For those who are wondering, this cinematic portrays death in general, executed by the champion "Kindred"(Lamb and Wolf). "The arrows of the lamb promise a swift demise to those who accept their fate. The wolf pursues those who flee from their end, delivering a brutal conclusion with its crushing jaws." In the fight against Aatrox(the demon) at the beginning, we can see Kindred in the flames at the end, who tries to collect the death of Aatrox. Then Kindred shows on Yasuos(the samurai) death. We can see the wolf showing behind the rain of arrows, led by the arrow of the lamb. The wolf does not completely show tho, because Yasuo accepts the death by the lamb. The wolf only shows if there is resistance to death. Exactly this resistance is shown in the battle against Tryndamere(the warrior at the end). Tryndamere almost dies in the battle against the soldiers, so Kindred shows, to collect his death. He on the other hand, does not accept it (his ultimate ability that denys death/ blood magic). This is the reason the wolf shows up as well. After Ashe(warriors wife) saves Tryndamere from his near death that would have been delivered from the enemy soldiers behind him, Kindred vanishes and Tryndamere escapes death. Ashe in fact did not even see Kindred. Kindred only shows to those, that are about to die. It is an awesome cinematic, if you can see the hidden details. EDIT: Another cool detail is Kayles(the angel) disgusted look on Morgana(kayles sister), after she used her cursed magic. Kayle detests this unholy magic.
I haven't followed league lore in years, so I was more amazed at the sight of Kayle and Morg actually working together more than anything else. In current lore did they make up or something? How could those two possibly work together?
@@Balderdash1000 The cinematic is split in three parts: past (Morgana and Kayle vs Aatrox), Present (Trynda vs Kindred) and future (Yasuo vs npcs plus Kindred). Kayle and Morg were fighting together because the shown scene happened long ago when they weren't the rivals they are today.
@@playz7 Ok. Got it. Thank you. It's been a long time, so I thought Morg's fall happened at the same time as her black wings and the separation with her sister.
Just pointing something out, morgana's magic is not cursed. It's just magic. Her disgust comes from Morgana not using the powers inherited from their mother as aspect of justice and resorting to "normal magic", something that Demacia (where the fight takes place and where they live and protect) was created to stand against. Also, morgana takes off her helmet because demancian armor and (eventually) buildings absorb magic and were made to fight against it. Lorewise Morgana is actually pretty relatable and makes A LOT more sense than her sister TBH, but her looks makes everyone thinks she's crazy. The crazy one is Kayle.
To add to that with aatrox kindred only watches form a far because aatrox is immortal. And with trynadamere lamb keeps attack because a part of him wishes to accept death but he keeps on fighting it.
Yeah lol players keep saying this but the game has the biggest numbers of players for any MOBA game and it's not even close, so are they sadomasochistic for playing it? Probably 😅
@@raphaelantoine7331 Self-fulfilling prophecy. People, specially kids, gravitate towards games that are the most popular, because to them, those games hold more meaning, and are a better way to spend their time than a game that is "dead" or "dying." Even if they would realistically enjoy other types of games, or even other MOBAs more.
To see Yasuo old tells us that players have already grown old and characters grow old with us. Trynda fighting death itself inside his ult is speechless, as soon as Ashe is about to save him, Kindred lowers his bow as to say: You get to live for now...
That is future yasuo, as confirmed by interview. And kindred already knows how it goes which is why she lowered the bow. They regularily have fighted like this - notice how trynd is not at all surprised to see the god of death kindred when he awakens in the death realm
they're one of those people that want rock and metal in everything and have an over obsession with masculinity i saw someone here in the comment section saying they want rock and metal and the music is gay
To all the absolute pepegas (although they don't know so I can't fault them that much) in the twitch chat, the reason there is no blood in Yasuo cinematic is because NOONE IS ACTUALLY GETTING CUT. Look at how a wind aura covers his blade as he fights and how his first weapon was a damn stick. He doesn't want to kill anyone, The last guy he knocked out of the rain of arrows coming towards him (actually saving him).
CONTEXT FOR EACH OF THE CHARACTERS: Scene 1: The Past Morgana (Purple) and Kayle (White) are sisters whose mother was chosen to be the Aspect of Justice. When she gave birth to the twins, she later passed on her divine blade, now split into two - one half for each sister. While Kayle accepted this responsibility with open arms, looking up to be like her mother, Morgana began to see the devil's advocate side of things, questioning if it was truly justice to make the morally righteous atone for crimes they had done before. The two grew up during the founding of Demacia (the city behind them during the fight). The most important thing to know about Demacia is that it places a ban on all magic (since magic tore the founding family apart), and Morgana has magic capabilities. In this scene, the two fight Aatrox, an immortal being sealed within a sword. Those who pick up the sword are quickly transformed into Aatrox's image and subjugated. In short, he is immortal until disconnected from his blade, at which point his soul returns to it. Secretly, he wants to die, but cannot. Morgana drops her half of the blade in this fight, fully utilizing magic, which signifies the role she chooses later on in the actual game. Kayle picks up the other half, looking disgusted at her sister, signifying her role in the game as the sole bearer of their mother's legacy. At the end, when Aatrox is burned, you can see a still figure in the flames (We'll get to her and her coworker later...) Scene 2: The Future This is Yasuo after he's grown old. He chooses to not use his wind abilities at first due to his poor history with it, choosing instead to fight with a simple staff, a nonlethal weapon. You see in the scene that every single enemy he takes down - even when he eventually picks up the blade to defend the town - is nonlethal. He chooses not to kill, forgoing his past life and actions. In the arrow storm, one of the arrows glows a bright light, signifying Yasuo's heroic sacrifice Scene 3: The Present Tryndamere is a warrior who was once struck with Aatrox's blade, granting him a curse - in his rage, he cannot be killed. Ashe (the woman at the very end) is Tryndamere's wife. And now for the star of the show, who shows up in each and every scene (especially the last one): Kindred Kindred is a two-creature hunting team and the League universe's interpretation of Death. Lamb represents the welcoming side of death, offering a swift and painless end with her bow to those who accept it (like Yasuo) Wolf represents the unforgiving brutality of death, hunting down those who choose to run from their mortality - even if they don't mean to (like Tryndamere)
The Call was a brilliant cinematic. If they're doing a similar parallel action sequence thing, I think it needs more structure. I loved the lore and the animation but I would prefer more short story driven cinematics. This felt like we just jumped from scene to scene and didn't get enough of any. I want more of aatrox, I want bloodshed and some real emotions flowing.. It was nice but just felt like it lacked a core element
@@kiss-shotacerola-orionhear220 nah, it feels all over the place. The call felt so well structured and a lot smoother. This feels like they're trying to recreate what they did with the call after the disaster last year. I'd just prefer we get one complete story line if this is the alternative. It's just to admire the beautiful animation and they threw in some lore.
@@HiranoMagu Jesus relax, it's my opinion. I don't think it even comes close to the call. If you guys like it then awesome. Yes it's structured the same but a shittier version. Exactly, kinda reminds me of how wow cinematics changed over the years. Started out badass and with a theme, and now the action is watered down and it just serves to showoff graphics while nothing is happening (thrall and anduin cinematic).
LoL lore has nothing to do with the game - I've been playing for 12 years now and I have no idea what's the meaning of this video (besides recognizing the characters)
man people do be different. Chat calling the music trash, and I think its pretty good. Sure its not legends never die good but not every league song has to be this girl screaming to the top of her lungs with passion lol
The amount of people who did not understand that Tryn fighting Kindred was him battling against death and Ashe came in at the last second to save him is insane like how are none of these streamers putting that together?
Everyone talks about Tryndamere fighting off Kindred when he's in his Undying Rage, but not enough people talk about pre-fall Morgana fighting side by side with her sister, Kayle, with both sisters wielding the two halves of their mother's sword. Then when they're both clearly outmatched, Morgana taps into the power that her sister deems as a "weakness" (hence the side-eyeing) and ultimately is able to restrain Aatrox for Kayle to land a decisive strike.
The last one, with thats Tryndamere. He has this ability called "Undying Rage" He is actually fighting enemy soldiers. But at the same time fighting off death ( yes, the one with bow and wolf is called Kindred, the Death of League universe ). Kindred left since Tryndamere is no longer near death after Ashe arrived. And oh, Ashe is Tryndamere's wife.
I'm still mad that league abandoned their original lore of all of the characters having been ripped from their home worlds to fight in an arena to settle geo political disputes of a world they're not from. And that was like 2 years after launch.
Ye, I thought the title of the cinematic was hinting at the players / fans that are 'still here' supporting league or something. I like that they lean more on storytelling using subtle hints that players will notice like the abilities and char. interactions. While those who enjoy the lore will spend the next few days watching this on repeat.
I wish I was a league player. I've seen other people's reactions to this cinematic and they're so hyped, and I just don't get it because I have no fucking clue what's going on.
i mean nothing in the game gives you any clue whats happening here or why its awsome beside yourself playing one of these champs and being exited that they are in the cinematic. The lore is mostly shortstorys and a short describtion of the champions. But yes i can recomend becoming invested in this world "Runeterra". But not to play the game😆
So basically Tryndamere (the badass guy fighting the wolf) has an ability where he just can’t die for awhile (shown by his eyes glowing red) the lamb and the wolf creatures are death manifested, wolf being a gruesome death and lamb being a peaceful death. Him fighting death there is just a metaphor which is why the creatures randomly disappear once the girl joins Tryndamere and he’s out of mortal danger.
More or less. It implies that his ult is literally him fighting off death through sheer fucking will@@StripedCreations

How every cinematic should be. Lore heavy
They aren't just random clips, they represent past(kayle, morgana and aatrox), present(tryndamere) and future(old yasuo)@@fredq6118
@@kamchatmonk There are a lot of different regions in Runeterra:
Demacia.
Freljord.
Ionia.
Noxus.
The Shadow Isles.
Bilgewater.
Targon.
Zaun and Piltover
Since Arcane is placed in Zaun and Piltover they don't know the characters in the cinematic here.
Freljord is where Tryndamere fights Death
Ionia is where old man Yasuo is fighting
And Morgana and Kayle in Old Demacia (ca a 1000 years before our current timeline)
So it's just a bunch of stuff happening to characters all over Runeterra. Idk if that makes sense to you

Honestly, this might be the most lore and context sensitive cinematic of them all, and I have a hard time deciding whether Still Here or The Call is the best League cinematic to date.
thanks, i couldnt figure out who purple kayle was
I absolutely got Tryndamere vs Kindred and how sweet it was for Ashe to break through the "hallucination" and save her husband, but I missed so much with Yasuo and Morgana/Kayle.
The lamb and wolf together are known as Kindred
Also, people keep saying that they are the embodiment of death or death itself and that’s just not true. They’re spirits of death that come to claim lives that are at their time but they are not the only ones.
@@Dyrvegai mean they did come for everyone here
Yeah Kindred is the lamb and the wolf and they're spectral beings that embody death.

1:37 Morgana's ult: summons chains around her that will latch onto all enemies within range. they will sap the health of all enemies while slowing them, eventually doing an additional burst of damage and stunning them.
1:52 Kayle passive: when she levels up high enough (specifically level 16 out of 18), all basic melee damage turns into wide-spread long-range waves that inflict magic damage and critical damage
2:44 Yasuo's ability: Yasuo can summon a wall of wind that will block projectiles
2:54 - 3:01 Yasuo ability: Yasuo can dash to any enemy in range. this has a very short cooldown so you can dash through multiple enemies in a single attack.
3:00 Yasuo's ability (check his left arm): while attacking people , he gains an stack of Storm
3:04 Yasuo ability: once he has gathered enough Storm, he can unleash a tornado at range to stun enemies it passes through
3:16 Tryndamere ult: He gains some Fury (the more Fury he has, the higher the critical damage) and for a short while, he cannot die. for Lore reasons hes fighting Kindred, the god of Death. so it makes sense everytime he activates his ult hes fighting death in his mind
3:27 Kindred ability: she turns the immediate area into a hunting zone. while in the hunting ground, Lamb (the furry white archer) gains bonus attack speed while Wolf(the big black wolf) will attack everyone within the zone. It sometimes heals her.
3:41 - 3:46 Tryndamere ability: he does a spinning slash that gains additional Fury for every enemy it passes through
3:46 Kindred ability: she can leap-dodge in any direction and shoot a flurry of arrows. this has a really short cooldown time while shes in her hunting zone
3:49 Tryndameres passive ability (the red eyes): the less health Tryndamere has, the more damage he does.
4:01 Ashe's basic attack: shes an ice archer, she shoots ice arrows
4:13 Tryndamere ult and passive (the eye colors change): after his ult ends and hes no longer taking damage, he loses all his fury.
4:21 Ashe ability: she shoots a magic hawk that will grant her vision of nearby areas

So basically, Trynda was fighting againts kindred but remember that Kindred its basically death. So Trynda was fighting against death until his wife showed up to save him, that's why kindred stopped attacking, Trynda was no longer fighting death since Ashe got there in time to help him.
he was fighting the warriors on the beach in his ult but saw death and when the last 2 soldiers get killed by ashe death isnt close anymore
Only the dying person can see Kindred, so when the tables turned and Trynda wasn't gonna die, Kindred disappeared.
So is he undying or is kindred going to make him die? Kinda written into a corner.
(Literally having a mark of death on his body)
It's questionable if he is unable to die like Aatrox.

The cinematic is really good, this is a "lore accurate" cinematic
However, the cinematic for the MMO has to be "inviting" for everyone, not only people who know the lore, similar to the warlords of draenor cinematic
Yeah, pretty sure the MMO will have back stories in it to explain
@@almightyraven8220 they would need some cinematics to explain the story because people do not read, wow is the best example for that

And later she realizes that Tryndamere won't die and that's why she lowered her bow. Also at the end of every scene kindred shows up which is pretty cool. Kayle - In the flames, Yasuo - right before he dies we see kindred's arrow and the wolf in the forest.

@@MrRafagigapr Well yes and no. League used to be more fun in first 5 seasons (AP yi, sion, feral flare etc). Riot made esports BIG, making every championship better. So they had to balance champs like ap yi to suit it better to competitive gaming. So in a way league aint what it used to be, but it is better in other ways. Now they keep it working and focus on other projects which is ok.
Problem with League is that in the early days the community loved them. With more focus on rankeds ppl got mad over trolls. Riot instead of punishing trolls punished those who flamed them. Community got mad and became toxic even more. Things like summoner showcase, nikosaur, phreak thats what community loved.
Old League is long gone now. But it had to go. What an amazing interaction. Kindred who is basically the god of death has personally come for Tryndamere whose ultimate ability with those red eyes is be be unkillable. Each time he stops the arrows and tanks the beast is a time he was supposed to die. As Tryndamere’s ult runs out Kindred shoots the killing blow but is saved by Ashe… Kindred’s fog of certain doom clears and he survives. That was brilliant
For those who are wondering, this cinematic portrays death in general, executed by the champion "Kindred"(Lamb and Wolf).
"The arrows of the lamb promise a swift demise to those who accept their fate.
The wolf pursues those who flee from their end, delivering a brutal conclusion with its crushing jaws."
In the fight against Aatrox(the demon) at the beginning, we can see Kindred in the flames at the end, who tries to collect the death of Aatrox.
Watch Necrits break down on this, Asmongold. You will appreciate it much more. There is so much lore detail in this cinematic.

He doesn't want to kill anyone, The last guy he knocked out of the rain of arrows coming towards him (actually saving him).
LoL was pretty crap, but after watching Arcane I'm pretty interested in the MMO.
CONTEXT FOR EACH OF THE CHARACTERS:
Scene 1: The Past
Morgana (Purple) and Kayle (White) are sisters whose mother was chosen to be the Aspect of Justice.
At the end, when Aatrox is burned, you can see a still figure in the flames (We'll get to her and her coworker later...)
Scene 2: The Future
This is Yasuo after he's grown old. In the arrow storm, one of the arrows glows a bright light, signifying Yasuo's heroic sacrifice
Scene 3: The Present
Tryndamere is a warrior who was once struck with Aatrox's blade, granting him a curse - in his rage, he cannot be killed.
Ashe (the woman at the very end) is Tryndamere's wife.
And now for the star of the show, who shows up in each and every scene (especially the last one): Kindred
Kindred is a two-creature hunting team and the League universe's interpretation of Death.
Lamb represents the welcoming side of death, offering a swift and painless end with her bow to those who accept it (like Yasuo)
Wolf represents the unforgiving brutality of death, hunting down those who choose to run from their mortality - even if they don't mean to (like Tryndamere)

Riot puts out alot of mid stuff these days because they know they have enough of an audience that'll lap it up. I just miss the old originality and ingenuity
Exactly, kinda reminds me of how wow cinematics changed over the years. Started out badass and with a theme, and now the action is watered down and it just serves to showoff graphics while nothing is happening (thrall and anduin cinematic).
NGL this cinematic was really good IMO, im not a LoL player. i know very little about that game but this got me teary eyed in an excitement kinda way
LoL lore has nothing to do with the game - I've been playing for 12 years now and I have no idea what's the meaning of this video (besides recognizing the characters)
@@kamiz0 I guess you haven't read a single lore.
did i mention lore though?@@kamiz0
there are so many cool shows they could make from the LoL lore that would just be fucking nuts
10/10 cinematic made 7/10 cuz of the song
man people do be different. Chat calling the music trash, and I think its pretty good. Sure its not legends never die good but not every league song has to be this girl screaming to the top of her lungs with passion lol
I just want metal or rock or something not so gaee
music is amazing dk what people talking about
We aint getting any further than pentakill :(@@stagthechainsawbeserker3926
@@stagthechainsawbeserker3926 Lemme introduce you to PENTAKILL! 3 albums, all bangers, all metal
Breathy indie shit just sucks.
Imagine if LoL had this type of lore depth and combat and was story driven instead of what it actually is
?
Everything looked amazing but the coreography was kinda boring in my opinion, not hating just saying.
Asmon will watch the Necrit breakdown video next to understand it, that's how this usually goes.
Best part is when Sylvannas saved Lo'Gosh from the vulpera guy!
the footage at the end LMAOO editors yet again putting on blast lets gooo
Cant wait to see him watching the lore explained behind the new cinematics by Necrit 🔥🔥
is so crazy how lol cinematics always make me so emotional this one in particular had me tearing up the whole time so crazy how powerful videos can be
The amount of people who did not understand that Tryn fighting Kindred was him battling against death and Ashe came in at the last second to save him is insane like how are none of these streamers putting that together?
Everyone talks about Tryndamere fighting off Kindred when he's in his Undying Rage, but not enough people talk about pre-fall Morgana fighting side by side with her sister, Kayle, with both sisters wielding the two halves of their mother's sword. Then when they're both clearly outmatched, Morgana taps into the power that her sister deems as a "weakness" (hence the side-eyeing) and ultimately is able to restrain Aatrox for Kayle to land a decisive strike.
"totally unrelated footage" cracked me up.
Necrit explained this cinematic frame by frame
It you want to understand what's happening, that is.
Editor be calling him out with the “unrelated footage” lmao
Chat going "zoomer music" and "children music" makes my brain hurt.
Asmon saying how he feels about League cinematics is how I feel about WoW cinematics. I wish the game was like that
I'm still mad that league abandoned their original lore of all of the characters having been ripped from their home worlds to fight in an arena to settle geo political disputes of a world they're not from. And that was like 2 years after launch.
I love these editors, it's perfect.
It's too bad he didn't get to watch the Tryn/Kindred/Ashe part with context. REALLY cool in context.
Necrit explanation video is out
this one is way less normie friendly, its not as flashy but if you understand the lore it hits harder than the previous one
Ye, I thought the title of the cinematic was hinting at the players / fans that are 'still here' supporting league or something. I like that they lean more on storytelling using subtle hints that players will notice like the abilities and char. interactions. While those who enjoy the lore will spend the next few days watching this on repeat.
For a quick minute, I was convincing myself I was seeing Arthur Morgan in the thumbnail.
Average Twitch chat experience, they complain and say how shit it is until Asmon says how good it was and they immediately switch up
So basically Tryndamere (the badass guy fighting the wolf) has an ability where he just can’t die for awhile (shown by his eyes glowing red) the lamb and the wolf creatures are death manifested, wolf being a gruesome death and lamb being a peaceful death. Him fighting death there is just a metaphor which is why the creatures randomly disappear once the girl joins Tryndamere and he’s out of mortal danger.
The shade from the editor could block out the sun.
