I like the way the car looks, 16v, with all the specs, I would believe you would be around 190hp..
the 8v comes 115hp stock, Mines is modded, haven't dynoed yet but I should be about 140hp now, no intake yet. Wanted to go turbo with kinetic but I will now stay N/A and go with Jenvey!

IT may well be 193 Bhp i don't know Gti engines that well. but it doesn't seem to go well in this video.. Is he changing gear early.. I can hear the cams fitted are pretty wild by the tick over, which says to me a high rev limit especially with the ITB's.. so is he just not giving it full beans in this video ? i hope you understand i'm not trolling, i'm interested.
You are right, this sounds more like standard and just exhaust tuning.
193BHP is the fly wheel figure.

Just a word of advice to some n00b at the bottom of the page, if it was a 1.4 it wouldnt have silver door handles, gti spoiler and gti badges.
also on the job front im in a 3 way partnership @ lakeballs. importing golf balls from the usa and canada doing well on e bay ,now what do you do i cant wait to hear

@dsvarups sorry i should of said i didn't reckon it was that! no just that the 106 my dad had was a 1.4 180ish bhp and it wasn't slow at all.. is yours throttle bodied?

Guy.. If you want to reply stupidly to someones post, try and do it with 1 month as least, so they know what your talking about.
And the 8v cross flow comes 115hp, I would know I have one as done work to it. That is with standard compression. Do your research, matter fact look at my video and then get back to me.
And the silver car in video has way more than 93hp, WTH are talking about.
@dsvarups better than putting the spec of it up take it to a dyno and film it showing the spec on the computer screen and if its 193bhp at the wheels not the flywheel i will donate £100 to any charity you choose

End of the day the 106 gti "tuned" properly.... not "modded" is a very quick little car, along with great handling.
I have some very good friends with over 400bhp in a gti and videos of them on track tearing up evos and cosworths.
