It seems that the skins system of Monster Hunter Rise that is arriving in march 2021 is a brain new one based on MHW system + the older of the previous games... REALLY HYPED !

    • @CasualHunterFelix
      @CasualHunterFelix  3 года назад +3

      Hey there! In MHW and Iceborne we can use individual pieces of layered armor. So ya you can get the look you want by mixing different pieces of layered armor together (e.g, head piece from monster A, arms from monster B, legs from monster C etc.). There are some layered armors (e.g., those from the Witcher 3 series and Street Fighter Series) that need you to wear all 5 pieces together, but there are only very few of them. Hyped about Monster Hunter Rise too!

For the Kushala layered set that you want, if you are looking at making the master rank version, you will need the following
      Tempered Steelwing x5: obtained by hunting tempered Kushala in the guiding lands
      Daora Hardhorn x3: obtained by breaking Kushala's head in non-guiding lands quests

Moreover non of the other Master layered armours shows up in my list... Do I have to get the Masters Edition MHW to get the Monster based armours?

    • @CasualHunterFelix
      @CasualHunterFelix  Год назад +1

      Hi there! You don't need the Masters Edition to get the monster based layered armor, as I believe that the Masters Edition only gives you the additional layered armor sets and cosmetic items from the deluxe editions. The issue you are facing is strange, and I am not 100% certain why no master layered armor sets based on monsters are showing up on your smithy. Perhaps you can try to get all the materials necessary to make the Legiana master rank layered set first, then see whether it appears on your smithy. All necessary materials are:
      Tempered Icehide x5
      Legiana Mantle x1
      Spiritvein Solidbone x3
      Guiding Reef Dragonbone x1
      I am hoping the reason that you are not seeing the layered armor in your smithy is that you are missing maybe the Guiding Reef Dragonbone. Let me know what happens and all the best to your hunts! :)

    • @CasualHunterFelix
      @CasualHunterFelix  3 года назад +8

      Hi there! Yes it's not too clear how to unlock the master rank layered armor. I think they can be divided into 2 types. 1) event layered armor where you get by doing event quests or participating in festivals to get tickets and 2) monster layered armor where you need to hunt the monster in the guiding lands to get their unique materials that can only be found in the version of the monsters in guiding land. In the video, you can see the list of materials. The very first material is the one you need to have to unlock the layered armor in the smithy. This first material is usually (but not always) the material you get from hunting the monster in the guiding lands. To make it a bit more complicated, this first material is usually from the tempered version of the monster. Whether the tempered version of the monster appears in your guiding land is dependent on your MR level and the levels of the 6 regions of your guiding land. I can give you more specific info if you can let me know what MR level you are at. Hope this helps! :)

    • @CasualHunterFelix
      @CasualHunterFelix  2 года назад +1

      Hi Marqini. Don't worry your question is normal because the process of unlocking layered armor in iceborne is more complicated. To unlock layered armor of specific monsters, you need to unlock the guiding lands, which is done after you have cleared Shara Ishvalda and then continue to clear some cutscenes. Monsters in the guiding lands give unique materials that you don't get in hunting the same monsters in normals quests. You need these unique materials from the monsters in the guiding lands to unlock their layered armor. To make things a bit more complicated, there are tempered and non-tempered versions of monsters in the guiding lands. You usually need the materials from the tempered version of the monsters in the guiding lands to unlock the master rank version of their layered armor. Hence in sum, to unlock layered armor, you need to unlock the guiding lands and hunt the specific monsters in the guiding lands, and you need to hunt the tempered versions of the monsters if you want to unlock the master rank version of the layered armor. Hope this helps! Let me know if you need more info 😊

      Hi there! Yes all the armor shown in the video are accessible in the master edition. You will need to unlock the guiding lands to access most of them. You can unlock the guiding lands after you beat the main story boss, at around master rank 25 or 26. However, there are 2 sets of armor and layered armor (the horizon zero dawn collaboration armor sets) exclusive to the playstation. But they are not very good looking. So if you are not playing on the playstation, it's ok as they wouldn't be missed. Haha.

      Hi Thomas! To unlock the layered armor (to be able to see it in the smithy), you usually need to have the first material you see in the list for that armor. For the fatalis armor, the first material is Research Commission Ticket+, which can be received by doing certain quests. You can refer the this link to see which quests give Research Commission Ticket+ monsterhunterworld.wiki.fextralife.com/Research+Commission+Ticket++

    • @CasualHunterFelix

      Of course that's just the first material, so you also need to have the other materials listed to be able to make the layered armor. Usually the other materials are from the Guiding Lands. Guiding Lands is an end game area that you unlock after clearing the story (killing Shara Ishvalda), which you will encounter at around MR 22 or 23. In the Guiding Lands, you will be able to gather special and unique materials from the land and also from the monsters there that will allow you to unlock more layered armor and craft them.

    • @CasualHunterFelix

Generally, there are 2 groups of layered armor: 1) event/festival layered armor and 2) monster layered armor. For the event ones, you will need to do the relevant event quests. For festival layered armor, you need to do any quests or hunt monsters in the guiding lands during the relevant festival period to get the relevant festival tickets. For the monster layered armor, you usually need to hunt the monster in the hunting lands. Then you will need to level up either the wildspire region or the volcanic region of the guiding lands to level 7 in order to hunt tempered Teostra in the guiding lands. But you will need to be mr100 before you will be able to level up guiding land regions to level 7. The broad step by step approach would be to clear the story (kill Shara Ishvalda) to unlock guiding lands, then increase the mr of your character. At certain mr (49, 79, 99 I think), there will be certain key quests unlocked for you to clear to progress and increase your mr further. Once you are mr100, level up the wildspire region or the volcanic region of your guiding lands to 7 so that you can hunt tempered Teostra.

    How you even unlock them? by killng and killing the monsters?

    • @CasualHunterFelix
      @CasualHunterFelix  6 месяцев назад +1

      Hi there! Yes it's not too clear how to unlock layered armor. I think layered armor can be divided into 2 types. Feel free to let me know if you need more specific info. Hope this helps and thank you for dropping by and supporting my channel! :)

      Hi Jonathan, welcome to sailing with the 5th fleet! Some of the layered armor are from events, some are from festivals, but most are from gathering monster parts in the guiding lands. For the event layered armor, I think all event quests are available at all times now. For the festival layered armor, they are on rotation every 2 weeks (2 weeks with a festival, 2 weeks without festival, then 2 weeks with a different festival etc), so you will have to wait a short while for each festival come around. For the layered armor based on monsters, you can unlock them after you cleared the final story boss of iceborne and unlock the end game area called the guiding lands. Hope this helps and let me know if you have any questions. Happy hunting! :)

      @CasualHunterFelix  2 года назад +1

      Hi Genis. Welcome to MHW! Sure. If you have just started playing the game, the only layered armor sets you can get are those from the event quests. If you want to unlock all the options shown in the video, you will need to finish the story of Iceborne, which is in master rank. You start the game at low rank, then progress to high rank, then progress to master rank. This can take quite many hours. After you have finished the story of Iceborne, you will unlock the end-game area called the guiding lands. You will then need to hunt the monsters there to unlock their respective layered armor set. Hope this helps. Let me know if you need more info! :)

I actually missed a few layered armor pieces in this video because a new event quest was added last Thursday (A Brute Tigrex Event Quest) and it comes with a few new pieces of layered armor. I will upload a video around 5 to 6 hours later to show all craft-able master rank layered armor again. But I don't think the new armor pieces will appeal to you as they are just 1) a less buff version of the current Buff Body Gamma +, 2) a Penguin headpiece, 3) Claire Redfield's full costume and 4) a cool looking scarf. The scarf is probably the best looking one out of all 4 sets.
