The number of the perfect ISS counters in this run alone is more than the number of the ones in my 300 hours safe file, and I call myself a longsword main... lol
You download the mod manager, download the mod packs, drag the packs to the manager, click install. Plenty of videos out there that will walk you through it. Takes 2 minutes to do.
Foresight is literally the only move besides special sheathe that you can do out of helm breaker. I wouldn’t rely on it, though, as the time it takes to recover enough to foresight is like triple the time to get to sheathe, and the window is pretty tight. That being said, it is technically the fastest way to get your spirit level back.

I think what you are referring to is this: After the Special Sheathe you can press Triangle/Y to do the Iai Slash. If any of the two hits connect with the monster, your meter will charge automatically for a while
you need iceborne dlc to do this, or maybe you are referring to the sheathed LS charge in rise, if so, you cant charge the LS attacks in iceborne like GS
it doesnt consume energy if it's a perfect counter, the timing is tricky but you have to iai slash just before the monster makes contact with you. tons of videos talking about it but you can practise in the training area till you get the rough idea.
after you install the mod. you should see it on the kulve taroth weapon. and actually my sword is from fatalis but I replaced the visual with layered augments

Respect for the video because it shows great skill. But honestly I'm a casual player with LS, I play around with all its moves, sometimes I literally play like it was MHFU, making the whole combo or inserting some normal slashes in between. I also use all the other skills, alternative between them making new weird combos, or get some slinger ammo and use them between spirit combo moves. I'm sure I'm way less efficient than this but the fight is more fun to watch honestly. If I get so skilled I kill mobs this efficiently with only 2 moves I might just quit the game or try another weapon. I love LS the way it was in MHFU and MHP3, unpopular opinion but I like the additions that made more combos possible, like how you can go from 1 move to another is smoother than before, but the timing moves that fill the gauge quickly and do so much damage kinda not that fun, even though I know it's hard, I rarely pull that off and it makes it special, but you're so skilled you make it look so easy and boring to use.
I also am LS main from Freedom , i like the old playstyle. but on this particular boss he attacks so much and so fast it's like the counters were made for him and constant spamming of them to this rate is only possible on him I think . I never used foresight before barioth personally tbh, But I highly encourage you to try it it's really going to make it so much more fun.

It’s possible. You can foresight slash out of helm breaker. As long as you still have spirit, that is.
