The last weeks the MM has been really hard, its like im not playing for the purpose of "having fun", im trying really hard to get my win ratio to the normal rates that i had (52- 55%), sometimes getting tilted in the process
I unlocked the P.44 yesterday and felt exactly the same. I got like 35% wins, not just because of the regular 'stock tilt' but the MM was a b*tch to me. Most of the times i got +2 MM so i couldn't influence the battle much, but even if i could, it wouldn't matter because most of my games ended with something like 2-15. My favourite was when a 279e obliterated us while our 60TP platoon did 700dmg combined.
And there are times were you briefly think that the game is rigged when you find out you are amongst the two best players on your team, stat wise. And you are only slightly above average and the top player is only slightly above you, and worse, after you, the third "best" is a literal tomato with a rating of barely over 3k. And the rest of the team is either barely over 3k, or under 3k rating (using WoT's rating system here as I do not use thinks such as xvm). Meanwhile, the enemy team has a literal unicorn with a rating of over 11k, 3 players with ratings similar to your own, and the rest of their team sits in the 4k rating range. To give you a better idea, my team's average was roughly 3420, while the enemy team was roughly 5640. My team was stomped so damn hard, it was not even funny. Now, mind you, those are rough averages, with an easy give or take away of up to 400 both ways.

yeah we seriously need mm based on the Personal Rating. So fcking sick of 3k noobs who think they are already good enough for tier X. And there should be a minimum personal rating requirement for playing tier X.
This video really boosted my spirits man. I've been really struggling the past 2 weeks to not tank my win-rate. It feels like no matter how hard I try it's loss after loss and the only wins come after I get killed too fast. It's good to know you have those kind of weeks as well.

It makes perfect sense it was specifically AMX 13 F3 arty, who almost sneaked up on QB. That arty for quite a long time was my most favourite one exactly for being able to do tricks like this and even chasing down LTs sometimes.

This is really one of those rare occasions where there is very good communication and team work, its really a fine example of it, My battles on the other hand is more of a "Leroy Jenkins" compilation... 3 to 4 tanks just blindly charging in and getting killed with in 3 minutes of the round starting and then the inevitable "Rage" from those tanks against their team mates...
To me the game seems to have gotten a bit too fast with all the autoloaders. It’s often over before you get a chance to change flanks or move position and make a difference. It’s not the matchmaker as such, there’s just so much more to think about. Missions, crews, modifications,equipment, and then you have to be able to keep track of so many more tanks and their characteristics when fighting against them.
It seems like WOT games have one of two outcomes nowadays. It's either over in 2 minutes because even heavy tanks are incredibly fast now, or it's an endless stalemate where hull down monsters with zero weakspots go up against each other. And now you can't even use HE to damage those tanks so it's just like being parked forever.

110% brains. Most players focus on kill and damage for themself instead of going to help the team. 90% of them dont use minimap and if they go to a location, they are unable to relocate.

I’m a longtime scrub in WoT and I must say that the MM is just about as botched as it was the same time last year. Lol! I hardly ever look at my personal stats but I know that they’re trash in comparison to a lot of you who watch these videos. We all have those games that just grind our gears, right? It’s such a refreshing thing to see a low level tank actually providing critical support to their higher tier ally. Just remember to repeat this to yourselves while you have those frustrating matchups. “Not today, Wargaming! Not today Match Maker!” And remember to laugh at yourself a little and to compliment the enemy on a well played game. Because sometimes, you are against players that are just better than you. Hey QB, just a cool video suggestion would be a full map review for all the maps in the game, like where to go in your heavy, lights, tds etc. I want to try to learn light tanks but I find myself not knowing where to go on certain maps. Just a suggestion. Thanks!
this would be great! in fact, a masterclass for individual maps would be good. As a fairly experienced player I feel I know where to go in most tanks but there are always surprises and new locations to explore
QB has explained on twitch why he won't do map reviews- changing metas, changing maps, time it would take etc... there are other map reviews out there though :)
I am using this time of game to mark my 122 TM I got from marathon, becouse people don't play it well, so it's requirements dropped a bit and many people expect 122 TMs to not know how to play that tank and not have crew for it
The mix of players and play styles is part of the difficulty of this game - some are there for competition, some are there for fun, some are there to learn, some are there for the Hell of it. You can never tell what you're going to get on your side or the opposing side and have to be ready for anything. This video shows how you can buddy up even outside a team and accomplish more during any game. Frustration is a big part of the WoT experience and as such it is a character building exercise. Probably sells a lot of liquor too as a human can only take so much!
This is the primary reason I can't wait for the PvE mode in World of Tanks. Sometimes I just want to grind my tech tree without having to play like an Esports Pro.
Most people I know and myself included have the same experience as you. The games are extremely chaotic and unpredictable and it's harder than ever to make your skill as a player matter. Also, you say to not worry too much about winning, but it's mainly about the way that the games unfold with the constant stomps that make the gameplay itself feel frustrating. And what's even sadder is that I'm 99% sure that WG doesn't care about this problem or have an idea on how to fix it.
Seems like im gonna grind to leo pta over the holidays. It might not be the best timing to play paper tanks considering the calibans. I got the m48patton and half the field mods now & Leo pta is an interesting line aswell
I'm finding that some players concentrate more on mission goals than the battle at hand ... they will try to hit the 2 Medium tanks required by a certain mission instead of the task at hand ...
it feels so weird to see players responding to you in game, it never happens to me i feel like im playing with deaf players, never communicating never planning, just go in and die and thats what makes the game harder and harder
His name tag surely helps. If I had QB in my game and he wanted me to do something, I sure would do it. I'm confident that his decision making is better than mine. So if he needs me to do something, I'll do it immediately, regardless of whether I understand why or not. If random Joe Schmo wants me to do something though ... I'd need to understand that it's actually a good idea by myself first.
love watching your content QB i think the lifetime win ratio in wot is the biggest single reason a lot of ppl do´nt like the game because it results in ppl flaming you if u have low win rate and played badly again. the game is not about fun but about performance. and the content creators are a big part of this process by using best equip, maxed crews, premium consumables and loading the gold most of the time. as someone who has a lot of tanks to unlock and equip, i do enjoy watching to improve my play. but i do´nt feel truly represented because with my possebillities (and my lack of skill) the same plays just wont work most of the time. and every time wg change the game, like with field mods, the distance between those who have it all and the newer players becomes larger.
I feel like in this holiday ops, I have had so many games with my team being absolutely terrible and the enemy team just crushing mine in very little time, that I don’t even bother completing all the daily missions

First of all, many thanks for your video QB, I feel exactly the same, playing on SEA server, MCM is quite outrageous, many battles we cannot do anything. Mainly I am playing in platoon to be able to make teamwork effective, but at the end, most of game in higher tiers are very hard and unconsistant.... I even prefer to play tiers 5 to 7, at least I am still able to carry the game....

The game has been a real struggle, as you have mentioned. With the Quickybaby going through the same thing, of course on a different level, it renews my energy for the game.
Today and yesterday were horrible mm. So many tier IX battles in my tier VII IS-2... And a mean like 60-70% of the battles were against tier IX, where its so hard to do anything
I'm glad you understand how painful this grind can be. But imagine you are playing stock tanks in that exact situation. It just sucks that you cant even carry a bit most of the time

Communication is key. Yesterday I was pressing help every possible second, spamming the chat as possible and I managed to win 90% of those games. And here I was thinking players press Help without any clue what is going on around them seconds before they die. Learn from me, press Hellp all the time, spam it and you will win.

Biggest frustration for me is trying to get my X3 bonus. On losing teams I have good damage, on winning teams I always seem to be out of position and get off like one shot.

WoT is the most frustrating game ever. It can be a rollercoaster of emotions. I have stopped playing, because I sometimes end of being in a bad mood, if I had a bad run. I try to tell myself it's a game, but when it gets competitive, it's hard to turn that off. Still love your videos QB
QB, very pointed. After 16 months off, I came back. It is still broken: 3 tier matchups, P2W, ridiculous premium and award tanks. I won’t do clan wars, since I am too far behind on award tanks. I've mentioned it countless times, I feel strongly that WoT needs a commander type system where one player (maybe the one in the match with the highest PR? And he or she would need to volunteer for it) can command the team. The players don't have to listen but could also be rewarded for following orders. I don't know the details of how to reward them or the exact mechanics of commanding, but this game has matured enough and with enough exceptional players that having an actual battlefield commander that is given a few more command-level options to lead his or her team could get the teamwork into WoT that I think we all want. Just my opinion...

WG forgot to add QB into their updated preferred MM list ... welcome to WG's "stats balancing system" ... for average Joe, like me, it is very normal, that WG drags you down when you start doing too good. I would suggest to start sharing screenshots showing performance stats along with win ratio over such periods.
The rush of OP T8 tanks made a ton of people only play their OP tanks. I know some who nowadays only play the premium Škoda, Chieftain, 268 v4 and obj 279. It is very boring to play against OP tanks all day.
I begun 2021 with 51.2% winrate. And today I am sitting around 50.35%. And I have had more frustrating losing streaks than winning streaks. Since the final 2 weeks of Battle Pass Season 6, I'm averaging 30% per day. I have XVM installed almost always and many times I often noticed MM putting all the strong players on one team, and while the other team usually only have 2 or 3 half decent players and the rest are needless to say in the red zone or near red zone. And of course, the types of tanks are so balanced too. An classic example is the stronger team has T95/FV4202 or Obj 279e while the weaker team has a T110E5 or E100. No wonder battles end in 5 minutes nowadays.
Same here. I’ve been having 4-5k damage games that still result in loses because of how unbalanced our teams are. Post game I definitely can confirm the imbalance of player skill between teams
The worst difficulty is that RNG. I think it is more influential than it should. There are times that I hit the most impossible shots, but most of the times I can’t hit a mountain in 50m.
I recon that The games at tier 5-10 Area getting really fast and often end like 3-15 and end in like 5 minutes. The meta seems so fast paced and games Area such rofflestomps that they usually are not that enjoyable.
The Caliban is pretty difficult to play well consistently. I can certainly see how players can throw games in them even without actually being bad players. The Skoda is op, but that makes you overconfident. So, when pushing the limits, I can also see how that can make one throw games. Heck, I've overestimated what that thing can actually do at least twice in my last 5 games ...
Skoda doesn't usually throw games though, its just that great of a tank, so long as you ain't an overly aggressive player, it usually helps you win games.
i think that the MM is related to your X-max bonus... If you have it maxed out or near max well WG won't let you stack up those creds before Black Market
with the 15:5 simulator, it feels like I have no real influence on my win rate, I'm just an average casual player and can't carry when everybody on my team starts dying
I have also had the worst losing streak ever in the last week. But my Win8 during that time is not much lower than before, although definitely slippage in some stats. This is the only game where sometimes I seem to be getting worse instead of better at it. Even with my moat winning tanks. Very odd.
today i got in a teir 10 match, and i was going up against a chieftain and a 279(e) and the only reward tank i had on my team was a bloody carro 45 T. that got to be fare right?
mistake many ppl make in wot is that its a 1 vs 29 game. so many people are bots and just bad bad. as long as you do consistent good amount of damage you should be able to get at least 52% win rate
IMO with the holiday patch, more casual "weekend" players are playing both WoT and WoWS every day, so there is more variance. Sometimes that variance just works against you and puts you on a loss streak or gives you more losses in general. Great video and mentality though :).
@@JimmyKip well, weaker players don't make a big difference if you play many games, I have some loose in a row but every month, i manage to do between 60 and 70 % winrate almost every month so weaker players aren't a big deal imo and so, the matchmaker isn't that bad too

I get one really good match and win then I know I will be in for at least eight to ten really crappy matches til I get a descent match again. The takeaway from this video: QB - with all the P2W advantages you could possibly want (gold ammo, bond equipment, premium consumables etc), and as a highly skilled player who can expect to carry his team - goes through patches where his win rate is abysmal. This illustrates the problem with World of Tanks; the objective should be to win games, but the matchmaker is the biggest determinant on whether you do or not.
when i started playing wot i was very young, and had no idea how to play. I played 2000 battles with a 41% wr. My worst days now have a 48% wr but still have a 47% wr because of how bad when i started. The same goes for my damage. Used to average like 300, no average in 1000, still at an average of 700.
I agree that the match maker has been gross the last week or so. I am getting 33 to 40% wins some days, even getting really good games in, team is melted and dead in the first 3 min and nothing I can do would change that.
I love the Strv S1 and Im not a particularly good player, I would rather say I'm on the better half, but my last 300 games got 60% winrate and I'm pretty proud of that. Games got more difficult but also I feel like we got more possibilities to actually play WoT like chess and BEING GOOD at making decisions really helps nowadays.

@@micuna5743 That already exists to some degree. Several events were PvE ... and there are some beginner modes as well already.
Most people I know and myself included have the same experience as you. The games are extremely chaotic and unpredictable and it's harder than ever to make your skill as a player matter.
Also, you say to not worry too much about winning, but it's mainly about the way that the games unfold with the constant stomps that make the gameplay itself feel frustrating. And what's even sadder is that I'm 99% sure that WG doesn't care about this problem or have an idea on how to fix it.

I'm finding that some players concentrate more on mission goals than the battle at hand ... they will try to hit the 2 Medium tanks required by a certain mission instead of the task at hand ...
it feels so weird to see players responding to you in game, it never happens to me i feel like im playing with deaf players, never communicating never planning, just go in and die and thats what makes the game harder and harder
His name tag surely helps. If I had QB in my game and he wanted me to do something, I sure would do it. I'm confident that his decision making is better than mine. So if he needs me to do something, I'll do it immediately, regardless of whether I understand why or not.
If random Joe Schmo wants me to do something though ... I'd need to understand that it's actually a good idea by myself first.

i think the lifetime win ratio in wot is the biggest single reason a lot of ppl do´nt like the game because it results in ppl flaming you if u have low win rate and played badly again. the game is not about fun but about performance. and the content creators are a big part of this process by using best equip, maxed crews, premium consumables and loading the gold most of the time. as someone who has a lot of tanks to unlock and equip, i do enjoy watching to improve my play. but i do´nt feel truly represented because with my possebillities (and my lack of skill) the same plays just wont work most of the time. and every time wg change the game, like with field mods, the distance between those who have it all and the newer players becomes larger.
Meanwhile me: trying to get good teammates not noobs

I feel like in this holiday ops, I have had so many games with my team being absolutely terrible and the enemy team just crushing mine in very little time, that I don’t even bother completing all the daily missions

First of all, many thanks for your video QB, I feel exactly the same, playing on SEA server, MCM is quite outrageous, many battles we cannot do anything. Mainly I am playing in platoon to be able to make teamwork effective, but at the end, most of game in higher tiers are very hard and unconsistant.... I even prefer to play tiers 5 to 7, at least I am still able to carry the game....

The game has been a real struggle, as you have mentioned. With the Quickybaby going through the same thing, of course on a different level, it renews my energy for the game.
Today and yesterday were horrible mm. So many tier IX battles in my tier VII IS-2... And a mean like 60-70% of the battles were against tier IX, where its so hard to do anything

I'm glad you understand how painful this grind can be. But imagine you are playing stock tanks in that exact situation. It just sucks that you cant even carry a bit most of the time
Communication is key. Yesterday I was pressing help every possible second, spamming the chat as possible and I managed to win 90% of those games. And here I was thinking players press Help without any clue what is going on around them seconds before they die. Learn from me, press Hellp all the time, spam it and you will win.

WOT is always like this around the holidays, it's all the dang Christmas critters.
Biggest frustration for me is trying to get my X3 bonus. On losing teams I have good damage, on winning teams I always seem to be out of position and get off like one shot.

WoT is the most frustrating game ever. It can be a rollercoaster of emotions. I have stopped playing, because I sometimes end of being in a bad mood, if I had a bad run. I try to tell myself it's a game, but when it gets competitive, it's hard to turn that off. Still love your videos QB

I've mentioned it countless times, I feel strongly that WoT needs a commander type system where one player (maybe the one in the match with the highest PR? And he or she would need to volunteer for it) can command the team. The players don't have to listen but could also be rewarded for following orders. I don't know the details of how to reward them or the exact mechanics of commanding, but this game has matured enough and with enough exceptional players that having an actual battlefield commander that is given a few more command-level options to lead his or her team could get the teamwork into WoT that I think we all want. Just my opinion...

WG forgot to add QB into their updated preferred MM list ... welcome to WG's "stats balancing system" ... for average Joe, like me, it is very normal, that WG drags you down when you start doing too good. I would suggest to start sharing screenshots showing performance stats along with win ratio over such periods.
QB said lootboxes are not as good as previous years.. so WG showed that QB is actually not so good of a player.

The rush of OP T8 tanks made a ton of people only play their OP tanks. I know some who nowadays only play the premium Škoda, Chieftain, 268 v4 and obj 279. It is very boring to play against OP tanks all day.
I begun 2021 with 51.2% winrate. And today I am sitting around 50.35%. And I have had more frustrating losing streaks than winning streaks.
Since the final 2 weeks of Battle Pass Season 6, I'm averaging 30% per day. I have XVM installed almost always and many times I often noticed MM putting all the strong players on one team, and while the other team usually only have 2 or 3 half decent players and the rest are needless to say in the red zone or near red zone.
And of course, the types of tanks are so balanced too. An classic example is the stronger team has T95/FV4202 or Obj 279e while the weaker team has a T110E5 or E100.
No wonder battles end in 5 minutes nowadays.
Same here. I’ve been having 4-5k damage games that still result in loses because of how unbalanced our teams are. Post game I definitely can confirm the imbalance of player skill between teams

It is weird, my leo was almost always in tier 7 even 6, only recently that starts a nonstop parade of tier 8, such a massacre.

I would guess that 50% of players in a typical battle don’t read the battle chat messages and don’t consistently look at the mini-map.

The worst difficulty is that RNG. I think it is more influential than it should. There are times that I hit the most impossible shots, but most of the times I can’t hit a mountain in 50m.

I recon that The games at tier 5-10 Area getting really fast and often end like 3-15 and end in like 5 minutes. The meta seems so fast paced and games Area such rofflestomps that they usually are not that enjoyable.
The MM has been crazy lately. however I don't notice the 122 throwing games for win/losses. Its the caliban's (for good or worst) and the skoda's.
The Caliban is pretty difficult to play well consistently. I can certainly see how players can throw games in them even without actually being bad players.
The Skoda is op, but that makes you overconfident. So, when pushing the limits, I can also see how that can make one throw games. Heck, I've overestimated what that thing can actually do at least twice in my last 5 games ...
Skoda doesn't usually throw games though, its just that great of a tank, so long as you ain't an overly aggressive player, it usually helps you win games.

i think that the MM is related to your X-max bonus... If you have it maxed out or near max well WG won't let you stack up those creds before Black Market
with the 15:5 simulator, it feels like I have no real influence on my win rate, I'm just an average casual player and can't carry when everybody on my team starts dying

sometimes I seem to be getting worse instead of better at it. Even with my moat winning tanks. Very odd.

your spg players did really good teamwork there.
mistake many ppl make in wot is that its a 1 vs 29 game. so many people are bots and just bad bad. as long as you do consistent good amount of damage you should be able to get at least 52% win rate
IMO with the holiday patch, more casual "weekend" players are playing both WoT and WoWS every day, so there is more variance. Sometimes that variance just works against you and puts you on a loss streak or gives you more losses in general. Great video and mentality though :).
If the matchmaker worked, more weaker players wouldn't make a significant difference to your experience or win rate.
@@JimmyKip well, weaker players don't make a big difference if you play many games, I have some loose in a row but every month, i manage to do between 60 and 70 % winrate almost every month so weaker players aren't a big deal imo and so, the matchmaker isn't that bad too
My win rate and the RNG, I have fought with since I joined in 2013. I get one really good match and win then I know I will be in for at least eight to ten really crappy matches til I get a descent match again. Sorry to say this but you having what is my norm is nice to know that some one else is having the same trouble.

Dude I’ve had the worst teams ever in the last week, I played my JPE-100 yesterday, played 11 games, lost 10 of them. The most donkey teams.
I guess ur damage is quite a lot, right? usually winning the game means no damage for slow TD. (at least in my cases)

So, yes, the teams have been hot garbanzo on a dumpster cake this week.

The takeaway from this video: QB - with all the P2W advantages you could possibly want (gold ammo, bond equipment, premium consumables etc), and as a highly skilled player who can expect to carry his team - goes through patches where his win rate is abysmal. This illustrates the problem with World of Tanks; the objective should be to win games, but the matchmaker is the biggest determinant on whether you do or not.
It averages out though, so theres no point of raging over it. Play the game for fun anyway.

The problem is grinding tanks and you have basic equipment so have decided just to use the fully loaded tanks I have and this helps my win rate
when i started playing wot i was very young, and had no idea how to play. I played 2000 battles with a 41% wr. My worst days now have a 48% wr but still have a 47% wr because of how bad when i started. The same goes for my damage. Used to average like 300, no average in 1000, still at an average of 700.

I agree that the match maker has been gross the last week or so. I am getting 33 to 40% wins some days, even getting really good games in, team is melted and dead in the first 3 min and nothing I can do would change that.

Before the holiday season, my 30 day win rate was 60%, but my win rate for the past 2 weeks is only about 50%.
I love the Strv S1 and Im not a particularly good player, I would rather say I'm on the better half, but my last 300 games got 60% winrate and I'm pretty proud of that. Games got more difficult but also I feel like we got more possibilities to actually play WoT like chess and BEING GOOD at making decisions really helps nowadays.
