funniest thing - I disconnected all connectors from the ashtray module, with the last bit I was removing being the bulb.. and the moment I disconnected that sucker the car went absolutely haywire, beeping, lights flashing, etc. Doesn't seem normal.
Mazda's do weird things when certain bulbs are disconnected. Removing the glovebox one on mine (and other peoples) makes the dash go blink wildly and beep beep without the key inserted unless the foglights are set to the on position. Some LED bulb replacement in various areas do similar odd things. All I can think is that Mazda for some crazy reason decided to use bulbs instead of resistors in the wiring chain.
@@SteveFrancesco that's exactly it. Why spend money on a resistor when a suitably sized light bulb will do, especially if you were going to have a bulb around there anyway? Especially makes sense for the cheaper cars (2, 3, 6) that are produced in large numbers. Every saved cent helps... Doesn't mean I'm happy about it :)
Thanks man. Helpful video 👍👍
Hey thanks man for making the video, helped me out a lot 👍
Thank you for this video, helped me a lot.
Can’t remember the bulb size, but got mine at the auto parts store. They sized it up properly for me. Good luck.
What size is the bulb?
W3W, I'm pretty sure

Sounds like a Poltergeist! Did you have the key off?
@@robbysturgis I did.. I'm suspecting a wiring fault.

Didn't know there was a light there
The music is too loud to hear you clearly.
You should turn music up a little louder
Bmoremusic haha, sorry about the music...the movie maker added it too loudly. Lessons learned. Hope you got something of value from the video.
