Awesome footage of an amazing view of nature's force. Looking at it we're glad we turned around when it was going off. The ash would have been kryptonite for our asthmatic crew member. Looking forward to you showing us what we missed across the top of Sulawesi. Cheers R & K
Thanks. Yeah I guess there was no way to know at that stage if the eruptions would continue. We didn’t film much at all across the top and down the west coast.
I remembered your 2 day treck up a volcano a few years ago. Yes its good to be reminded of the scale nature works on., amazing the vegetation grows back in a few years. I wonder if there's plans for the 900 residents to ever return ? Great drone shots, like the alien angles and vistas. Would love to see a 360 of any of the slideshow.
Thank-you guys for the very sensitive way in which you exposed the scale of the damage. So interesting, so devastating for the residents of the island.
Wow. Thank you for showing the devastation. So sad knowing that so many have be displaced and lost their home's, and I'm guessing their livelihoods. Loved the snap shots.
thanks! Yeah devastating for sure. This island has erupted multiple times in the last 200 years, each time people come back eventually. Short memories I guess.

Vernon, Marie and little man ELI this was a great video. You captured the destruction extremely well. How unfortunate for these islanders to lose their homes and businesses. Vernon was there any loss of life? It's true mother nature rules this precious planet of ours. It can be an absolutely beautiful place and also an extremely dangerous place. And Indonesia is in one of our earth's volcanic grounds zero. Earthquakes and eruptions are very common in that part of SE Asia (RING of FIRE) It is amazing though how natures starting to heal itself. Take care of yourselves cheers and thank you again for this amazing video.
J'y étais en 2008, ainsi que pulau Siau. Définitivement un hot spot d'Indonésie., mais aussi very remote. Pas vraiment le genre de coin dont on attend parler à la TV...

Yeah that was Dukono a few years ago with my brother Toby. A most excellent adventure that was!

Thanks mate. As far as the news media says, no loss of life.
@SailingLearningByDoing well, that's good news 👏 👍
Excellent photography. I hope the former inhabitants know that you were able to overfly the area and post the stills and video.
Thanks! I added a few tags to my instagram post of local places so I hope they will pick it up and share with those families.
Sh1t got real, just remember that nature is a mother and mother nature is a bitch. Thanks for the ride Vern.

Stunning and overwhelming... Take the snorkel out of your mouth when freediving. You can choke to death on water. Just a safety tip ;-) All the best!
