Very difficult getting to CJ due to a local level crossing accident. I thought nobody else would spot the coincident steam engine timetabling - but I was wrong. Everyone spotted it.
At 1.45 - Well, why is South West Trains using an express engine on one of its stopping trains??!! Seriously - two engines on the main line..... would be great to see somehing like a mini Plandampf one day. ***** :-)
@KINGANDCASTLE German term - when timetabled services traction is temporarily replaced by steam - usually for a few days. Fares at normal rates. Ethuisiast/ photographer groups get together & pay. Much cheaper to do in Germany. Timetabled Overlander in NZ is pulled by steam w/ends in the winter for part of way. If I lived in Europe, I would go to them.
