Bold of you to assume I'm getting smarter. I'm just getting dumber faster

for me personally, ive been focusing on replaying old games like mercenaries 2, star wars episode 3, battlestations pacific. But also bigger more polished, indie games like Gigabash.btw you have a really relaxing voice

Battlestations Pacific, what a great game. It seems like that kind of vehicle-focused game genre is all but dead today. Either have to play simulators (DCS, GHPC, Arma) or nothing 😭😭

Honestly now I always just pirate games and buy them later if they are good and are like $10-$20/on sale. That way I never waste money on bad games or games I don't ever play after like a day or two.

Hey, youtube did its own thing and recommended me your channel! What a pleasant surprise. Back to the topic of the video, yeah, I'm one of those gamers that used to play GaaS games and E-sports mainly but i got sick of it. I'll never ever be supporting a GaaS even if the game is fun or something. Is wildly shocking that people woke up and they're actually doing something to be against to this bad practices. Nice video, Imma keep watching the rest of your channel! 🎉

They fixed a lot and the game is fun now. The edgerunner anime got me to take another shot at it, and it was awesome

I waited to play CP2077 until version 2.1. One of my favourite games of all time now.

Gaming industry is going to exist, just as it continued to exist after the US console market crashed. And it largely was only the console market in the US that crashed, computer gaming kept on going just fine. If hollywood burns and crashes it does not mean that the movie industry is going to go away, but it will have far and wide consequences and it is not given that a replacement will emerge, like it did with gaming with the emergence of Japan dominated console market post crash.

The soulless AAA is not a sure hit anymore, no one wants to spend $70 on trash. Even the cod crowd can see it

Most of the impact right now is the macro oscillation from the pandemic boom; video games had a huge few seasons 2020-2021, both consumption and financing went into hyperdrive because the money printers had been unleashed. Now the market's gotten really tight, so spending and investment aren't there. It's a good time to be small and niche because those audiences persist through downturns.

idk about using BG3 as an example of gamers getting smarter, it just shows gamers are lining up to give money to Tencent for a game that wasnt quite finished. similar could be said about elden ring. Also these "smarter" gamers were lining up to buy Starfiled and Spiderman 2 recently.

Gaming will endure but we may see the end of the 500 million dollar blockbuster game if they don't change their ways but even I'm doubting that. Most people I work with who don't follow games just invest in the same Madden/COD stuff every year.
Kinda like how Nintendo saw success with Wii Sports so they decided to ignore their core audience and cater to waggle controls and casuals up until they realized those people weren't long term customers and the Wii U flopped.

They haven't been asking for a while. It's been threatening to name call and "cancel". Sad so many people listen to these loud obnoxious idiots throwing adult temper tantrums and keep encouraging this behavior

I have been gaming since the 1980's. I pay no attention to the AAA market anymore, it has no original ideas and its games dont interest me. The small studios and the indi devs are making the new and interesting stuff. Screw fancy graphics, show me good gameplay.
