omg yes it’s perfect as a bad snacks arp bloops machine
honestly a dream bloop machine
Lmao your Videos came right after one another
Prelude to Bad Snacks joining the "4 Producers.." pantheon?
@@SSquirrel1976 She did that in January 2019. ruclips.net/video/zvKY_DnM1PA/видео.html
@@SSquirrel1976 lol bro do I have some good news for you 😂
6:48: This forever please
It’s cool hearing how differently everyone uses it.
your stuff is soo chill, love it!
Very nice video, I like it very much. Certainly on my wishlist that Moog
Everything today has made me need to get one of these. DAMN YOU MOOG AND MAKING COOL STUFF
A lot of producer youtubers I watch got this sweet little toy, so that's pretty cool!
I always love a bad snacks video~
This thing looks epic! Thanks for the vid!
All the pedals I've looked into this week landed me on your page doing a demonstration of them, today I was like Ooooooooooooh! I'ma get me a moog! There ya are again, love your choice in gear = ). If I can't get my next "got to have this" fix, I undoubtedly will get to live vicariously through your videos
Great stuff, I really want one of these, they're so cool!
this video was perfect, loved it!!!
AAAA 4:08
I really like this video. Its got the "straight out the box" vibe.
Oh wow, loving the results, perhaps I'll wander into the twilight zone of modular someday, heh. Would love to hear a track built on some of the vibes in this video. Thanks for the review and demo!
this synth is so entertaining, it has taught me so much about music.
Awesome! she jumped into the rabbithole of eurocrack! excited to see more of this!
Really well done, thank you for this
This is extremely dope 🔥!!! I want one! omg. Love your channel and your music! Greetings from Colombia!
I've been really curious to hear more of it. Thanks for sharing some happy accidents
Oh, and hit record!
You dug kinda deep! After watching this video - I am considering a purchase. I have a Grandmother and a DFAM, but always wanted the Harmonicon. I listened to the entire session - very cool!
Welcome to modular - the endless abyss of possibilities and empty pockets :) Nice demo too!
awesome as always.
When I finally get my Subharmonicon (soon now; just have to sell some other gear) it will be your (and Jeremy’s tbh) video that I will be returning to. Thanks for the tips!
“Between two Ferns: Modular Edition” - sounding great✨!
Cant wait to see what you do with some modular!! Im excited. Lol
I love your video with plants, the music and the demo. Thx!
Thanks for providing this intro playground!
I feel like Bad Snacks music is the perfect mix of a large shot of Lofi with a pinch of Minecraft
sounds amazing.
The first video I watch which has something interesting and musical out of a subharmonicon will be the first.
Very well done, thanks!
Three requirements for youtube synth video: 1) wooden table; 2) cup of coffee; 3) PLANTS
Haha 😂 👍
I'm anxiety prone enough without worrying about all the spills
Why though
Lose the plants
This is a real bop.
sounds amazing ❤️😃🌈🧘🏼♀️ thanks for the music
Been planning to get one soon, actually with the Meris Polymoon delay that appeared at the beginning of the stream, now I’m positive. I’ll get both!!
Sounds great.
I love your textural narrative. I might have to get one.
Patch-bae
inspiring machine!
The way this started was so nice.
Selfishly hoping that you do end up getting into modular/semi modular synths so I get to see more modular videos from you in the future.
The Subharmonicon would obviously go really well with a Mother 32 and the DFAM. Also the Make Noise 0-Coast is a great semi-modular that you cant go wrong with and it excels as its own instrument with the help of a controller as well as integrating into a eurorack system nicely. Then there is the new Make Noise 0-Control which with the 0-Coast is a match made in heaven. Great tactile control yet more open ended than a keyboard allowing for a lot of creative options.
Moog really makes me wanna get into Hardware synths, they seem so cool!
Just prepare to say goodbye to all your money
*emperor palpatine voice*
Do it!
@@joshcook983 Yeah like $1000 for this unit rip. Only ones that makes them "cheap" are Behringer
Fossegrim Yep, and damn’ fine they are too. Got a TD3 and no fewer than three Craves, £500 the lot, and could probably spend the rest of my life and not explore all the permutations. Go on! Press that button!
James Corcoran tbh i feel like emperor palpatine uses soft synths ;)
Amazing⚡️
I am SUPER happy to see Moog finally expanding from the “super elusive Mercedes of synths.” The Subharmonicon brings a crap ton of modular coolness to Moog sound quality for a surprising price.
When this video started, I thought I might have accidentally clicked on a "Red Means Recording" video. :'D
Yesssss. More snackkkkss!
A happy accident machine. Great naming for this babe indeed :)
really cool
Great video Bad Snacks! I feel like I'm watching a Critter and Guitari tutorial!
Cool machine
Congratulations on your new synthesizer! These experimental synth videos can be quite enjoyable.
Some of you watching this might wonder about the "VCF EG AMT" (Voltage Controlled Filter Envelope Generator Amount) and its tiny minus "(-)" and plus "(+)" markings... Well, it can be quite confusing. When it's at the middle then the value is zero but there is no centering or even any markings at that point for some odd reason. When you turn it anticlockwise from its middle position, then it has a negative value. It's quite a peculiar design choice. It should be much more clear when the value is at zero.
As most of us probably know, the VCF Attack and the VCF Decay (also VCF Sustain and VCF Release, both of which are missing here) don't do anything at all if the "VCF EG AMT" is at zero. Then there's absolutely no effect to the filter's cutoff frequency. If the VCF EG AMT has a negative value, then it has an opposite effect to the AD(SR). Well, suddenly using an inverted envelope also makes this "a happy accident machine indeed!" :-)
Anyway, thank you for every music maker out there! I truly appreciate what you do. It's very enjoyable to see and hear when people enjoy making new sounds. That creativity inspires others as well and eventually we all end up having some wonderful new music. I wish you all the best. Take care, everyone!
Just got one! Once you get couple modules (think about LFOs and attenuating since there's none on the Sub) there will be nothing stopping you!
Pretty cool. I’ve got one coming next week. I think it will be interesting to explore the rhythms.
Fantastic! I particularly love what you do with patch starting at 8:05.
Great video
that reverb made it sing, if they make another version of this with the moog matriarch filters built in would be crazy
I was thinking about getting this for my first modular synth too :D
I need that..... Brilliant fun💯❤️
after watching this video, i went from wanting one to now really REALLY wanting one 😩
I bought this the day they released it. Cant stop turning it on, even if just for 3 minutes. I havent even paired it with the dfam or mother yet. Just fun by itself, and it gets tough with a midi keyboard. Real raw and gritty tones.
So will it b good to sample for hip hop n rnb and trap just went down this rabbit hole I already have dfam mother 32 and grandmother and just started learning how to use them been chipping at the mother 32 first I just felt like if I can understand how to use the mother 32 first itll make learning everything else a breeze no i don't need this right now but what im asking is this something i should consider purchasing or is it more of a novelty i would love to have your input since u said you have bout the same combination for awhile im guessing thanks again brother
@@boutstaxx Well, lets say you wont get it and instantly transform into Lisa Bella Donna. I think with any piece of equipment, you get what you put into it but with these semi-modular pieces, especially when you have more than one, you can get a lot more through exploration that I didn't truly feel with other gear. But there is also a ceiling which is not something you have with software. I mean, software can do EVERYTHING. I mean, i can enjoy 3 cookies, but id stop caring if I have infinite cookies. Unless you're the Cookie Monster or an ocean of milk. You know? So if your rockin the mother and dfam, just think of this as an extension as well as another universe to explore. It definitely gets gritty which is what i like. Even if i ditched the sequencer and just got down with the 2 VCO's and the paired subs, Its like having a mega-moog minitaur with patching options. Keep watching vids, maybe someone will be exploring it in a way that will push you over the line to purchase but I have no regrets.
That vibe at 5:15 - delicious!
I really like the look/sound of the sound studio 2. Been undecided on the Subharmonicon or mother32 but I think the Subharmonicon is the one that does it for me.
Yayyy a good demooo
nice. von trier. this demo is perfect. sold
Omg amazing
It's October 28. The days are getting shorter and it's foggy and damp and cool outside. I came to Bad Snacks for some cheering up and you came through!! If I COULD make a request, a new video from Bad Snacks about now would really help. I know it's not all about me, but just sayin'. Thanks.
Hey, it's my first time on your channel. Really good demo. Not to take anything away from the other videos released today, but I really liked that you let the machine speak for itself.
You forgot to demo the coolest thing this little box does, making polyphonic chords when you speed up the beat! 😆
The sight of you and your modular between two ferns is making me want to listen to Mort Garson's Plantasia album.
Omg thx I am listening now and smiling. Don’t know how I’ve never heard this.
there are 2 pothos, a small palm tree and maybe a Christmas cactus, but no ferns #plantnazi hahaha
Bruh that album is incredible glad someone else knows lol
I have a vintage model D, but I don’t understand these modular synths. How do you get melodies without a keyboard?
I'd love to try it
Cool machine :)
Nice song ! :)
Great demo sounds great with reverb. Cant decide whether to get this or dfam
you are by far the cutest wear reviewer on earth
Big fan from India
6:48 onwards was really nice and I think has finally turned me to buying one..
Wow, you sure picked a deep pool to dive into on your first foray into modular … mine was a Werkstatt 😅
Thank you
seems really great for those lumpy rhythms that you favor
🦉 Four sub oscillators! The angle you filmed it at gives me vertigo.
Nice vid, nice plants...hhx 🎼
Congrats Bad Snacks on your new toy. - Justice Constantine
I think what you had at 7:10 or just before that was my favorite. Also 8:07 was rockin
So nice, I would like to get one...!
"watch out Timbaland" 🤣 youre funny dope video
Simp
thanks!
hey check out the new Moog vocoder as well, its a lil pricey but still really sweet! i messed around with one recently. also has patching capabilities. and i wanted to ask if you are the one playing electric bass on some of your songs?
How did you RC-20 the video in the intro?
Very cool! It’s a shame it doesn’t have an audio in for running external sounds through those awesome filters...
It's like everyone on RUclips got one for free, except me. :(
The little melody at 06:50 was unexpectedly lovely.
Warm roundup sounding
ma'am, i would kill to see what you'd do with a whole eurorack
A happy accident machine, my dad must have had one... 😂 really tho you rock badsnacks
Your dad was Bob Ross? 😁
@@Yuzuki1337 hahaha perfect response lol
looks fkn sweet
Where that patch cable spaghetti?! lmao great stuff as always.
patch-bae
Is the sub 37 capable to create these sounds?
No joke, I have not watched this whole video because I just repeat the first 10 seconds over and over and over. I can't get over that understated but RICH tone of that percussive/somewhat melodic thing going on before the rest of the instrumentation jumps in. Crazy how such little substance can make you double check your bank account for a potential purchase lmao
Those plants look so healthy.
