same. i love the m32 and subharmonicon but am still not won over by the dfam. it just doesn't do it for me. but the subharmonicon just seems amazing. i don't know how much longer I can hold off buying. my hyperfocus and impulse spending is starting to overpower me on this one
Well done! I've been watching waaaay too many subharmonicon/dfam/mother videos (all 3 are on the wishlist) and this was one of the cooler ones I've come across. Further solidified how much I want this trio.
Snap, this seems to be the perfect 3 tier setup at the moment. Awesome patch great build and the sounds are really good but then Moogs are fantastic instruments. The M32 sounds particularly menacing, great swelling growl. The SubH is going to be a Moog classic I think.
Thank you! The recently been using the M32 more for sounds like that with a slow LFO on the filter. Regarding the 3 tier setup - it's such a great combination :) Although I decided to put the M32 at the front to make it easier to access the keyboard.
This is killer bro. I have a sub 37 and want to get into modular gear. Can this setup integrate with the Moog Sub 37 ? or is it designed for other modular gear? I am brand new to this world as I am a blues/rock guitarist and moving over to electronic music. Not sure what my next piece of gear should be. Any suggestions? And really nice piece of music. Totally dug it.
The Moog Sound Studio would be great with the Sub 37! In fact, I am about to get a Sub 37 myself, I think. It's between the Sub 37 and the Matriarch. I need some more bass, so I am kind of leaning toward the Sub 37. I use this Moog Sound Studio with my Moog Model D.
Well, I’ve had my SH for four days now. Going to have to sell a lot more gear before I can get the other two, but somehow a Behringer Crave and a Volca Beats just don’t cut it... Anyway, great work! Something to aspire to!
the Crave and the Mother 32 can do pretty much the exact same things, so unless you're sold on the form factor, nicer buttons and a VERY SLIGHTLY different waveform, you can hold off on getting the M32
This is by far one of the best jam I've seen of these units. That kick drum, damn, I love the tone and punch of it, is the sound itself from the DFAM and DB Impact only triggering it? All the drum sounds are ace, which are from the Arturia vs the DFAM? Very cool vibe, love it!
This is awesome! Thanks for sharing. How much confidence did you have during the performance that a particular action wouldn't completely kill the jam? It turned out great
Thanks! I guess medium confidence - I'd been kinda just jamming with the loop for quite a while before recording so I had a rough idea of the directions it could go in and a rough map of what I wanted to do in my head. Always totally possible it'll go to crap though 😂
Somehow, I am just now coming across this video. It is great! Do you ever happen to share your patches and settings? Do you have a Patreon page? Would love to try to recreate this sound or something similar with my Moog Sound Studio! Let me know when you get a chance. Thanks, again!
Thanks Alexander! 🖤 Congrats on getting the Moog Sound Studio - such an excellent set of units. I don't have a Patreon page, and I haven't really shared patches in the past. This was from a few years ago so I can't really remember the details of the patches, but the M32 is doing the bass which I believe was taking the VCO SAW out into the EXT IN then using the Mix control to blend saw + square, which sounds nice. Plus PWM from the LFO. On the DFAM I pretty much always send the PITCH out to NOISE LEVEL input to create a snare.
@@hexial Awesome! Thank you so much! :) In a 2-month user review of the Moog Subharmonicon, the reviewer set the knobs to a certain level to create a particular sequence, switched off the instrument, switched it back again and the sequence completely changed. If you could shed some light on that and tell me if that happens with the Moog DFAM as well it would be of great help as I am planning to buy one. The review I'm referring to is this ruclips.net/video/Bs0aGmX9WEo/видео.html
That's interesting! I watched the example in his video, and I've never noticed that on my Subharmonicon but then I probably just haven't needed to go back to a sequence. However with the DFAM I'm 99.9% sure it doesn't have the same behaviour. I just tested it and the sequence was identical when I turned it back on. I'd imagine this is because it's a lot simpler than the SH. It sounds like the pitch quantisation is getting screwed up on SH reboots.
Thanks dude :) The video was shot on the BMPCC4k camera. All of the synths are connected to a Focusrite audio interface with some effects in Cubase but everything's live. The output of the audio interface is going into the camera.
I'm using MIDI clock from Ableton Live in to the Subharmonicon, then the clock out from that in to a passive multiplier which sends that clock signal to the DAM (ADC/CLOCK in), Mother-32 and Drumbrute Impact. All of the synths are plugged in to a Scarlett 18i20 audio interface and I'm using Ableton Live for clock synced effects.
It depends a bit on what other gear you have :) In this setup I just had all 4 connected to inputs on my soundcard, and used mixing/effects in Cubase. If you're just after something basic though you could use one of the Yamaha MG series desks - uk.yamaha.com/en/products/proaudio/mixers/mg_series_xu_model/index.html
@@hexial cheers mate. thanks for the response. i've only got a few synths (DFAM, SubH, Minilogue) at the moment and my audio interface only has 2 inputs, so i've been trying to figure out what type of mixer i might need.
Learn some build up and build down to silence. Learn how to actually play a keyboard. This was one of few videos I’ve seen that I didn’t stop watching after one minute. Very good, but.
This gives me awesome video game vibes, kinda Metroid-esque but more modern. I love it!
I'm sold on this baby..great setup and music...
It's an awesome little guy
All synced up and rockin, excellent use of the moogs here
Excellent live jam. Yes, the SubH is amazing. 👍👍
Slowly working my way thru Subharmonicn and DFAM vids and got to this one. Awesome track!
Thank you! :D

Thank you for the lovely comment! They're such an inspiration combination :) Well done, Moog 😍
This is great work. I could not move to other video until it finished. LOVED it👍👍👍
Thank you so much!
Powerful track, love this performance. Great work
Nice work, great tune.
like 7 seconds in and it's amazing good work dude.
Sounds great! I'm waiting for my Mother-32 to be delivered to complete the Moog Trifecta, I'm so excited, it's a really nice system.
Thanks :) It's such a great combination! Hope you have fun :D
Came to see what you had setup, stayed cause I really dug the track, well done
Thanks! :)

Awesome

Lovely sounds
Cool sounds, really like what you’re extracting from the 3 moogs. 😎
Thanks dude :)
Greetings! Nice work. I enjoyed listening 😺
Amazing layering
Excellent!!!
Awsome! Perfect Moog trio 🔥
Holy shit! This is fucking great!!!
Thank you so much! I've just released an album :D hexial.bandcamp.com

really inspiring jam. i don't spend enough time using my system
the mother32 really made it incredible.
It's awesome for bass drones like this :)
very very nice
nice!

Yeah, they're a great combination :D The DBI and DFAM sound great together - very complimentary.
👍👏👏👏😁
I love that falling painted glass sound.
That’s a great way to describe it!
Really great sounds and patches here. What reverb are you using for the 32 and subH?
Thanks! I can't remember, but it's likely it was either Valhalla Shimmer or a Lexicon Hall
Yeah sounds like the shimmer. Keep the moog videos coming!
